Owner’s Manual EnviroSense Environmental Sensor ™ Español……1 Installation The EnviroSense environmental sensor relays ambient temperature and humidity readings to a Tripp Lite SNMP accessory card (Model: SNMPWEBCARD or SNMPCARD) installed in a compatible UPS or PDU. The sensor can also send and receive contact closure signals, communicating with up to four compatible devices (such as smoke detectors, fire alarms and security systems). Connecting the EnviroSense Sensor to an SNMP Accessory Card • Plug the EnviroSense sensor's PS/2 connector (Figure 1) into the SNMP accessory card's PS/2 port. Refer to the SNMP accessory card (or PDU) documentation to locate this port. • If the SNMP accessory card has already been configured for the network, it must be rebooted before it will recognize the EnviroSense sensor. After connecting the sensor, use a Web browser to connect to http://x.x.x.x/admin.htm (replace x.x.x.x with the card's IP address). Log in to PowerAlert as the administrator. Click the button labeled Reset/Reboot SNMP Card (Figure 2). After the card reboots, a new button labeled Probe will appear in the top navigation area of PowerAlert. Click this button to access monitoring and control options for the EnviroSense sensor. Contact Closure Connection (Optional) The EnviroSense sensor supports up to four contact closure connections (Figure 3). Pin 1 is the Common connection. The other four connections are labeled Smoke, Fire, Water and Security for convenience, but each of them can connect with any type of contact closure device.
