Locating a feature is taking way
too long.
Locating a feature is taking way too long. This was introduced with a change
of behavior because of NetWorks changes, regarding the factor used to find
the range to draw. This is the amount added to the MapView range in order
to pick up labels whose origin don't lie in the MapWindow extents, but that
they need to draw. Networks put in a different way of calculating this than
G/Tech desktop has used for a long time. This change caused the
performance degradation.
Resolution: NetWorks now works as programmed, and normal G/Tech's
performance is as before.

A text style had a light gray filled textbox with fill translucency set to about

combined with font smoothing, introduced enough new colors to trigger the
color optimization algorithm. While compressing the set of colors used down
to the most used 256, the translucent filled textbox was mapped to white in
areas where the textbox wasn’t drawn over another filled area. When the
resulting 8 bit PNG was converted to a transparent PNG by making the legend

Performance of displaying WMS data
Resolution: Issue with new Magnify control has been resolved. If menu layouts
published with G/Technology 10.2.1 SP1 appear incorrect, they will need to be
republished with 10.2.1 MR1.
Displaying of WMS data in G/Designer appears to be slow.
Resolution: Several fixes have been made to improve display performance. There
were fixes in the GDOGML and GMWSRasterEngine from GeoMedia that were
integrated into G/Technology. There were also a memory leak fix and a panning
performance fix in G/Techology.
WFS data window does not show Polish characters properly.

The Related Details button in
NetViewer fails to enable for certain
features in our databases
If a detail legend is warm started,
then appending query results to
detail view fails.
Resolution: Fixed by removing the encoding dependency from code wise.
As NetWorks supports for Locale, changed the current machine locate to German.
Opened a portal instance and added WFS service to it, portal is not able to render
data/features. Reason: As services are in DE locale, in feature geometry dot (.) is
replacing with comma(,) and it seems that Portal is not able to parse the data.
Resolution: Numbers are generated in specific locale. Converting numbers to string in
culture neutral way
The Related Details button in NetViewer fails to enable for certain features in our
databases. For example, selecting a manhole that has a detail indicator fails to
enable the details button; but selecting a passage conductor enables the button and
then we can step into a detail view. Even when it looks like it is working, it could be
actually failing to provide the full answer.
Resolution: Incorrect logic was being executed for contained details in NetViewer.
The correct logic is now being executed.
If a detail legend is warm started, then appending query results to detail view fails
silently. No analysis results are shown in the detail view.
Resolution: Added code to ResetDetailID to set the Legend.DetailID to the new value.

Error in query results
G/Technology crashes when one or

Remove Oracle "remote_os_authent
(deprecated) requirement with
regards to NetExport Service
Description / How to Reproduce
An error appears in query results if the feature does not have graphic components in
the geographic map window.
Resolution: Fixed the problem to handle queries for features that have primary
detail component and no primary geographic component defined.
When a feature with NULL geometry coordinates is edited in a job, the G/tech
crashes with an error message "Column contains NULL data" when trying to open
the job in a new session.
Resolution: The software now checks for nulls. If any are found, the software writes
out an error into the DeltasErrors.log file and continues processing.
Remove Oracle remote_os_authent (deprecated) requirement with regard to
NetExport Service from Administrator Help
Resolution: Added parenthetical information to the last sentence in the help topic
“Configuring Export to a NetExport Format” topic:
Also, write access must be allowed on NetExport File Server and OS
authentication (though remote_os_authent is deprecated) must be allowed
on the NetExport application server

Wrong help language displays when
started from Redline Edit dialog
Starting help using the Help button in the NetViewer Redline Editing dialog shows
English help instead of the localized language. When users start help using the “?”
button on the NetViewer toolbar, the localized language is correct.
Resolution: 1. Localization was not handled for the help command in NetViewer in
Redline editing dialog. NetViewer now gets the localized path based on the Current
User Locale and opens the help file from correct folder along with the appropriate
topic in the CHM file. 2. The Designer/Analyst’s redline editing dialog's Help button
was displaying NetViewer help instead of Desktop help. When help is invoked from
Designer/Analyst, the GTechAdmin.chm help file now displays correctly.

