Failure to observe the warning may result in severe personal injury or death.
Moderate risk! Failure to observe the warning may result in property damage.
Minor risk! Points which should be observed when handling the unit.
Danger to hearing!
Extended listening at high volumes may lead to hearing loss.
• To avoid damage to health, avoid extended listening at high volumes.
• When the volume is set high, always keep a certain distance from the unit and never place your ear directly on the speaker.
• Particularly when the subwoofer has been set to maximum volume and the unit is activated, very high noise pressure may suddenly be produced. This may have psychological consequences and also cause physical injury. Children and pets are particularly at risk. Set your signal source unit volume control to a low setting before turning on the power.
Danger Danger to children!
Children can become trapped in the packing film when playing and suffocate.
• Do not allow children to play with the unit or the packing film. Danger of suffocation.
• Ensure that children do not remove small parts from the unit or pull them off of the unit (e.g. the batteries from the remote control, knobs or plug adapters). They could swallow the parts and choke.
Danger Fire hazard!
Improper use may lead to damage or fire.
• Do not place open flames such as burning candles or similar on the unit.
Danger Risk of injury
Placing the unit on an unstable surface may cause the unit to tip over and cause serious injury or even death, particularly to children. You can prevent many accidents by taking the following precautions:
• Only place the subwoofer on the floor.
• If you want to use underframes or speaker stands, only use those recommended by the manufacturer.
• When storing the product, also ensure that it stands safely and that it cannot be knocked down or over.
Danger Danger of injury/damage!
Setting the unit up in an unsuitable location may result in injury to persons and/or damage to property.
• Never use the unit unmounted in vehicles, in unstable locations, on wobbly tripods or furniture, on insufficiently dimensioned brackets etc. The unit could tip or fall down and cause injury to persons or be damaged itself.
• Set up the unit in such a way that you cannot accidentally knock it over and that the cables do not pose any trip hazard.
• Only use the unit in indoor areas.
• Do not operate the unit in damp areas and protect it from drops of water or splash water.
Also take care not to stand vases or other containers filled with liquid on or near the speaker in order to avoid liquid getting into the case.
• Do not place the unit near sources of heat (e.g. heaters, ovens, other heat generating equipment such as amplifiers etc.).
Unpacking
• Carefully open the box and lift out the speakers with the EPE foam parts without reaching into the diaphragms.
Setup notes
Note
Our website contains comprehensive notes for correct setup.
• The location of the subwoofer can be freely selected and does not influence the other speakers. However, do not place it in the corner of the room as this may result in irregular frequency overloads. A location between the front speakers is often ideal.
• Select a stable, level base.
• Make sure that the speaker has a stable position to prevent vibrations.
• Make sure that the environment is clean and free from dust.
• Avoid placing the unit close to sources of heat or in direct sunlight.
• Do not place any heavy objects on the cables or the speakers.

Connecting
Danger Danger of injury/damage!
Arrange the cables so that they do not pose a trip hazard.
1. Disconnect the power plug of your Impaq receiver from the socket.
2. Run a speaker cable from your Impaq receiver to the subwoofer. Use a high-quality double wire speaker cable with marked strands for this. The cross-section should amount to at least 1.5 mm 2 .
3. The speaker connector terminals “Speakers” are located on the back side of your Impaq receiver. Connect the speaker cable to the subwoofer terminals here. See the operating instructions for the device for more information.
Make sure the polarity is correct!
Connect the terminals of the same colour or polarity each. Otherwise the sound quality will suffer.
A connecting panel with two terminals is located on the back side of the subwoofer. Connect the speaker cable there.
The terminals are each marked red (+) and black (–).

Run the stripped cable end into the now visible hole. Close the terminal by turning it counterclockwise. The cable has now been clamped in place.
7. Re-connect the power plug of your Impaq receivers to the socket.
