Visionary, versatile surgical lighting Harmony® vLED surgical lighting system Make the switch to LED technology LED lighting has become the leading choice for today’s surgical suite teams. And with good reason: LED lamps emit bright light without radiating heat. Ever pragmatic, STERIS asked professionals in the field what they were really looking for in an LED surgical lighting system. STERIS took their comments into account and engineered a completely new range of lighting systems that are aesthetic and easy to adjust, and deliver high-intensity, heat-free light. And the benefits? A cooler, more comfortable surgical environment that is free of shadows, as well as excellent colour rendering and exceptional deepcavity illumination. Visualisation for all applications Unparalleled shadow reduction From endoscopy and ENT, to open heart The light directed at surgical incisions must be perfect. The 60 LEDs on surgery and orthopaedics, the Harmony® each Harmony® vLED lighthead are arranged to ensure the optimum vLED system is the ideal solution: balance between shadow reduction and cavity illumination. Each lens · Maximum light intensity produces a beam of light that is precisely aimed and overlapped to · Cool, white light · Excellent colour rendition achieve a tight, round pattern. As a result, the light spot stays uniform and completely free of shadows no matter how many lenses are blocked by obstructions. · Deep cavity illumination · Shadow reduction · Energy efficiency Each LED lens creates the pattern - block one or forty and the surgical spot remains clear and unobstructed. Ultra bright, yet cool, white light The advances in LED technology are perfectly suited to the requirements of surgical suites. Because LED lamps do not emit infrared rays, virtually no heat is radiated towards the surgical field. As a result, the risk of drying out exposed tissue is minimised and the conditions for the patient and surgical team are cooler and more comfortable. A true win-win all around. Vivid colour accuracy Not only is the light emitted by the Harmony® vLED system cool, it is also particularly bright. Its LEDs are specifically engineered to emit white light and thus avoid the need for filters to counteract the negative effects characteristic of colour LEDs. The Harmony® vLED system provides excellent natural colour rendition that remains stable over time, thus allowing surgeons to interpret tissue and vessel appearance with the utmost accuracy. Moreover, we have maximised its R9 value, a measurement of critical importance as it determines the eye’s ability to distinguish subtle shades of red. Visionary controls right at your fingertips The Harmony® vLED system features three sources of control. The Touch Panel controls the light intensity and the camera. The optional ACT (Automation Control Technology) interface allows the lighthead to be controlled via your integration system. Lastly, the handle features a built-in one-touch control system for repositioning the lighthead and adjusting its illumination intensity (7 different levels) and the spot size. Modular to suit your needs We know that not all operating theatres are alike. That is why we designed the Harmony® vLED system with a wide variety of configurations and choices to perfectly suit all operating theatre needs and budgets. Proven-quality suspension: • Optimum manoeuvrability in all situations Harmony® vLED single lighthead system - Excellent low lateral positioning - High “parked” position between cases • Single spring arm designed for low ceilings • Highly manoeuvrable dual spring arm for standard ceiling heights Different lightheads for different needs: • Fixed spot size lighthead for surgical suites, ICUs, and cath labs Harmony® vLED single lighthead with single flatpanel monitor • Adjustable spot size lighthead for all procedures, from general Future ready surgery to complex orthopaedic cases • Camera-ready adjustable spot size lighthead Today’s surgeons expect much more than great optics and suspensions. They require systems that can integrate in-light cameras and flat-panel monitors as well as accommodate future technologies. Our flat-panel monitor arms feature removable panels that make wiring easy. The high degree of compatibility offered by the Harmony® vLED system makes adding existing equipment or upgrading to better equipment easy regardless of the endoscopy camera you choose. How? They contain no mercury, lead, cadmium, CFCs, POPs, VOCs, or any other toxic substances. Each LED lamp is rated for 30,000 hours of service life, which means no lamps to throw away or recycle. What’s more, they are more energy efficient than conventional lamps and they reduce building operating costs because they do not generate any heat that would have to be removed by an air conditioning system.
