Customer’s sole and exclusive remedy under this limited warranty shall be product repair or replacement as provided herein. WARNING

INJURY TO PERSONS, OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:

1. Use this unit only in the manner intended by the manufacturer. If you have questions, contact the manufacturer at the address listed in the warranty.

2. Before servicing or cleaning unit, switch power o ff at service panel and lock the service disconnecting means to prevent power from being switched on accidentally.

When the service disconnecting means cannot be locked, securely fasten a prominent warning device, such as a tag, to the service panel.

3. Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by a quali fi ed person(s) in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, including fi re-rated codes and standards.

4. Su ffi exhausting of gases through the fl ue (chimney) of fuel burning equipment to prevent backdrafting. Follow the heating equipment manufacturer’s guideline and safety standards such as those published by the National

Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the American

Society for Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning

Engineers (ASHRAE), and the local code authorities.

5. When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling, do not damage electrical wiring and other hidden utilities.

6. When performing installation, servicing or cleaning the unit, it is recommended to wear safety glasses and gloves.

7. Do not use this range hood with any additional solid state speed control device.

8. Ducted fans must always be vented outdoors.

9. To reduce the risk of fi re, use only metal ductwork.

10. This unit must be grounded.

11. When applicable local regulations comprise more restrictive installation and/or certi fi cation requirements, the aforementioned requirements prevail on those of this document and the installer agrees to conform to these at his own expenses.

TO REDUCE THE RISK OF A RANGE TOP GREASE FIRE:

1. Never leave surface units unattended at high settings.

Boilovers cause smoking and greasy spillovers that may ignite. Heat oils slowly on low or medium settings.

2. Always turn hood ON when cooking at high heat or when fl ambeing food (i.e.: Crêpes Suzette, Cherries

Jubilee, Peppercorn Beef Flambé).

3. Clean ventilating fans frequently. Grease should not be allowed to accumulate on fan, fi lters or in exhaust ducts.

4. Use proper pan size. Always use cookware appropriate for the size of the surface element.

WARNING

TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY TO PERSONS IN THE

EVENT OF A RANGE TOP GREASE FIRE, OBSERVE THE

FOLLOWING*:

1. SMOTHER FLAMES with a closefi tting lid, cookie sheet, or metal tray, then turn o ff the burner. BE

CAREFUL TO PREVENT BURNS. If the fl ames do not go out immediately, EVACUATE AND CALL THE FIRE

DEPARTMENT.

2. NEVER PICK UP A FLAMING PAN - You may be burned.

3. DO NOT USE WATER, including wet dishcloths or towels - This could cause a violent steam explosion.

4. Use an extinguisher ONLY if:

A. You know you have a Class ABC extinguisher and you already know how to operate it.

B. The fi re is small and contained in the area where it started.

C. The fi re department is being called.

D. You can fi ght the fi re with your back to an exit.

1. For indoor use only.

2. For general ventilating use only. Do not use to exhaust hazardous or explosive materials and vapors.

3. To avoid motor bearing damage and noisy and/or unbalanced impellers, keep drywall spray, construction dust, etc. o ff power unit.

4. Your hood motor has a thermal overload which will automatically shut o ff the motor if it overheats. The motor will restart when it cools down. If the motor continues to shut off and restart, have the hood serviced.

5. For best capture of cooking impurities, the bottom of the hood should be at a minimum distance of 24” and a maximum of 30” above the cooking surface.

6. To reduce the risk of fi re and to properly exhaust air on a ducted installation, be sure to duct air outside - Do not exhaust air into spaces within walls or ceiling or into attics, crawl spaces, or garage.

7. This product is equipped with a thermostat which may start blower automatically. To reduce the risk of injury and to prevent power from being switched on accidentally, switch power o ff at service panel and lock or tag service panel.

8. Because of the high exhausting capacity of this hood, you should make sure enough air is entering the house to replace exhausted air by opening a window close to or in the kitchen.

9. To reduce the risk of fi re and electrical shock, hood must be installed with provided blower. Blower cannot be substituted.

10. Use with approved cord-connection kit only.

OPERATION

Always turn ON your hood before you begin cooking in order to establish an air fl ow in the kitchen. Let the blower run for a few minutes to clear the air after you turn o ff the range.

This will help keep the whole kitchen cleaner and brighter.

CLEANING

Ba ffl fi lters

The ba ffl fi lters should be cleaned fr equently. Use a warm detergent solution. Ba ffl fi lters are dishwasher safe.

Wash more often if your cooking style generates greater grease - like frying food or wok cooking.

