The beaty of the VELBUS system is that it can be decentralized and that you do not necessarily
have to connect all rooms together.
You can make standalone solutions in single rooms and optionally connect them by the 4 bus-wires,
in any network-shape you want: star, loop or tree.
You can have triggers (input modules) sitting in different locations where it is most suitable or
actions (dimmer, relay, blind control) where it is makes sense to save wires.
Information like day/night, phone ringing/busy, backdoor open, motion in livingroom or in garage,
etc. etc. can be shared and optionally used by some or all decentralized boxes/stations all over the
house, only by means of the 4-wire bus.
By a single push-button in the kitchen and/or in the bedroom when you go to bed, you can for
example:
- Close the garagedoor and turn off outside light
- Turn off kids stereo-set or tv and dim their ights to 5%
- Close curtains in livingroom and tun off the light in the fish-tank
- Set light in bathroom to 30% and let it turn off automatically 30 minutes later
- Lock doors
- and so much more ..........
We can help you design and configure your single rooms or the entire system to match what you
want.
BedRoom
The following example is from my own bedroom.
I have made a LinTronic Automation Box holding:
1 pcs. VELBUS dimmer
1 pcs. VELBUS curtain control
1 pcs. VELBUS relay
The LinTronic Automation Box is simply sitting on the floor under the bed.
From the box, a 230 vac wire goes to he bedsite lamp, a 230 vac wires goes to the light under
the bed and a wire goes to the electrical curtain.
All wires are hidden sufficiently away so the robotic vacuum cleaner does not eat them :o)

In order to save some space in the LinTronic Automation Box,
a PowerDin-002 power supply is mounted under the bed
but outside the box, using the optional wall-mount
screw-terminals.

Light under the bed
Under the bed I have mounted a normal outdoors motion detector (mounted horizontically)
connected to a normal 230 vac light bulb.
When motion is etected around the bedside, the lamp turns on for 90 seconds, which is very
handy during night time.
When I put my feet on the floor, a pleasant light automatically comes on and I can easily find
my way to the bathroom and my daughters room, without beeing blinded.
Coming back I easily find my way to the bed and the light turns off by itself.
RS232 module
An RS232 module is mounted under the bed, allowing me to connect my portable computer for
easy configuration, and allowing me to control the functions by the BE4 remote via the
TT455-RT-238.
On the RS232 module, I continue the 4-bus-wires to another location in the house, instructing
my bedroom when it gets dark, phone rings/busy, backdoor is opened, etc.
The RS232 module was mounted in an empty TT455-RT-238 cabinet.
The VELBUS TimerPanel was integrated into the frame of the bed, next to the BEO4.
I spray-painted the frame black to match the BEO4 and surround speakers.
The TimerPanel was timer-configured to close the electrical curtain every day at 22.00 hours.
The curtains are opened monday - friday at 08.00 and saturday-sunday at 10.00.
The light under the bed is turned on at 20.00 every day. When the light under the bed is turned on,
the motion sensor will control the light. The light is turned off at 08.00 every day so the motion sensor
will not turn on the light during the daytime.
The timerpanels 8 functions are:
Atmos - sets a romantic light at the bedsites, closes the curtain and turns off the light under the bed
Dim - Controls the light level at the bed site lamps and turns them on/off
Morning - Opens the curtain and turns off the light under the bed
Night - Closes the curtain and turns on the light motion control under the bed
On - Turns on the light under the bed (manual control)
Off - Turns off the light under the bed (manual control)
Up - Runs the curtain up (manual control)
Down - Runs the curtain down (manual control)
From the BEO4 I control all relavant audio/video functions of my Sony devices by the TT455-RT-238
and the above as well as some timer-controlled functions of the light:
- set bedsite lamps to 20% and turns fully off in 30 minutes.
