ARMOUR flash LLoine AFLV - AFLH Connection to "Comfort LED" (RED to +ve) Please read carefully before using . Specification Sounder Output 120dB(A) in free space, at 1m Current requirement at 12Vdc 300mA Strobe Power 1.0 Watt Current requirement 120mA (typ) Standby current (typ) 50mA ARMOURflash is a "self activating" (SAB) type sounder fitted with a maintenance-free rechargeable battery. A 5 second/20 minute stop timer is included. The 5 second timer test mode allows the installer to install the unit silently as follows. With the test jumper in place carry out the timer test procedure by c onnecting the battery at terminal block J1; one pole of the battery is already connected in the factory. CORRECT POLARITY IS ESSENTIAL TO AVOID DAMAGE. After the siren stops (5sec.), with the battery still connected, remove the test jumper. The timer will remain "timed out" and the siren silent until the final power-on from the panel is applied and the cover is fitted. PLEASE NOTE:- OCCASIONALLY THE BATTERY MAY NOT BE IN A GOOD STATE OF CHARGE WHEN THE ARMOURFLASH UNIT IS DELIVERED. As a result , the siren may sound weak and the timer may not operate correctly when tested until the battery has received a partial charge. In this case silent installation is not possible. A few hours after installation the battery will have acquired a partial charge. In 24h the battery will be fully charged. MOUNTING . Mount the ARMOURflash unit using a minimum of three No.10 screws or equivalently secure means. The tamper device needs a further screw protruding from the wall as shown in the diagram. TAMPER RETURN - A negative (or positive) pole supplied to the panel only when the hold off voltage is present and the tamper switch is closed. Most UK panels are negative return types. Use only ONE TAMPER POLE. Ignore the polarity that is NOT required. The strobe is connect ed to the relevant terminals on the control panel connector block. Take care to observe correct polarity. COMMISSIONING Ensure that the tamper switch will close when the cover is finally fitted. With the timer test jumper IN PLACE connect the battery at J1 if this has not already been done as part of the silent install procedure. If the battery is charged the siren will operate for five seconds. Remove (and retain) the timer test jumper. The siren will remain silent until after the timer has been reset. IT IS VITAL THAT THE TIMER TEST JUMPER IS REMOVED BEFORE FITTING THE COVER. Failure to do so will mean that the siren will operate only for five seconds in alarm. Connect the strobe and l.e.d. connecting plugs (observing polarity when connecting the l.e.d. plug: RED WIRE = positive, BLACK WIRE = negative.) That is, the trigger signal removed or the tamper state (including loss of hold-of f) is cleared. Up to 60 seconds is required after restoration of a "clear" state for the timer to reset.
