Modular Stainless Steel Countertops Technical Data Part 1 – General 1.1 SCOPE OF WORK A. Includes all factory fabricated stainless steel Countertops and Sinks as required by the project drawings. 1.2 TYPICAL INCLUSIONS A. Countertops and Work Surfaces. B. Legs and Wall Bracket supports. C. Inset, Drop-in, Under mount, and Scullery Sinks. 1.3 TYPICAL EXCLUSIONS A. B. C. D. Wall framing and in-wall backing for anchorage support. Electrical. Mechanical. Work not directly associated with these stainless steel components. 1.4 MATERIALS A. Components fabricated from T304 stainless steel sheet, (T316 stainless steel available at additional cost) conforming to ASTM A240. All exposed surfaces polished to a No.4 brushed satin finish. (150/180 grit.) 1.5 SHOP DRAWINGS A. Submit complete shop drawings showing elevations, plans, cross sections and installation details. B. When locks are specified a complete keying schedule will be submitted with proposed keying for review by Architect and Owner. 1.6 SAMPLES A. Samples are available on request for Architect and Owner review and acceptance, The sample, if approved, may be incorporated into the project. 1.7 DELIVERY, STORGE AND HANDLING A. Schedule delivery of equipment per the customer so that spaces are sufficiently complete to allow for installation immediately following delivery. B. Protect finished surfaces from soiling or damage during handling and installation, Cover working surfaces with cardboard, Mark in large lettering "NO STANDING” Part 2 – Products 2.1 DESIGN REQUIREMENTS A. Straight, L-shaped, and U-shaped Countertops and Sinks are designed to accommodate the Architect’s or owner’s plans. B. Fixture holes at sinks are provided free of charge but must be specified before an order is released for fabrication. 2.2 CONSTRUCTION A. Countertops, work surfaces and sinks are fabricated from #16 gauge T304 stainless steel, ASTM 240, with a No. 4 brushed satin finish, all corners are coved with a 3/4 in. radius. B. Under sides of countertops and work surfaces are sound deadened. C. Exterior of sinks are sound deadened where unexposed within casework. D. Exposed stainless steel sink bowls are polished on exposed sides, and sound deadened on bottom. E. Sinks are furnished with stainless steel basket drain and 1 1/2” X 4” tailpiece as an option. F. NSF rated sound deadening is available. G. Legs are either 1 5/8” round or 2” square #16 gauge T304 stainless steel tubing with the same No. 4 brushed satin finish. H. Wall Bracket supports are #14 gauge T304 stainless steel with the same No. 4 brushed satin finish. I. Sinks are fabricated from #18 gauge T304 stainless steel, ASTM 240, with a No. 4 brushed satin finish. Part 3 – Protection of Finished Work 3.1 PROTECTION OF FINISHED WORK A. Products shipped with protective PVC film to help prevent surface damage in transit. B. Provide all necessary protective measures to protect countertops and equipment from exposure to other construction activity during installation. C. Advise contractor of procedures and precautions for protection of installed countertops and other equipment from damage by workers from other trades.
