OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
The gasoline-engine is specially designed for the model airplane. With large horsepower
and excellent stabilization, the engine becomes a kind of light and ideal power equipment for the
TOC model airplane. Please read carefully the Operation Instructions before you use it.
—. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1, The engine is not a toy. Please take care of your safe when you're operating it. We will
not be responsible for any safety problems causing by the engine.
2, Before using the engine, please check the aircraft propeller and the engine frame etc.
carefully in order to make sure the screws and nuts fixed. When you installed the engine, you
had better use the screw glue ( such as LOCTITTE 242) to fix the screws or nuts.
3, Please use the engine frame that we provide. Do not use the other engine frame to replace
the original one. |
4,If you want to grind in or test the engine on the test bed, a quality shock absorber
must be installed on the test bed, otherwise, some parts would be broke. It is better to grind
in the engine when it was installed on the model.
5, Strictly prohibit anyone from staying in front of the propeller when the engine is running.

=. ADJUSTMENT OF THE ENGINE
1,Every engine has been preset before ex-factory; it can be used directly by the customers.
However, altitudes will influence the performance of carburetor, to obtain the best output of
DEL engines, slight adjustment at the carburetor is very necessary.
2, Functions and Adjustments
(1). Choke Arm (The Choke Arm is used under the circumstance of cold start-up.); (2).
Throttle; (3). Idle Adjustment Screw; (4). Low-speed Needle; (5). High-speed Needle;
® ADJUSTMENT: Turn the Idle Adjustment Screw (See No.3) clockwise will increase the
idle speed. At the same time, turn the Low-speed Needle (See No.4) clockwise to reduce the
gas. Normally, the preset from factory is screw down the Needle and then turn back about
1.25 loops. High-speed Needle (See No.5) is turn back aboutl.5 loops. But we suggest it
should be adjusted with the tachometer to obtain the maximum speed. For the best
performance, engine should be accelerating and decelerating smoothly.
e Caution: A thin mixed gas causes engine overheat and spark plug burned. So please
pay attention when you adjust the High speed needle.
3. Start-up the engine
Step 1: Close the Choke (Start up directly if the engine remains warm) and full throttle.
Step 2: Turn off the ignition power supply.
Step 3: Turn the aircraft propeller until the petrol entering the carburetor. You may
need to turn it few more times for the first start or the engine 1s unused for a while.
Step 4: Turn on the ignition power supply, and spinning the propeller hardly with a
Start-up Stick. (Caution: After starting-up, the engine will stop automatically as a result of the
rich oil.)
Step 5: Open the Choke and start up the engine again referring steps 4.
IW. MAINTENANCE OF THE ENGINE
1, Please use the clean petrol 93 # . The ratio of petrol and engine oil is 30:1; Carburetor will
be seriously obstructed if the engine oil be mixed up with from different manufacturers or
brand.
2 If the engine is running in an idle speed too long, spark plug might be serious carbonized.
3, Always check and secure the tube between the fuel tank and the carburetor, make sure there 1s
no air leaking.
4, Keep the surface of the engine clean. Be sure the engine is well heat dissipation.
5, NOTICE: Please clean the fuel filter in the carburetor periodically, otherwise failure occurs
with needle adjustment and the engine may work unsteadily etc.
Take apart the screw, and
open the rear cover of the
carburetor.
Wash the filter.
