The SureColor® Promise:
• No shading – Consistent color
• No efflorescence
• Stain resistant
CustomLite® Technology:
• Same coverage as a 25 lb. (11.34 kg) bag

For joints 1/16" - 1/2" (1.6 - 13 mm)
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
With its unique formula, Prism® sets a new standard in
cement-based grout technology with our exclusive SureColor®
Promise. Prism offers consistent color with no shading
regardless of tile type, temperature or humidity. And it will
not effloresce. Prism’s dense joints provide more resistance
to stains than standard cement grouts and cures quickly
developing high early strength. Formulated with CustomLite®
Technology, Prism is 32% lighter than other grouts, providing
excellent handling characteristics and a smooth, creamy
texture that accommodates grout joints as narrow as 1/16"
(1.6 mm). A 17 lb. (7.71 kg) bag covers the same area as a
25 lb. (11.34 kg) bag of traditional grout. Protected with
MoldGard® Technology to resist mold and mildew growth.
Polymer-modified – mix with water for any tile or stone
installation. Meets ANSI A118.7 specifications.
USES
n For grouting vitreous, semi-vitreous or absorptive tile
including ceramic, mosaic, quarry, pavers, cement, porcelain,
brick, mini-brick, precast terrazzo and natural stone.
n
n
n
n
For grout joints from 1/16" to 1/2" wide (1.6 - 13 mm).
Use on floors, countertops, walls, ceilings, showers,
fountains and pools.
For interior or exterior installations.
LIMITATIONS
n Prism grout should not be installed when ambient temperature
is below 50° F (10° C) or above 100° F (38° C) for exterior
applications or if rain is expected within 24 hours. For hot
weather grouting, contact Technical Services for
recommendations.
n
n
n
For industrial and commercial installations where chemical
resistance is required, use 100% Solids Epoxy Grout in
accordance with ANSI A118.3.
Some tile and stone with high porosity or rough, textured
surfaces and some porcelain can be stained when grouted
with colored grouts. Sealing with TileLab® SurfaceGard®
Penetrating Sealer prior to grouting is recommended to
prevent staining.
Caution: Chemicals in salt-based and chlorinated pool
filtration systems may cause a reaction with blue, green and
red grouts. Contact Technical Services for recommendations.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Tile must be firmly attached to a sound substrate and setting
material must be cured a minimum of 24 - 48 hours before
grouting. Remove all spacers. Grout joints should be uniform
in depth and width and free of all loose debris, contaminants
and excess mortar. Pre-seal tile or stone that can be subject to
staining with TileLab SurfaceGard Penetrating Sealer.
Rated (ASTM C627) for residential to extra-heavy
commercial use.

MIXING
When using multiple or partial bags, dry blend the powder
together prior to mixing with water. Start with 4 to 5 pints
(1.89 to 2.36 L) of cool clean water. Add grout powder to the
water and mix with margin trowel or low speed mixer (less
than 300 rpm) to achieve a stiff, lump free, peanut butter-like,
non-pourable consistency. Do not use additives.
MIXED GROUT MUST STAND (SLAKE) 10 MINUTES FOR
BEST RESULTS. Re-mix before use. Periodic mixing during
application keeps the grout workable but do not add additional water once mixed as this weakens the material. Pot life is 1
to 1-1/2 hours depending on temperature and humidity. Hot
weather will shorten the pot life. If grout is too stiff to work,
discard it.
APPLICATION
Installation to conform to ANSI A108.10. Lightly dampen
absorptive, highly porous tile with clean, cool water but leave
no standing water in the joints. Holding a rubber grout float
at a 45° angle to the tile surface, force grout diagonally into
joints ensuring joints are completely filled. Remove excess
grout using edge of float held at a 90 angle. Spread no more
grout than can be cleaned in 30 minutes from the time the
grout begins to firm. Clean-up can begin when grout begins
to firm, typically 10 - 30 minutes, depending on the type of tile
and ambient temperature. Use as little water as possible for
grout cleanup. Smooth and level joints and remove excess
grout from tile with a damp (not wet) small pore (hydrophilic)
grout sponge using a circular motion. Change water and rinse
sponge frequently. Haze can be removed after as little as
3 hours with cheesecloth or a wrung-out sponge.
CURING
Periodically mist the installation with clean, cool water for
3 days.
CLEAN-UP
Clean tools and hands with water before material dries.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
MoldGard® Technology provides high resistance to mold and
mildew growth. However, mold grows in wet areas and on dirt
and soap scum that can accumulate on grout. Keep grout
clean with TileLab® OneStep™ Cleaner & Resealer. For added
protection, grout joints should be sealed with SurfaceGard®
Penetrating Sealer after grout has cured for 48 - 72 hours.
SAFETY
Contains Portland cement. Avoid eye contact or prolonged
contact with skin. Wash thoroughly after handling. If eye
contact occurs, flush with water for 15 minutes and consult
a physician. This product contains free silica. Do not breathe
dust; wear NIOSH approved respirator.
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
DO NOT TAKE INTERNALLY.
STORE IN A COOL, DRY AREA.
COVERAGE
Coverage will vary depending on tile size and joint width.