Discard by FID does not set the
LTT_ID to 0 in the modificationlog
table.
Description / How to Reproduce
Documentation should be updated to note that when a Discard by FID is performed
that the LTT_ID for that edit is not reverted back to "0". The LTT_ID remains the
number of the LTT identifier.
Resolution: Made changes in two administrative topics:
Trimming Obsolete Records
Note at the end of the topics
Discard by Feature ID does not trim records from the MODIFICATIONLOG for that
job. Any user of that job will have data in the Client Deltas system for that FID in that
job. Discard by Feature ID actually places records in the MODIFICATIONLOG similar
to Undo. These records tell the Client Deltas system how to undo the data for that
FID in that job.

Trace By Phase does not correctly
trace through the phases.
Resolution: Added a note to the Placing Redlines (Designer/Analyst) topic and to the
Redline Placement (Viewer) topic and Redline Placement (Viewer) topic: Most
redlines are described by the common structure of BaseRedline type. Text and
symbols are TextRedline type, which actually are represented by three points: the
left of the text baseline (also known as the move handle), the right of the text
baseline (also known as the rotate handle), and the lower left of the text box.
Trace by phase appears to have a bug where if you’re beginning the phase trace on a
phase ‘AC’ feature it stops when it hits a connected ‘ABC’ feature. The starting
feature can be any other phase and it works.
Resolution: Made updates to several topics that contain G3E_FILTERCRITERIA and
G3E_STOPCRITERIA. Look for two single quotes (' ') together, not quotation marks.
See list of topics below.

Electric Phase-Aware Trace (this is where the biggest change is)

Identity is used from

Resolution: NetViewer work properly with CAB Module calling
IMapViewService.DataRequest.ExecuteBoundArray with DBNull as bound
parameter.
Oracle field values of type NUMBER (with NULL precision and scale) are wrong when
Publish Subset writes them to SQL-Server (for example, value 34,56 gets converted
to 3456). Type NUMBER(12,3) works the expected way.
Resolution: The decimal value in subsetted database is correct value in NUMBER
type with null scale and precision in German.
A script error occurs in the Web browser.
Resolution: Even if the home page of the browser has script errors, those errors do
not show up until the Web browser command is run.
Feature Explorer does not work in NetViewer when Windows Integrated
Authentication is enabled along with ASP.NET Impersonation.
Resolution: Feature Explorer works in NetViewer when Windows Integrated
Authentication is enabled along with ASP.NET Impersonation.
In G/Technology 10.2.1, identity is used from the GNetViewerPool for authentication
against IAM. When using Windows NT Authentication, the user may receive the
error message, "Invalid User". This was not the case in an earlier release.
Resolution: Updated GViewernet\web.config to allow Windows NT Authentication.

Help will work without having .Net 3.5 enabled.
When opening a detail reference window or new map window in a saved workspace

Resolution: G/Technology produces numbers in the correct format. The Precision

Attached MicroStation DGN files are not displaying correctly for output paper plots.
Examples: 1. Bolded fonts are showing up not bolded. 2. Line styles that include

Description / How to Reproduce
Due to the tightening of security from Microsoft, items G/Technology previously

GNetPub.udl to %PROGRAMDATA% which is the recommended location.
Remove the New Connection.Net command from the File menu.
Resolution: Removed the prototype command from menu.
Attaching a CAD file displays the file correctly. When using PublishCADFiles.exe,
then attaching the generated DDC file, the display is not the same.
Resolution: During publish, hatch entities are converted to boundary polylines
based on the sub-polyline-loops and sub-edges.
When selecting an existing detail from Open Detail Window (Window > Open Detail

The user has permissions to update the picklist values; however, this error displays:
The value will be accepted for the attribute but the picklist will not be updated.
Resolution: In the case of a read-only ADODB recordset, the control is modified so
the source table name is updated.
Attach vector data functionality does not interpret the base unit correctly from the
CSF file in the user environment.
Resolution: The software considers the “points per sub-unit” instead of master units
to attach a DGN file.
When the IGTLocateService.PickQuick method is used in a custom command, it
always lists 10 items in the PickQuick dialog, regardless of the number configured in
the Tools > Options dialog box, in the Located features section of the Smart Locate
tab. IGTLocateService.Locate() always displays 10 items in the list, even though the
MaxCandidates property is set to greater than 10.
Resolution: The Max Locatable objects setting is honored when the
IGTLocateService.PickQuick method is used in a custom command.
An error displays when a user opens a saved workspace.
Resolution: The workspaces are not recoverable. Cause was custom commands
holding on to objects at shutdown, leaving the workspace in an incomplete state.
However, this fix creates a system-generated window so that the workspace can
come up and the user can get any equity out of it such as named plots, job name,
queries, and so forth.
When primary and alternate components are selected in a map window and in an
alternate window and when users run the Edit Tool > Move command, only one
component moves. Both components are expected to move to a new location.
Resolution: The move operation is performed without any problem when multiple
components are selected in geographic and alternate windows