Grease Drip Rail

The grease drip rail should be cleaned frequently. Lift it out from the hood and use a warm detergent solution.

As for the ba ffl fi lters, wash more often if your cooking style generates greater grease—like frying foods or wok cooking. Allow grease drip rail to dry completely before reinstalling it in the hood.

Blower Cleaning

Remove the fi lters in order to access the blower. Use a shop vacuum to clean the blower. Do not immerse in water.

Cooktop Lighting (Halogen)

A rotary 3-position knob (

) controls the halogen lights

(OFF - low intensity - high intensity).

Blower

The blower is operated using two controls.

Use the on/o ff rocker switch (

) to start and stop the blower. When turned on, the blower indicator (

) turns on and the blower operates at the previous setting of the speed control (

4

).

Turn the speed control knob clockwise to increase blower speed – counterclockwise to decrease speed.

Heat Sentry™

This hood is equipped with a Heat Sentry thermostat. This thermostat is a device that will turn on or speed up the blower if it senses excessive heat above the cooking surface.

1) If blower is OFF - it turns blower ON to HIGH speed.

2) If blower is ON at a lower speed setting - it turns blower to HIGH speed.

When the temperature level drops to normal, the blower will return to its original setting.

WARNING: The Heat Sentry can start the blower during a range top fi re or other excessive heat situations even if the hood is turned o ff it is impossible to turn the blower OFF with blower switch. If you must stop the blower, do it from the main electrical panel.

Hood Cleaning

Stainless steel cleaning:

How to maintain its “BRIGHT LOOK”

Do

:

- Regularly wash surfaces with clean cloth or rag soaked with warm water and mild soap or liquid dish detergent.

- Always clean in the direction of original polish lines.

- Always rinse well with clear water (2 or 3 times) after cleaning. Wipe dry completely.

- You may also use a specialized household stainless steel cleaner.

Do not

:

- Use any steel or stainless steel wool or any other scrapers to remove stubborn dirt.

- Use any harsh or abrasive cleaners.

- Allow dirt to accumulate.

- Let plaster dust or any other construction residues reach the hood. During construction/renovation, cover the hood to make sure no dust sticks to stainless steel surface.

Avoid when choosing a detergent

NON-DUCTED INSTALLATION

For non-ducted installation, a recirculation kit 55673 or 55683 (sold seperately) must be installed. See installation instructions included with the non-duct kit 55673 or 55683.

Backsplash must be installed before the hood shell because it covers the backsplash top mounting screws. In order to be able to install the backsplash, make sure you have at least 18" clearance between bottom of hood and range control panel or cooktop. (See instructions packed with backsplash.)

All hoods are factory shipped with the blower mounted for a vertical discharge con fi guration. For a horizontal discharge con fi guration, disassemble the blower from the inner top of the hood and mount it to the inner back panel of the hood.

INSTALL THE ADAPTER AND THE TRANSITION (IF NEED BE)

Using standard 3/8" screws provided, secure the adapter to the top (or back) of the hood. Seal the adapter to the hood using metal foil duct tape.

For round ducting, install an appropriate sized transition and seal the joints with metal foil duct tape.

INSTALL WOOD MOUNTING STRIP

Measure and mark a level line on wall above cooktop location for the wood mounting strip (see illustration at right). Remove wood mounting strip from back of hood. Use no. 10 - 2" fl at head screws to secure the mounting strip to the drywall. Make sure to hit the wall studs.

CAUTION: Due to the weight of this hood, ensure that the wood strip is attached to all of the available studs (2 studs minimum for a 30" width hood, more as hood width increases); not into the drywall alone.

Assemble both sides to the front using 4 no. 8 x 0.375" included screws.

Place the decorative flue cover on top on the range hood.

INSTALL THE HOOD

CAUTION: Hold the hood until it is completely secured to the wood mounting strip.

1. Run power cable to installation location. Remove the

electrical compartment cover. Insert the cable in the hood

and tighten the wire clamp to secure the cable.

Rest the back cavity of the hood on the wood mounting

strip.

3. Secure the hood to wood mounting strip with 4 screws

no. 8 x 3/4" provided at locations shown. Drill (3) 3/16" size

holes into the drywall for wall anchors through the existing

holes in the inside hood back in the locations shown. Then,

install the three wall anchors with the remaining

no. 8 x 3/4" screws and the 3 washers provided.

WARNING: Risk of electrical shock. Electrical wiring must be done by quali fi ed personnel in accordance with all applicable codes and standards. Before connecting wires, switch power o ff lock service disconnecting means to prevent power from being switched on accidentally.

