What is the EcoActive-Filter?
The EcoActive-Filter is a revolutionary patented Polti water filter. The EcoActive-Filter uses the natural cleaning power of water to capture dirt, ensuring that you have
no contact with the dust and preventing it from being dispersed into the environment. It is the bubbling water contained in the special filter that makes cleaning with
Vaporetto even more effective.
This unit conforms with EC-directives 89/336 as amended by 93/68
(EMC) and 73/23 as amended by 93/68 (low voltage).

Dear customer,
Thank you for choosing Polti. In choosing Vaporetto, you have shown that you care
about keeping your home clean and your family healthy, because Vaporetto allows
you to clean all washable surfaces in your home with the power of steam, dissolving
and detaching dirt and suctioning up dust, dust mites and allergens in water.
The exclusive latest generation EcoActive-Filter allows you to pour away dirty water
when you've finished cleaning, without releasing dust into the air. The filtering system also includes a GORE® CLEANSTREAM® filter to retain fine particles, thoroughly cleaning the air coming out of the appliance.
The complete set of professional accessories allows you to solve all cleaning problems quickly and easily. The appliance’s controls are on the handle, for immediate
control without bending down.
With Vaporetto you can decide whether to use steam and suction power together for
a complete cleaning session, suction only to pick up dust efficiently, or steam only
for specific cleaning tasks. A convenient carrying handle makes it easy to move Vaporetto around quickly and safely so you can use its full potential anywhere.
We recommend you read this instruction booklet carefully before using your Vaporetto.

solids as described and in accordance with the
instructions provided in this manual.
Please read these instructions carefully and
keep them, as you may find them useful in future.
Polti declines liability for any damage or accident derived from any use of Vaporetto
which is not in conformity with the instructions contained in this booklet.
ATTENTION:
Danger of burns!
• Do not put any detergent or chemical substance in the boiler. Water by its nature contains magnesium, mineral salts and other deposits which in hard water areas can
contribute to limescale build up in the tank.
To avoid these problems, it is necessary to
swill out with tapwater and empty the generator tank after every 3 or 4 uses.In very hard
water areas we recommend the use of our
KALSTOP FP 2003, a special natural-base
decalcifier which inhibits and breaks down
limescale, making it easy to remove just by
swilling out the tank with a little tapwater.
This is a preventive against scale build-up
and protects the metal walls of the steam
generator tank. KALSTOP is available from
Polti dealers or by mail-order from your Polti
Service Centre.
• If you iron sitting down, do not place your
legs under the ironing board, the steam can
cause burns.
• Iron only on heat resistant surfaces and on
surfaces that allow the steam to escape e.g.
mesh ironing boards.
• For iron stand replacement use only original
spare parts.
• Check that the continuous steam request
button is switched off before connecting the
appliance to the mains.
• The iron must be used and rested on a stable surface.
• When placing the iron on its stand, make
sure that the surface on which the stand is
placed is stable.

BIOECOLOGICO
TIP FOR USING THE ACCESSORIES
NB DO NOT USE BIOECOLOGICO OR ANY
OTHER PRODUCT IN THE STEAM GENERATOR TANK, USE IT ONLY IN THE WATER
CONTAINER (20)
Bioecologico is available for sanitising while
using the suction function. It is a scented antibacterial product with natural-based anti-allergenic substances. If it is added regularly to the
water in the water container (20) of the Vaporetto, it will prevent the proliferation of bacteria and micro-organisms and inhibit the action
of allergens. In addition to assuring a sanitising
action, Biecologico will eliminate smells due to
the presence of dust in the water, leaving a
pleasant smell of cleanness in the room.
Use:add 8 ml each time you fill the watercontainer.
Bioecologico is sold by Polti dealers or by our
authorised Assistance Centres.
Bioecologico is available in two different fragrances: Pine and Citrus.
Before treating leather, special fabrics (especially dralon and velvet) or wooden surfaces
with steam, consult the manufacturer’s instructions and always proceed only after carrying
out a test on a hidden part or a sample. Allow
the area treated with steam to dry and then
check whether any changes in colour or deformations have occurred before proceeding further, ensuring exactly the same steam power
and distance as in the test.
When cleaning wooden surfaces (furniture,
doors, etc.) and brick floors always proceed
with caution since excessive use of steam
could damage the wax, the polish or the colour
of the surface to be cleaned. It is therefore advisable to apply the steam to these surfaces
only for short periods at a time or to clean them
with a cloth that has been treated with steam.
On particularly delicate surfaces (e.g. synthetic
materials, enamelled surfaces, etc.) we
strongly recommend using the steam at its lowest output power. When cleaning glazed surfaces, if the weather is particularly cold preheat the glass working at distance of about 50
cm away from the surface. To take care of your
plants, we recommend spraying them from a
distance of at least 50 cm.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Before carrying out any type of maintenance
make sure that the power cable has been disconnected from the mains.
After using the brushes it is advisable to allow
the bristles to cool in their natural position so as
to avoid them getting deformed in any way.
Check the conditions of the gaskets located inside the monobloc plug (B2) periodically.
If necessary, replace them with the appropriate
spares. Also carry out the same check on the
gaskets for connecting the extension tubes (D)
and the handle (A2).
To clean the outside of the appliance, just use a
damp cloth. Do not use solvents or detergents
as these might damage the plastic surface.
IMPORTANT NOTE
• Do not leave the iron unattended whilst connected to the mains.
• Iron only on heat resistant surfaces and on
surfaces that allow the steam to escape e.g.
mesh ironing boards.
• In case of accidental fall of the appliance it is
necessary to have it checked by an authorized service center as the internal safety features may have been affected.
• ATTENTION: if you iron sitting down, do not
place your legs under the ironing board, the
steam can cause burns.

The turbo brush uses a turbine system which
operates on suction power only, without electricity.
The turbo brush increases the effectiveness
and efficiency of suction on soft furnishings
such as carpets and fitted carpeting since it
combines suction with a mechanical action to
remove dust and dirt (organic and inorganic)
and fibres (hair, etc.). By using the turbo-brush
on carpets you can refresh the fibres thanks to
the action of the roller, which separates them
so that the cleaner can reach right down into
the carpets.
The turbo brush can be used as a traditional
brush on hard surfaces since it has a by-pass
system which diverts the air flow directly to the
suction pipe.
Use: A cursor on the back of the turbo brush
permits you to adapt it to any kind of surface:
slide the cursor (TB1) to the left for hard surfaces, and slide it to the right for carpets and fitted carpeting. The cursor adjusts the speed of
the turbine system: when it is moved completely to the right, the turbine works at the maximum rotation speed, while when it is moved
completely to the left there is no rotation and
the brush operates as a normal floor brush.
The turbine can be easily accessed for cleaning thanks to the practical flap (fig.12).