By default, measurement settings for ground units are set to meters. Modifying

Description / How to Reproduce
MobileViewer Install Subset errors during subset install and deletes the destination

Resolution: The problem with subset installation is corrected.
Redline symbols and texts overlap in the CAD file after exporting to CAD from a plot

Resolution: Negative Internal leading is considered during font handling, correcting
the issue.
Using a GeoMedia .mdb file and secondary data import, the .dat file created by
dataimport.exe is missing information.
Resolution: When the software encounters a row which has G_Type as null, it skips
the row, logs an error in ImportService.log as bad geometry with that feature FID,

When placing plot text, a flicker occurs.
Resolution: Added a condition to stop the toolbar flicker when there is no text to be
placed on the plot window.
When users try to place redline text and press the ESC key in the middle of the

Resolution: Fixed the problem so that even after the ESC key is pressed, the first
mouse click is not ignored.
When rotating a point feature, in some instances it appears an incorrect vector is

Description / How to Reproduce
An automation error appears after selecting from the Exists in list in the Ad Hoc

Resolution: During the LostFocus event, the row and column data are re-fetched for
the default row. Thus, for any further array methods, there is no error.
An invalid message is displayed when selecting the Move button (>>) without

Since receiving a fix for adding legend filters called from a custom command, the
users say the performance is bad when removing those same filters when called
from a custom command.

ignored by the Precision Coordinate control, and coordinate key-ins are not allowed
when the source window is active.
G/Technology crashes when trying to add WFS features to the select set.
Resolution: The exception is propagated to command level, and the error is shown
to user.
When a user selects multiple features and invokes the Edit Common Attributes
command, a horizontal scroll bar can appear. If users try to edit any of the columns,
focus switches to the right-hand side, which makes users unable to see the
attributes they are editing.
Resolution: Enabled the form resize option for the user so that when the horizontal
scroll bars appear, the user should move the horizontal scroll bar to the left side and
then drag the form horizontally so that horizontal scroll bar disappears and
truedbGrid also resizes accordingly. When a user edits a column, the left-hand
attributes are visible while editing, enabling a user to see which attribute is being
edited. Also, focus shifts to the left-hand side attribute after a user completes
editing and presses ENTER.

Description / How to Reproduce
In NetViewer, select the feature and click OTDR, then select the point on the feature
for the trace. Enter the values and execute. An error is thrown, and the user cannot
execute the OTDR trace.
Resolution: OTDR trace can be executed in a NetViewer environment.
Error generated when running Ado query and selecting the relationship as Node
Ordered.
Resolution: Extra single quotes were being added to the query. Removed the
extraneous single quotes.
The Upgrade Wizard does not allow executables to be called for add-ons.
Resolution: The Upgrade Wizard calls the add-on’s executable without using an
argument.
The components of a child feature are not deleted in the order specified by the
G3E_FEATURECOMPONENT.G3E_DELETEORDINAL metadata when a parent feature
that is configured to automatically delete its children is deleted. This causes issues
with configured functional interfaces. Because the order of the deletion is different
in these cases, it is possible that a feature is half deleted before the functional
interface fires. If the feature itself is deleted, the functional interfaces fire in the
correct order. It is only when the parent feature is deleted and the metadata is
configured to automatically delete the children that the issue is observed.
Resolution: The software was updated to delete the components of the child
feature using the G3E_FEATURECOMPONENT.G3E_DELETEORDINAL metadata.
When a user tries to open a new plot window, an error message is thrown and if
cancelled again the same message is shown. A user cannot perform any operation
and cannot exit G/Technology. The user has to exit G/Technology manually. The
same issue is observed if a user tries to open a saved workspace that has a plot
window.
Resolution: Problems was active mapview legend for plot window does not exist.
Fixed the problem by adding a check if ActiveMapView type is GMMapView.

