CE-P 2.5 12 Battery charger / Power Supply Installation and User Guide The CE-P 2.5 12 charger is designed to charge 12 volt batteries having a maximum capacity of 40 Ah or to maintain the charge of batteries having greater capacity. It guarantees reliable operation and extends the service life of the batteries connected. The voltage and current of the CE-P 2.5 12 is preset. It can also be configured in a power supply mode, with an adjustable output voltage from 12 V to 15 V. 1 INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION Respect the installation direction! The setting can be written on the cover sticker as a reminder. ▪ Battery charger mode Settings are pre-defined for Lead Acid Batteries (13.38V). To set for maintenance free lead batteries (13.65V), turn power off, close the PbO/PbSE switch. If the desired charging voltage is different from these values, or if a NiCd battery is used, the output voltage can be set using the "adjust" potentiometer. The setting can be printed on the label. Note: For NickelCadmium (NiCd) batteries, the usual charging voltage is 1.42 V per cells. CAUTION! Before powering the unit: ▪ Respect mounting orientation of the product: vertically, connectors at the bottom. ▪ Verify that the vents are not obstructed. 50 mm required above and below unit. ▪ Check that the rated voltage corresponds to the application. ▪ If a specific output voltage is required, check the value on the sticker. ▪ Make sure cover is securely closed ▪ Before connecting the battery, verify polarity. 3 ▪ ADVANCED FUNCTIONS BOOST function To charge the batteries, it may be useful to use the BOOST function to increase the charging voltage for a few hours. The CE-P features a BOOST function that raises the charging voltage by 3.8 % (PbSE) and by 5.4 % (PbO). This function is activated by connecting the “BOOST” terminals of connector EC3. The terminal connecting cable shall not to exceed 2 meters. Normal mode returns when the strap is removed. ©2017 Vertiv Co. Replace fuse FS Charger voltage check with battery disconnected (between 12 and 15V) Wait for the battery full charging (the voltage must increase progressively). Check battery status Check battery connections (+ / - polarities).
