The beater disc for the plastic blender shaft is suitable for foaming instant desserts, making milk shakes using powder or concentrate flavourings. (If using fresh fruit such as bananas, puree the fruit first). The beater disc can also be used to whip chilled skimmed milk to form a thick low calorie topping for desserts. The mixer disc for the plastic blender shaft can be used for batter/pancake mixes, blending and removing lumps from gravy and sauces. It can also be used to mix cake mixes such as one stage cakes. for beaker blending Place the beaker on a firm flat surface. ● ● Don’t overfill the beaker as liquid may splash out. Always reduce the quantity when blending frothy liquids such as milk shakes. for saucepan blending Take the pan off the heat and let it cool slightly. Otherwise your hand blender could overheat. 1 Select the blender shaft. If using the plastic blender shaft, choose the desired disc and push onto the end, ensuring that the groove on the disc lines up with the protrusion on the blender shaft. 2 Fit the power handle inside the blender shaft, turn and lock . 3 Plug in. To avoid splashing, place the blade in the food before switching on. 4 Hold the beaker/saucepan steady. Then press either speed button (use speed 1 for slower blending and to reduce splashing). ● Don’t let liquid get above the join between the power handle and blender shaft. ● Move the blade through the food and use a stabbing action. ● When using the beater disc, move the blender in an up and down motion. Whilst doing this hold the shaft at a slight angle and draw it slowly up against the side of the beaker. ● If your blender gets blocked, unplug before clearing. 5 After use, unplug and dismantle. ● Removal of the beater or mixer disc: remove the blender shaft from the power handle. Hold the blender shaft in an upright position, over a sink or washing up bowl with the disc uppermost. Insert the shorter arm of the tool between one of the slots and locate the groove around the central pin.
