OPERATION
INSTALLING STAPLES OR BRAD NAILS IN MAGAZINE
OPERATING YOUR STAPLER
This stapler can drive 20 Ga. x 3/8” crown Arrow® T50® staples among
other brands from 1/4” to 9/16” in length, it can also drive 18 Ga. brad
nails from 3/8” to 5/8”.
WARNING! protect your eyes and ears. Wear Z87 safety glasses with
side shields. Wear hearing protection. Employers are responsible for
ensuring the user or anyone near the stapler wears the above
mentioned safety protection.
• Disconnect the air hose from the stapler air inlet.
WARNING! Check and replace any damaged or worn components.
• Add one/two drops of 30W oil for air tools into the air inlet.
• Install a quick connect fitting to the stapler.
• Press down on the magazine latch (A) and pull the magazine strip
outwards.
• Connect the stapler to an air compressor using a 0,95 cm (3/8”) I.D. hose.
Make sure the magazine does not contain any staples and that the air
hose has a rated working pressure exceeding 200 psi and a female quick
coupler.
• Flip the stapler upside down, then insert a strip of Arrow® T50®
staples (B) or brad nails (C) upside down inside the magazine. When
installing brad nails in magazine, slightly tilt the stapler so the brad
nails stay against the inner wall (D) of the magazine.
• Load magazine with staples or brad nails following the instructions in this
manual.
• Push the magazine strip closed and make sure the latch is engaged.
• Reconnect the air hose to the stapler air inlet.
AIR SUPPLY & CONNECTIONS
AIR SUPPLY AND CONNECTIONS
WARNING!
THE FOLLOWING ILLUSTRATION SHOWS THE CORRECT MODE OF CONNECTION TO THE AIR
SUPPLY SYSTEM, THIS WILL INCREASE THE EFFICIENCY AND USEFUL LIFE OF THE STAPLER.

Regulator
• Many air tool users find it convenient to use an oiler to help provide oil
circulation through the tool and it increases the efficiency and useful life of
the tool. Check oil level in the oiler daily.
• Many air tool users find it convenient to use a filter to remove moisture and
impurities which can rust or wear internal parts of the tool. A filter also
increases the efficiency and useful life of the tool. The filter must be
checked on a daily basis and, if necessary, drained.
• For better performance, install a 0,95 cm (3/8”) quick connector (1/4” NPT
threads) with an inside diameter of .315” (0,8 cm) on your tool and a 0,95
cm (3/8”) quick coupler on the air hose.
• Regulate the air pressure to obtain 90 psi.
• It is recommended to test for proper staple penetration by driving staples
into scrap wood. If the staples do not achieve the desired penetration,
regulate the air pressure to a higher setting until the desired penetration
is achieved. Do not exceed 100 psi.
SAFETY RELEASE & FIRING MODES
This stapler is capable of two modes of firing, sequential and bump firing
modes.
Sequential Firing Mode
• The operator is required to have the finger off the trigger (A) and the nose
of the stapler placed on the workpiece.
• The safety release (B) is then depressed against the workpiece and the
trigger is pulled to drive the staple. This mode is ideal for precision work.
• The trigger is released after each staple is driven.
• Move the stapler to the next location and repeat the above procedure.
Warning! If holding the stapler clear of the workpiece, the safety release
must return to its original down position. If the trigger is pulled, the stapler
must not fire. Never use the stapler if it fires in this situation.
Bump Firing Mode
• The operator is required to have the finger on the trigger, then the
operator “bumps” the workpiece with the nose/safety release of the
stapler to drive the staple. This mode is ideal for quick operations with
less precision.
• Do not release the trigger after the staple is driven, move the stapler to the
next location and repeat the above procedure.
MAINTENANCE &
TROUBLESHOOTING
CLEARING JAMS
WARNING! Disconnect the stapler from the air compressor before adjusting, clearing jams,
servicing, relocating and during non-operation.
• Depress the magazine latch, pull back on the magazine cover and remove all staples from the magazine.
• Remove jammed staple using pliers, then reload staples in magazine and make sure the magazine
cover latch catches.
LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE
• Your stapler needs to be lubicated before and after the first time you use it.
• Disconnect the air supply from the stapler before lubricating.
• Turn the stapler so that the inlet is facing up and put ONE DROP of 30W oil or oil without detergent
into the air inlet. Never use detergent oil or additives. Operate the stapler briefly after adding oil.
• Wipe off excessive oil at the exhaust. Excessive oil will damage O-rings of the stapler. If an in-line
oiler is used, manual lubrication on a daily basis through the air inlet is not required.
CLEANING YOUR STAPLER
• Never use gasoline or other flammable liquids to clean the stapler. Vapors in the stapler will
ignite by a spark and cause the tool to explode and result in death or serious personal injury.
• Disconnect the air supply from the stapler.
• Remove tar buildup with #2 kerosene fuel oil or diesel fuel. Do not allow solvent to get into the
cylinder or dammage may occur. Dry off the tool completely before use.
REPLACEMENT DRIVER, BUMPER & O-RING REPAIR KIT
After prolonged use of your stapler, the internal parts may need to be replaced caused by wear & tear.
To repair, a complete Driver, Bumper & O-ring Replacement Accessory Kit is available for your
stapler (model: KW-113). Contact your local King Canada distributor for more information.
