GENERAL STATEMENT: The Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian Church, and the ultimate goal

POSITION SUMMARY:
The W&PAC AV Technician will provide technical support in all areas related to the operation of all
lighting, audio, and video requirements needed for performance and ministry events in the various venues
of the Kroc Center Hawaii.
The W&PAC AV Technician will have a deep commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army, which
will be evident in his or her professional life and the manner in which he or she represents The Salvation
Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in the community.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Must be 18 years old or older.
2. High school diploma or GED required.
3. Computer proficient.
4. At least two years of audio/video experience required.
5. Strong organizational, time management and communication skills.
6. Experience with current software applications and operating systems.
7. Flexibility in work schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and
abilities will be accepted.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge and sensitivity of artists and the performing arts. Experience in production and mixing live
musical ensembles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provide technical support with digitals systems including stage lighting, audio/video, and rigging
systems.
2. Oversee the setup, testing and tear down of audio visual (A/V) equipment for banquets, events (i.e.
microphones, microphone stands, cables, media carts, iPods, CD players, laptops, soundboard, etc.).
3. Ensure necessary equipment is stocked, prepared and available prior to client arrival for planned
events (i.e. cables, charged batteries, all other extraneous A/V supplies are stocked).
4. Be available to clients and staff during internal/external events to troubleshoot A/V technical
difficulties (i.e. sound systems, projectors, laptops, video screens, etc.).
5. Test and operate sound systems before and during events and banquets ensuring guests’ needs and
expectations are met and exceeded.
6. Have and be willing to gain increased knowledge necessary to set and operate lighting, sound and
projectors in the Performing Arts Theater for internal/external events
7. Have and be willing to gain increased knowledge necessary to troubleshoot all other Kroc Center
Hawaii A/V systems (i.e. overhead public address system, various sound systems throughout the
facility, etc.).
8. Attend prep meetings to ensure all A/V requests are known and prepared for in advance.
9. Willingness to participate in external groups and committees related to law, technology and
multimedia.
10. Adhere to copyright law.
11. Provide necessary reports and documentation to management and funding entities.
12. Attend staff meetings and other administrative meetings.
13. Maintain proper operation/maintenance of audio/video equipment, and coordinate checkout
procedures to other Kroc Center Hawaii staff.
14. Maintain a safe working environment: report all potential safety issues with facilities to the proper
supervisor.
15. Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.
16. Maintain the Code of Ethics policy, which has been established for the Kroc Center Hawaii.
17. Attend necessary staff meetings.
18. Maintain regular and punctual work attendance.
19. Perform other duties as assigned.