1. Connect cable using provided wire connectors.

Connect BLACK to BLACK, WHITE to WHITE and GREEN or bare wire under GREEN ground screw.

DO NOT FORGET TO CONNECT THE GROUND.

CAUTION: The ORANGE wire (A) is for make-up air device connection only. If there is no make-up air device, never remove the cap on the ORANGE wire end.

REINSTALL GREASE DRIP RAIL AND BAFFLE FILTERS

). The illustration at right shows how to reinsert the grease drip rail into the range hood.

CAUTION: Remove protective plastic fi lm covering fi lters before installing them.

NOTE: Assemble the metal handles to the fi lters, using provided no. 8-32 x 1/4" screws, before installing them in the hood.

It is recommended to install side fi lters fi rst and fi nish with center one.

Insert one end of the fi lter into the upper channel of the hood.

2. Raise the other end toward the inside

of the hood and insert in the grease

drip rail of the hood.

INSTALL LIGHT BULBS

!

WARNING: Do not touch lamps during or soon after operation. Burns may occur. In order to prevent the risk of personal injury, only install shielded halogen lamps. Also, never install a cool beam, a dichroïc lamp, a lamp not suitable for use in recessed luminaires or identi fi ed for use in enclosed fi xtures.

This hood requires 2 x 50 W max, 120 V, with GU10 base, shielded halogen lamps (not included).

1. Install bulbs by placing the bulb leads into their grooves in the socket.

2. Gently push upwards and turn clockwise until secure.

To remove bulbs, gently push upwards and turn counterclockwise to disengage bulb leads from their grooves.

NOTE: If need be, use a rubber dishwashing glove to add grip when removing the bulb.

The manufacturer genuine replacement parts are specially designed for each unit and are manufactured to comply with all the applicable certi fi cation standards and maintain a high standard of safety. Any third party replacement part used may cause serious damage and drastically reduce the performance level of your unit, which will result in premature failing. The manufacturer recommends to contact a certi fi ed service depot for all replacement parts and repairs.

La garantía siguiente se aplica, CON UN

COMPROBANTE DE VENTA, cuando este aparato se instala, se utiliza y se mantiene de acuerdo con todas las instrucciones dadas.

Este aparato está garantizado DURANTE UN AÑO, a partir de la fecha de venta, contra los defectos de material y de mano de obra. Un aparato defectuoso será reparado o sustituido, según decida el vendedor.

El periodo de garantía de UN AÑO no se aplica al acabado de las piezas pintadas o de las piezas metálicas brillantes.

9. Gastos de servicio en un aparato cuya placa con el modelo y número de serie ha desaparecido, ha sido alterada o no pueda comprobarse fácilmente que lleva el logo de certi fi cación apropiado.

Denegación de garantías implícitas; limitación de los recursos

El único recurso de que dispone el cliente conforme a esta garantía limitada será la reparación o la sustitución del producto, tal y como aquí se indica.

Las garantías implícitas, tales como las garantías de comerciabilidad o de idoneidad para un determinado propósito, se limitan a un año para la campana de cocina y a treinta días para las piezas pintadas o metálicas brillantes, o al periodo más corto que permita la ley. El vendedor no será responsable de los daños incidentales o derivados. SIGUIENTES INDICACIONES:

1. Utilice este aparato únicamente de la forma en que indica el fabricante. Si tiene cualquier pregunta, póngase en contacto con el fabricante en la dirección aparece en la garantía.

2. Antes de reparar o limpiar el aparato, apágelo en el tablero de servicio y bloquee los medios de desconexión para impedir que la corriente se conecte accidentalmente. PARA REDUCIR EL RIESGO DE QUE ARDA LA GRASA

EN LA PARTE SUPERIOR DE LA COCINA:

1. No deje nunca recipientes de cocina a fuego vivo sin vigilencia. Los desbordamientos producen humo y derrames grasiendos que pueden in fl amarse. Caliente el aceite despacio, a fuego lento o mediano.

2. Ponga en marcha siempre la campana extractora al cocinar a temperaturas elevadas o al cocinar alimentos fl ameados (crepas Suzette, cerezas jubilee, res con pimienta fl ambeada).

3. Limpie los ventiladores con frecuencia. No deje que la grasa se acumule en el ventilador, ni en los fi ltros o en los conductos de evacuación.

