POS-A-LOC INSTALLATION

Open up the door.
Tape dead bolt to outside skin.
Remove access panel/or inside door pad, to gain access to latch module.
Remove cable hold down bracket, then unhook cable end from latch module.
M ake sure cable is free to slide up the tube by the latch.
Detach mounting plate or bolt from top of jamb.
Remove mounting screws from pos-a-loc on top of the door.
Carefully pull pos-a-loc up from the door, if cable has resistance have someone help push
the cable up the tube.
9) Remove screw from the cable hold down then unhook cable.
10) Reinstall in reverse order.

11) Adjust pos-a-loc before replacing
12) To adjust pos-a-loc: {see reference drawings on bottom of page}
A: loosen screws on the cable hold down bracket.{ see diagram A }
B: pull cable until all slack is taken up then back off cable about 1/32” to 1/16”
then retighten screws.{see diagram a-a }

C: adjust
set screw on pos-a-loc to 1/16” to 3/32” gap between arm & screw,
{see diagram B }.
Note:
If pos-a-loc does not catch when door is in open position then the cable
Is too tight.
If pos-a-loc does not release when handle is pulled then the cable is too
loose.