Summary
Add-On upgrade problems with
checking package version during
Upgrade Wizard process
OTDRComputeGeoPoint.cls is
determining an incorrect marker
location for non-graphic conductors.
Line styles display incorrectly in
attached DGN files if window
rotated.
Description / How to Reproduce
Users do not know which upgrade procedure goes with which Add-On, and there
might be more than one.
Resolution: The Upgrade Wizard will check an add-on’s package version against its
client version to get the right result from the package version checking.
The OTDRComputeGeoPoint.cls (POTDRSup package) is determining an incorrect
marker location for non-graphic conductors contained in an infrastructure network.
The logic in the DefineDirection function excludes the final infrastructure feature of
the infrastructure network containing the non-graphic conductor if it ends with a
just a passage connector. The Fiber Path trace uses the core OTDR classes to
determine marker placement. The logic works correctly if there is no ending
connection or if the contained conductor has a graphic component instance.
Resolution: Updated this logic to avoid defaulting to the node interchanged for this
case.
Line styles display incorrectly in attached DGN files if the window is rotated. When
the window is rotated, the dash, dot, gap patterns stretch.
Resolution: The renderer exposed an API method so that a user can set the value of
LinetypeScaleMultiplier which will help a user decide the dash, dot, gap patterns
stretch. LinetypeScaleMultiplier in the gt.ini. User must key-in this value in gt.ini as
shown below. Default value for the same is 7.2.
LinetypeScaleMultiplier=7.2

Attaching of MicroStation V7 DGN

Incremental Subset publish
Description / How to Reproduce
Attach vector data functionality does not interpret the base unit correctly from a
CSF file in the user’s environment.
Resolution: Fixed the issue by considering the “points per sub-unit” instead of
master units to attach a DGN file.
Attaching a MicroStation V7 DGN file shifts the drawing in the Designer/Analyst
product.
Resolution: Fixed the problem to use active view extents attached for calculating
the extents during the attach operation in Designer/Analyst.
When doing an incremental publish, almost all the data from a couple of ddc files
were brought into the UDT file as deltas resulting in a huge size for the UDT file.
FOW Fiber Path Report and Fiber
Usage Report error in detail
windows
Resolution: The UDT file created by publishing incremental subsets does not include
any deltas, which are the same data between full and incremental subset map files
In Fiber Optic Works, clicking on a feature in a result set works in the geographic
map window. In a detail, that same operation seems to work, but it also throws an
error. This is true for both the Fiber Path Report and the Fiber Usage Report.

When performing the erase raster

message
Raster image quality in XPS Print is
poor
Description / How to Reproduce
Filtering of the recordset is not giving the correct record. It is considering the First
record from the retrieved recordet irrespective of the filter that is applied. Which
returns null and throws exception as shown below: "Error in
GenerateContainmentResult: ORA-20002; There is no utility package defined for
relationship number 5."
Resolution: Fixed the problem so that when record count is more than one, the
correct record is retrieved based on the filter that is applied.
When users run the erase raster operation, G/Technology Designer produces the
following error: Invalid raster file format. The command Erase Raster support just
erasing of raster data in binary formats. This can only be reproduced with a German
regional setting.
Resolution: Fixed the problem by supporting localization for supported file types so
that Erase Raster will not throw error in non-English environment.
When the user prints using NetViewer to a XPS output, the color quality of the raster
images is very poor - almost close to grey scale rather than color.
Resolution: Fixed the problem by picking correct color palette when rasters are
present and generate a better quality PNG.

Description / How to Reproduce
The All ducts and manholes in AOI query fail in NetViewer and MobileViewer. This
same query works as expected in Desktop.
Resolution: All ducts and manholes in AOI query work in Viewer products as in the
G/Technology desktop.
IGTPlacementTechnique:MouseClick Method is not called on right click. Users need
to catch right click during a placement technique to skip the move of the label
component being placed (just to be consistent with existing product placement
technique behavior).
Resolution: The custom placement technique can receive right mouse clicks by
deriving their class from GTPlacementTechnique and either setting
base.RightMouseClickEnabled to true or override the base classes
RightMouseClickEnabled property and return true when it is called.
If there is a Z-value that is outside the range in G3E_PARAMETERS, it will not be
published. The purpose of the range in G3E_PARAMETERS is to tell which Z-values
that are valid regarding z-value calculations. If the Z-value is unknown it should be
outside that range
Resolution: Publish and deltas processing now allow geometry with Z values outside
the valid Z range, if *all* Z values of the geometry are equal to the DefaultZ set in
G3E_GENERALPARAMETER.