4. Utilice cacerolas de tamaño apropiado. Emplee siempre un recipiente adecuado para el tamaño de la placa.

ADVERTENCIA

PARA EVITAR EL RIESGO DE DAÑOS A PERSONAS EN

CASO DE FUEGO POR ALTO NÍVEL DE GRASA, TENGA

EN CUENTA LO SIGUIENTE*:

1. Sofoque la llama con una tapadera apropiada, una bandeja metálica ó un utensilio de cocína que pueda cubrirla, despues, apague el quemador. Actúe con precaucíon para evitar quemaduras. Si la llama no se extingue inmediatamente, salga y llame a los bomberos.

2. Nunca coja una sarten en llamas, porque corre el riesgo de quemarse.

3. NO USE AGUA ni paños o toallas húmidas porque puede provocarse una violenta humareda.

4. Utilice un extintor SOLAMENTE si:

A. Posee un extintor de clase ABC y sabe perfectamente cómo usarlo.

B. El fuego es pequeño y está controlado en el mismo sitio en que empezó.

C. Ha llamado con anterioridad a los bomberos.

D. Puede combatir el fuego retrocedíendo hacia la salida.

PRECAUCIÓN

1. Sólo para una utilización en el interior.

2. Sólo para ventilación general. No debe utilizarse para extraer materiales o vapores peligrosos o explosivos.

3. Para evitar daños en el cojinente del motor y que la hélice haga ruido o se desequilibre, mantenga la unidad de alimentación lejos de los vaporizadores de pirca, del polvo de la construcción, etc.

4. El motor de la campana tiene un dispositivo contra sobrecargas térmicas que apaga el motor automáticamente si éste se sobrecalienta. El motor volverá a ponerse en marcha cuando se enfríe. Si el motor sigue apagándose y encendiéndose, haga examinar la campana.

5. Para que la campana capte mejor las impurezas que se desprenden al cocinar, la base de la campana ha de estar a una distancia mínima de 24”, y a una máxima de

30” con respecto a la super fi cie sobre la que se cocina.

6. Para reducir los riesgos de incendio y extraer el aire debidamente, el aire debe evacuarse fuera. No extraiga el aire a espacios situados entre las paredes, en el techo o en el desván, falso techo o garaje.

7. Este producto está equipado con un termostato que puede poner en marcha el ventilador automáticamente.

Para reducir el de que se produzcan daños y evitar poner en marcha la alimentación accidentalmente, apague la corriente en el tablero de servicio, bloquee este tablero o ponga una etiqueta de advertencia.

8. Dada la gran capacidad extractora de esta campana, debería asegurarse de que en la casa entra su fi ciente aira para sustituir el aire extraído. Abra para ello una ventana en la cocina o cerca de ella.

OPERACIÓN

Ponga en marcha siempre la campana antes de empezar a cocinar para generar una corriente de aire en la cocina.

Deje en marcha el ventilador durante unos minutos para renovar el aire una vez que haya apagado la cocina.

Esto ayudará a que toda la cocina esté más limpia y despejada.

OPERACIÓN

ADVERTENCIA: En el caso de fuego de cocción o durante un calor excesivo, el Heat Sentry puede poner en marcha el ventilador, incluso si este está apagado. Ventilador

El ventilador funciona con dos mandos.

Utilice el interruptor de encendido y apagado (

Termostato Heat Sentry™

La campana viene equipada con un termostato Heat

Sentry™. Se trata de un dispositivo que enciende o acelera el ventilador cuando detecta un calor excesivo sobre la super fi cie sobre la que se cocina.

1) Si el ventilador está APAGADO, se pondrá en marcha en la velocidad ALTA.

2) Si el ventilador está ENCENDIDO en una velocidad baja, el termostato lo pondrá en la velocidad ALTA.

Cuando la temperatura baje a un nivel normal, el ventilador volverá a su posición original.

Filtros

Los fi ltros deben limpiarse con frecuencia. Utilice una disolución de detergente con agua templada. Lávelos con mayor frecuencia si su tipo de cocina genera más grasa

(alimentos fritos o cocina con wok).

Limpieza del ventilador

Retire los fi ltros para tener acceso al ventilador. Limpie el ventilador con un aspiradora de taller. No lo sumerja en agua.

Riel de vertido de grasa

El riel de vertido de grasa debe limpiarse con frequencia.

Retire lo de la campana y utilice una disolución de detergente con agua templada. El riel se puede lavar en el lavavajillas.

Lávelo con mas frecuencia si su tipo de cocina genera más grasa (alimentos fritos o cocina con wok).

