Social Ministry Report for January, 2018
The Soup People delivered 90 pounds of soup to The Quakertown Food Pantry on January 15th.
Comfort Crafters sent 7 pet beds to the Upper Bucks ASPCA in Quakertown. We also delivered 20 hats,
14 scarves, 12 baby hats, 4 sweaters, 2 baby blankets and 1 pair of mittens to World Visions – Knit for
Kids Project. The World Visions drop off is A. C. Moore and I had an email stating that since 2014 customers have donated over 125,000 items to World Visions. Wow! These items are distributed in the
USA and around the world to children in need of warmth. Along with the Knit for Kids donation we also
sent hats, scarves and mittens with Chrissy Fallows and her group Angels Sharing the Warmth. In December the group went into Philadelphia and handed out scarves, hats, scarves and other items to the
homeless living there. In January the group went to Tamaqua, February is set to make a delivery to Allentown and Bethlehem and March will be back to Philadelphia. This group is trying to help those in
need of warmth. They are a blessing!
When David Schirk delivered 144 pounds of food to Pennridge FISH on January 22 nd, he was told that
during the month of December FISH gave out 140,000 pounds of food. Please continue to remember
those in our community when you are grocery shopping and pick up an item or two for them, then place
those items on our shelves in the coffee fellowship area and they will be delivered to FISH.
Respectfully Submitted,
Marianne Yeakel
