Frequently asked questions

Rotate the Function switch to the 400AAC position, open the jaw, enclose the conductor, and read the current value in the display.

Slide the input shutter up, rotate the Function switch to the V position, select AC or DC Voltage, connect the test leads, and read the voltage value in the display.

Remove the battery compartment door, replace the 9V battery, and secure the door.

Do not exceed the maximum allowable input range, do not apply voltage when resistance function is selected, set the function switch OFF when not in use, remove the battery if storing for longer than 60 days, always set the function switch to the appropriate position before measuring, do not measure current on a circuit whose voltage exceeds 600V, and always disconnect the test leads before changing ranges.

Rotate the Function switch to any measurement position, place the detector probe tip on the conductor, and if AC voltage is present, the NCV detector light will turn on.