Limpieza de la campana

Limpieza del acero inoxidable:

Como conservar el lustre.

Debe hacerse:

- Limpiar regularmente las super fi cies con un trapo limpio o humedecido con una mezcla de agua templada y jabón suave o detergente para la vajilla.

- Limpiar siempre en la dirección de las líneas originales de pulido del acero.

- Enjuagar siempre con agua limpia (2 o 3 veces) después de limpiar. Seque completamente.

- También puede utilizar un limpiador doméstico especial para acero inoxidable.

No debe hacerse:

- Utilizar un estropajo de acero o acero inoxidable o otro tipo de rasquetas para quitar la suciedad resistente.

- Utilizar limpiadores fuertes o abrasivos.

- Dejar que la suciedad se acumule.

- Dejar que el polvo del yeso o otros residuos de la construcción manchen la campana. Si efectúa obras de construcción o renovación, cubra la campana para que no se manche la super fi cie de acero inoxidable.

Al escoger un detergente, evite:

- Los limpiadores que contienen

(lejía), ya que dañarán el acero inoxidable.

La placa posterior debe instalarse antes que el exterior de la campana porque dicho exterior cubre los tornillos superiores de instalación de la placa. Para poder instalar la placa posterior, compruebe que hay un espacio de 18” al menos entre la parte inferior de la campana y el tablero de control o super fi cie de cocción de la cocina (véanse las instrucciones que vienen con la placa posterior).

INSTALACIÓN DEL ADAPTADOR Y DEL CAMBIO DE SECCIÓN

Utilice los tornillos estándar de

3/8" provistos para sujetar el adaptador a la parte superior (o trasera) de la campana. Selle el adaptador con la campana con cinta adhesiva metálica. Cuando se trate de tubos redondos, instale un cambio de sección apropiado y selle las juntas con cinta adhesiva metálica.

INSTALACIÓN DE LA REGLETA DE MONTAJE

Mida y marque una línea a nivel en la pared, por encima de la super fi cie de cocción para la regleta de montaje (véase la ilustración de al lado. Quite la regleta de montaje de la parte trasera de la campana. Utilice los tornillos de cabeza plana n.° 10 de 2" para sujetar la regleta de montaje en el panel mural.

Procure fi jarla a los postes murales.

PRECAUCIÓN: Dado el peso de esta campana, compruebe que la regleta de montaje esté sujeta a todos los postes murales disponibles (2 al menos para una campana de

30"; más cuando la campana sea más ancha) y no sólo al panel mural.

INSTALACIÓN DE LA CAMPANA

PRECAUCIÓN: Sujete la campana hasta que esté totalmente asentada contra la regleta de montaje.

1. Lleve el cable de alimentación hasta el lugar de la instalación.

Quite la tapa del compartimento eléctrico. Introduzca el cable

en la campana y apriete la abrazadera de hilos para sujetar el

cable.

2. Coloque el hueco trasero de la campana sobre la regleta de

montaje.

3. Sujete la campana a la regleta de montaje colocando 4 tornillos n.

8 de 3/4" provistos. en los lugares que se muestran. Perfore 3

ori fi cios de 3/16" en el panel mural para los dispositivos de

sujeción mural a través de los ori fi cios ya hechos en los lugares

que se muestran en la parte trasera interior de la campana. A

continuación, instale los 3 dispositivos de sujeción mural con los tornillos o

8 de 3/4" y las 3 arandelas provistas.

CONECTAR EL CABLEADO

INSTALACIÓN DE LAS BOMBILLAS

ADVERTENCIA: No tocar las bombillas durante o justo después de la utilización. Pueden causar quemaduras.

Para prevenir el riesgo de lesiones corporales, instale solamente bombillas halógenas protegidas. Nunca instalar una bombilla dicroica o no concebida para luminarias empotradas o bombillas identi fi cadas sólo para uso en dispositivos encerrados.

Esta campana debe utilizar bombillas halógenas protegidas GU10 de tipo MR16, de 120 V y 50 W (no incluidas).

1. Instale las bombillas nuevas colocando los casquillos de las bombillas en sus ranuras, en los portalámparas.

2. Empuje suavemente hacia arriba y gire al mismo en el sentido horario hasta que queden bien a fi anzadas.

Estas piezas se han diseñado especialmente para cada unidad y se han fabricado conforme a las normas de certi fi cación aplicables y un elevado nivel de seguridad. El uso de repuestos de otros fabricantes podría causar daños graves y reducir radicalmente el desempeño de la unidad, causando así fallas prematuras.
