e When setting up your monitor, be sure to avoid places subject to any

Cleaning the body: Wipe body with a dry, soft cloth (such as
cheesecloth). When it is extremely dirty, soak the cloth in a
solution of neutral detergent, wring it out and then wipe.
To prevent deformation of the body, etc., and to avoid operation
hazards, do not allow volatile liquids such as benzine and thin-
ner to touch the body, and do not wipe it with a cloth soaked in
such a liquid.
If the equipment is soiled with water, oil, solvent, etc., wipe over
with soft cloth or cotton first, then clean with gauze, etc., soaked
in denatured alcohol.
When shooting outdoors at night, it may not always be possible to
obtain sufficient object illumination with the built-in infrared light
illumination (LED) alone. In this case, install an external infrared light
Because camera functioning is based on infrared ray reception in the
B/W mode, using a zoom lens when shooting in the B/W mode may
cause the lens to go out of focus. This is not a malfunction. To avoid
this, focus the lens manually or use a fixed-focus lens.
This unit uses the C-mount lens only. So be sure not to use the CS
mount lens.

This is the mount for installing the C-mount lens

A screw is provided to adjust and fix the Back Focus. See page 9.
Screw holes for camera installation (upper and lower sides)
Use the 1/4 inch-20UNC screw hole when installing the camera on a
tripod or a fixer, etc.
E SYNC IN connector
e BNC connector for external reference sync signal input such as
composite video signal (VBS) or black burst signal (BB).
e When the reference sync signal is input, the camera automatically
switches from the internal to external sync mode to perform gen-
lock operation.
If the input external reference sync signal is less than 65% below the
reference level, the external sync becomes unstable.
VIDEO OUT connector
BNC connector that outputs a composite video signal. Connect to
the video input connector of a monitor, switcher, etc.

Color < black/white timing switch
If the color signal’s video level drops below the preset level because
of low illumination, this switch automatically changes to the B/W
L: About 0.3 Y (p-p) color video level
H : About 0.5 V (p-p) color video level
When the color video level falls below these values, the unit switches
to the B/W mode. (With AGC switch “ON”)
Factory-preset value : L
infrared illumination (LED) switch
AUTO: LED is off in the color mode and lights up automatically in
the B/W mode.
OFF: LED is off at all times.

EJ Infrared illumination (LED)
This lights automatically when the B/W mode is set (with lll Infrared
illumination (LED) switch : AUTO).
Install the camera so that the front luminescent window is displayed.
Install an external infrared light source when object illumination is
insufficient such as when using the camera outdoors at night or
when an object is a long way from the camera (more than 3 m).
When this camerais used withits housing, set the infrared illumination
switch to OFF. If it is used in the AUTO position, the best quality
picture may not be obtained.

If the plug on the cable is of a different type, replace it with the
provided 3-pin iris plug.

@ White balance adjustment switch
This is used for changing the setting of the white balance.
MANU: Manual adjustment is possible.
ATW : Accepts different types of lighting (color temperatures
ranging from approx. 2850 K to 7000 K) using an
automatic tracking system,
0: : For shooting under the artificial light such as halogen
lamps (color temperature approx. 3200 K).
e The automatic tracking system may not function property
when shooting with non-standard lighting or lighting with a
color temperature that exceeds the range of the camera.
Because it uses a TTL system, if a colored object is shot
(especially one with a single color) that fills most of the cam-
era's field of view, the color temperature may be judged
incorrectly and the correct white balance adjustment may

V, afuse may be blown. Also, if itis used with a power supply higher
than AC 26.4 V, a malfunction may occur.

Lights when the camera is powered.
@ White balance adjustment controls
When the white balance adjustment switch is set to “MANU”,
the white balance can be adjusted manually.
G-Mg: Turn to the “G” side to adjust the green level. Turn to the
“Mg” side to adjust the magenta level.
Turn to the “B” side to adjust the blue level. Turn to the “R”
side to adjust the red level.

Switches between the internal/external sync mode (automatic) and
the line-lock mode.
LL position:
In the line-lock setting, the camera's vertical synchronization can be
driven by the AC signal in the power lines. To select power lines
phase-locked sync, set the switch to the LL position.
e Do not supply the external reference sync signal when using the
camera in line-lock mode.
e Line-lock sync operation is possible only when used with an AC
power source (AC 24 V, 60 Hz: U type, 50 Hz: E type)

VE position with this setting, when the external reference sync signal
is input, the camera switches to the external sync mode, and when
no signal is input, the camera switches to the intemal sync mode

@ V phase adjustment
If the camera is to be used in the line-lock sync mode, the vertical
phase may require adjustment to synchronize the vertical phase of
the camera with other cameras in the system. (Vertical phase is
adjustable over the range of +90")
Make this adjustment when the vertical phase of the camera does not
match with other cameras (or systems). For correct adjustment, use
a multichannel oscilloscope. This vertical phase adjustment can only
be made when the camera is operating in the line-lock sync mode.

This function makes the iris focus on an object to be shot and is
located near the center position of the screen.

Set this switch to “ON” at the time of back-light.
SHUTTER speed select switch
This varies the electronic shutter speed. Normally, when a fast-
moving object is being shot, still or slow-motion played-back pictures
will be blurred. In this case, switching the shutter speed from the
normal speed of 1/60 second: U type, 1/50 second: E type to a faster
speed allows each frame to be recorded with greater detail, at the
higher speed.

This automatically increases the camera's sensitivity when the
level of ambient light drops.

performed. Adjust by changing the setting of the SC phase coarse
adjustment switch (A/B) in conjunction with the SC phase fine
adjustment control with reference to other camera(s) in the system.
Oo ¡RIS LEVEL control
The brightness control of the monitor picture does not operate
correctly, adjust using this control. Tum OFF the AGC switch (set to
ON at the factory) to adjust the IRIS LEVEL control.
When using amanual iris lens, the brightness of the picture image will
be fixed by setting this switch in AUTO (Automatic electronic shutter)
position, as the shutter speed is automatically varied according to
the light incident.

age the inside of the camera and correct mounting may be
impossible; never use such lenses.

e Lenses designed for color video cameras are recommended.
Lenses designed for B/W cameras may have inferior color
reproduction and picture quality. In particular, they are not
suitable for use outdoors or in very bright conditions. When
using a lens with an ND filter attached, shooting may not be
possible with the minimum required illumination specified.
Because camera functioning is based on infrared ray reception in
the B/W mode, using a zoomlens when shooting inthe B/W mode
may cause the lens to go out of focus. This is not a malfunction.
To avoid this, focus the lens manually or use a fixed-focus lens.

Select a lens with the size which does not shut off the infrared
illumination. Use the figure below as reference.

Turn the lock screw counterclockwise to loosen.
Fully open the aperture and set the focus ring to “=” (infinity), then
shoot the subject from as far away as possible. Adjust using a subject
further away than the one to be shot.
® In the case of an auto-iris lens only, shoot a comparatively
dark object so that the aperture is open.
Turn the FOCUS screw to focus with a screwdriver.
Turn the lock screw clockwise to secure.
With a zoom lens
