FILTRATION SYSTEM
Five stage filter system
Stage 1
Stage 2
Stage 3 & 4
Stage 5
Stage 1 – Prefilter
The Prefilter removes large particle contaminates, i.e. dust & animal dander
Stage 2 – U.V Lamp
The U.V lamp is used for sterilisation against microorganisms and acts as a
supplement to the TI02 filter medium.
Stage 3 & 4 – Active Carbon & Titanium Oxide (TI02)
Active carbon is charcoal that has been treated with oxygen to open millions
of pores between the carbon atoms. These pores absorb harmful gases
and odours.
Titanium oxide is active under U.V light and has antibacterial, antiviral,
sterilising & deodorising properties.

FILTRATION SYSTEM
Five stage filter system
Stage 5
The Plasma generator splits the airborne molecules of water into positively
charged hydrogen and negatively charged oxygen. These positive &
negative ions are the same found in abundance in nature particularly
around forests, mountains & waterfalls & are completely harmless.
The generation of ozone is less than 0.01ppm (parts per million) which is
much lower than the consumer electronics industry standard of 0.05ppm.
The shower of positive & negative ions are released through the air into the
volume of the room & begin seeking out & surrounding harmful airborne
contaminates such as fungi, viruses, microbes, bacteria, mold spores &
dust mites. Once the contaminates are found a chemical reaction occurs &
the collision of hydrogen with oxygen ions creates groups of highly reactive
radicals called Hydroxyl (Hydroxyl is natures own detergent).
A Hydroxyl radical is very unstable. To stabilise itself it removes the
hydrogen from the harmful contaminates it finds, in doing so, the hydroxyl
radical damages the contaminates leaving them inactive. The plasma
process is then complete.
ANION
An ioniser is a device that adds a negative charge to molecules of air. A
negatively charged ION that has more electrons than protons in its nuclei is
known as an ANION and these help to reduce airborne contaminates.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Access & removal of the filter cartridge
Pressing the button marked ‘OPEN’
on the front face of the appliance
makes access to the filtration
cartridge (see opposite).
The control panel will lift up and the
filter cartridge will be visible. Please
note the INSTALLATION ADVICE
LABELS that identify the correct
installation of the filter cartridge (see
opposite).
Take hold of the handle & lift in an
upward direction until the filter
cartridge is completely removed
from the appliance (see opposite).
10
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Removal & maintenance of the filter medium
The pre-filter is the first stage of the
filtration system. Simply pull the nylon
tab to remove the filter for renewal
(see opposite).
The plasma generator is located on the
reverse side of the filter cartridge. To
remove; hold the cartridge firmly in one
hand and pull the plasma generator
towards you with the other hand. (see
opposite).
CAUTION: You may find the plasma
generator is a tight fit.
On the reverse of the plasma generator
are three very fine wires. Threaded
onto these wires are transparent beads
which are for clearing the wires of any
pollutant collected during its operation.
(see opposite).
CAUTION: If the wires are damaged
or broken its operation will be impaired
& the plasma generator should be
replaced.
11
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Removal & maintenance of the filter medium
To clean the wires simply allow the
beads to travel the length of the wires
by gently rocking the plasma generator
back & forth. The perforated stainless
steel body can be cleaned with care
using a soft brush or alternatively by
rinsing under a gentle flow of water.
Allow to dry completely before refitting.
Behind the plasma generator is located
the active carbon & the titanium oxide
(TI02) filter. Simply pull the nylon tab
to remove the filter for renewal.
(see opposite).
Behind the active carbon & titanium
oxide (TI02) filter is located the Ultra
Violet (U.V) lamp (see opposite).
The U.V lamp typically gives 6000
hours of continuous operation. To
replace the lamp; twist the lamp
through 90º & lift out of the lamp
holders. Re-fit the new lamp into the
plastic holders and twist through 90º.
NOTE:
The U.V lamp life cycle cannot be guaranteed & is not covered under warranty.
