The VersaEXPRESS RF-640
Productivity and reliability at a smart price
The Roland VersaEXPRESS RF-640 offers the perfect formula for digital printing success: high production
speed, outstanding print quality, ease of use and unsurpassed reliability. The genius behind the RF-640 is
that you make the most beautiful prints at high speeds while keeping operating costs low. That translates
into increased output, satisfied customers and more money in your pocket.
Advanced productivity features
Equipped with high productivity features, the RF-640 delivers breathtaking prints and superb colour consistency time after time.
A newly developed take-up system supports high-volume printing at high speeds. Even smaller rolls are easy to handle because
the rolls are secured to the take-up system on the left-hand and right-hand sides. Roland’s exclusive Ink Switching System allows
you to leave the machine unattended without having to worry about ink reserves. When the first cartridge is empty, the printer
automatically switches to backup cartridge. With this system, production is never interrupted.
The VersaWorks RIP software further enhances productivity with its advanced functions, including nesting (efficient combining of
printing tasks) and ink- and media-use predictions. VersaWorks also features the Roland Color System and the PANTONE libraries
that you can use to easily and accurately select the correct spot colours.
State of the art print technology
The RF-640 uses Roland’s ECO-SOL MAX 3 ink in four colours. This GREENGUARD Gold-certified ink prints beautiful, vivid
colours. A mirrored CMYKKYMC print head fires seven different droplet sizes ensuring stunning graphic results on a wide range of
media. Even at high speeds, you can count on gorgeous print quality.

The genius of simplicity
You don’t have to be a genius to use an RF-640. In fact, this printer’s innovative features and technological advancements make it
incredibly easy to operate. With the Roland Printer Assist iPad app, you can even remotely manage production, test printing, and
even cleaning functions from an iPad tablet. Additional features for increased ease-of-use and convenience include an easy-access
front-loading ink cartridge system.
Smart savings
The RF-640’s design allows for low operational costs and easy maintenance. Precise inkjet technology and new optimized profiles
for ECO-SOL MAX 3 ink work together for efficient ink consumption. An automated cleaning function also minimizes ink usage,
while helping to prolong print head life. As a result, the RF-640 is highly efficient in both production and standby modes.
