The main objective of the preparation of this booklet: Providing new ideas for energy saving and rationalization of domestic consumption and make them available for the citizen to be reflected on his/her behaviors when dealing with the sources of energy and thus will contribute in the rationalization of energy consumption. What is the definition of rationalization of energy consumption: Rationalization of consumption does not mean reducing consumption, it means precisely: optimal consumption, which means thoughtful adopting methods and measures 'rational' in the process of consumption - and whatever kind - to achieve the best benefits and results of the process of consumption, including avoiding energy wastage and saving costs . The objective of rationalization: 1. decreasing consumption bill. 2. Reducing wastage in energy consumption . Precious ideas to save energy : The grace of electricity is not appreciated by many. The conventional energy cost increases dramatically and rapidly, especially with oil prices where experts predict significant and sustained increase in energy costs. For example: Family spends an average of 2500 to 3000 euros in European countries and especially in Belgium as an annual rate of energy (electricity, heating, mobility) with the knowledge that the bill is permanently increasing. Environmental pollution resulting from energy consumption: Using energy sources resulted in negative results lead to environment pollution when burned, especially traditional fuels such as oil, gas and products of combustion of these materials such as vapors, smoke and gases like (CO2), which in turn helps the increasing phenomenon of environmental pollution and lead to a rise in Earth temperature . Scarce Energy Fossil energy depleted quickly of the globe as a result of continuous increased demand for use, so it is not possible to rely on oil, coal and gas everlastingly ,therefore it is necessary to reduce dependence on traditional energy sources and in stead reliance on renewable energy sources (solar, wind, water….. etc). Which are less polluting and sustainable sources. Develop plans for energy conservation: It is possible to minimize the daily consumption of energy without affecting or changing the style of our daily live, but how can this be accomplished? The wise use of energy by following the correct behaviors makes it possible to achieve this through proper handling of energy. for happy life ..... use thermal insulation in the house. Use thermal insulation in your house: roofs and walls should be insulated to keep the heat out of the house, since good insulation reduces energy consumption and increase the sense of comfort inside the house. As well as the use of reflective insulator glass for windows to reduce the entry of heat into the building and painting the house from outside and inside with light colors to reflect the sun's rays and get the best lighting. It is also recommended to use curtains and reflective materials to sunlight to reduce the entry of direct heat through the glass. Definition of thermal insulation : Thermal insulation: is the use of materials that have properties of insulating that help reducing heat transfer from the outside to the inside of the building in summer, and from the inside to the outside in winter. The heat that penetrates the building which is supposed to be tempered by the use of air conditioner to maintain the appropriate degree of heat is divided into three types: -The heat that penetrates the walls and ceilings. -The heat that penetrates the windows. - Heat transmitted through natural ventilation openings. The heat that penetrates the walls and ceilings in the days of summer is estimated about 60-70% of the heat to be tempered by air conditioner. Lots of money is spent for providing energy, so try to maintain it through the rationalization of consumption which is the responsibility of all citizens, and saving energy is a religious demand, and economy in the use of electricity benefits you first and foremost, and finally your contribution in saving electricity is a proof of your awareness and interest .
