Battery Contacts LA Au recharge non-rechargeable batter-
Bent or dirty contacts may result in loss of
power. If battery does not fit correctly, gently
bend back metal contact as shown in diagram.
» Do not short-circuit terminals.
~ Remove rechargeable batteries before
recharging. Recharge batteries only under
adult supervision.
~ Dispose of batteries safely.
IMPORTANT DISPOSABLE BATTERY INFORMATION
+ Insure that battery polarity is correct.
» Use only batteries of the type recommended
(or equivalent).
Do not mix old and new batteries.
~ Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc),
or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
+ Remove used-up batteries immediately.
Remove batteries if vehicle will not be used
for a long period.
~ For best performance use alkaline batteries
NOTE: The batteries used in the 6V DP Power
Clip will gradually lose power over their life-
time. You will notice a decrease in perfor-
mance as this occurs. The 6.0V Jet Turbo
rechargeable NiCd battery pack will run at a
sustained high power level for virtually its
entire run time.

BATTERY CHARGING/CARE —
6.0V JET TURBO” BATTERY
This economical system is the only recharge-
able NiCd battery pack and charger made to
power your TYCO* R/C vehicle.
Rechargeable up to 1,000 times!
This vehicle uses a Nickel-Cadmium battery
pack. Must be recycled or disposed of properly.
1. Plug wall pack charger into standard wall
outlet.
2. Click the battery pack into the charger. Make
certain the battery pack is secure in charger.
3. To disconnect, push the red button on the
side of charger and simultaneously slide bat-
tery pack out.
4. After charging for 4 hours, the battery will
feel warm. This condition is normal for fully
charged batteries.
Cd NiCd
5. New battery packs must be charged for 5%
hours the first two times charged.
Subsequent charges will require only 4
hours. Charging the battery pack for more
than 4 hours will not give you a longer run-
ning time. 4 hours is all that is required for a
fully charged battery pack. |
6. Unlike alkaline batteries, where the power
loss is gradual, a NiCd (Nickel-Cadmium)
battery will run for its normal running time
and then lose most of its power at once. It is
time to recharge the battery pack.
7. After use, the battery pack will be hot! Wait
at least 20 minutes until the battery pack
cools before recharging. Recharging a warm
or hot battery pack will greatly reduce the
number of times your battery pack can be
recharged.
THIS PRODUCT USES A NICKEL-CADMIUM RECHARGEABLE BATTERY PACK. BATTERY MUST BE RECYCLED OR DISPOSED OF PROPERLY.
FOR FURTHER INFORMATION REGARDING BATTERIES OR THEIR DISPOSAL PLEASE CALL 1-800-348-0751.
CAUTIONS:
~ DO NOT RECHARGE BATTERY PACK IF IT'S
HOT. ALLOW IT TO COOL BEFORE
RECHARGING.
® » DO NOT RECHARGE A BATTERY PACK THAT
SHOWS LEAKAGE OR CORROSION.
~ DO NOT DISASSEMBLE THE BATTERY
PACK. THE BATTERY PACK IS A SEALED
RECHARGEABLE NICKEL-CADMIUM BAT-
TERY.
~ DO NOT DISPOSE OF THE BATTERY PACK
IN FIRE.
~ EXERCISE CAUTION IN HANDLING A HOT
BATTERY PACK.
~ IF BATTERY PACK AND/OR CHARGER ARE
WET, THOROUGHLY DRY BEFORE CHARG-
ING.
~ DO NOT RECHARGE NON-RECHARGEABLE
BATTERIES.
~ DO NOT USE THE 6V DP POWER CLIP WITH
THE 6.0V JET TURBO CHARGER.
SPECIAL NOTE TO ADULTS:
* Remove rechargeable batteries before
recharging. Recharge batteries only under
adult supervision.
* Regularly examine for damage to the plug,
enclosure and other parts. In the event of any
damage, the toy must not be used with the
transformer until the damage has been
repaired.
* This toy is not intended for children under 3
years old. The transformer is not a toy.
* Press RED Button on side of charger to

OPERATING YOUR VEHICLE
+ QUICK START
1. Start with fresh batteries (or a full charge).
2. Turn vehicle switch ON. Press transmitter
controls to run and control your vehicle.
3. When you're done driving, turn vehicle
power switch OFF. Remove all batteries for
storage.
Tips & Hints
1. The radio circuitry in your vehicle and trans-
mitter is sensitive. Do not store vehicle or
transmitter near heat or in direct sunlight.
After each use, remove any water or mois-
ture from vehicle using a clean dry cloth.
2. Operate your vehicle only in calm, clear
water. Pools and shallow ponds are recom-
mended. Do not operate in salt water. Do not
expose vehicle to water unless the battery
compartment cover is properly closed and
latched.
3. After about 20 minutes of running time, you
should pay close attention to your vehicle's
location, making sure that it’s close to the
water's edge. That way your vehicle will be
able to return safely under its own power.
4. Turn vehicle switch to the OFF position and
remove batteries when not in use.
5. When your vehicle runs erratically, the prob-
lem is usually the result of interference
caused by high tension wires, CB radios, or
other R/C vehicles running nearby on the
same frequency as yours. You may have to
choose an alternative place to race.
6. Do not expose the transmitter to water. If the
transmitter is accidentally exposed to water,
remove the transmitter battery and allow the
transmitter to air-dry. Replace with a fresh
battery before resuming operation.
Safety Precautions
Adults, this toy is recommended for children 5
years of age and older. To ensure that the
child's play is both safe and fun, please review
the operating instructions and these general
safety rules with your child. WARNING: Never
allow young children to play in or around water
without adult supervision.
Caution
DO NOT pick up vehicle while in motion.
Keep fingers, hair and loose clothing away
from the propeller drive while the vehicle is
switched ON.
Adult supervision is recommended when this
vehicle is being operated.
To avoid accidental operation, remove all bat-
teries when not in use.
Do not operate near swimmers. Stand away
from the water's edge when operating.
IV. QUICK TIPS
@ When your vehicle starts to lose power, it
may lose functions or performance. It's time
for fresh batteries (or a recharge). Your
vehicle's running time may change depend-
ing on your driving style.
O Radio interference can make your vehicle
run badly. Interference can be caused by
other R/C vehicles running on the same fre-
quency; electrical wires; large buildings; or
CB radios. Try to stay away from these!
O Point your transmitter antenna up - not
down toward your vehicle. If your vehicle
gets too far away, it won't work properly.
O Your vehicle is designed for operation in
fresh water. AVOID SALT WATER OPERA-
TION. DO NOT EXPOSE THE TRANSMITTER
TO WATER.
O Don't store your vehicle near heat or in
direct sunlight. Always turn switches OFF
and remove all batteries for storage.
