Squirrel® Lite – all models
Scope
This technical bulletin describes the following:
•Optimum video settings for Squirrel Lite® deployment
•Correct method for removing the USB memory stick.
•One hour time difference when playing back recordings in File Viewer
•Connecting to Squirrel Lite using a SMART Phone
Description
Where Squirrel® is powered by an external power source and deployed for several weeks,
the hard disk can become full or start overwriting data. Events can also be difficult to identify
When there are many hundreds or thousands of activations.
To overcome this we recommend that the video settings are changes to those described in
this technical bulletin. Squirrel will continually save the last 10 seconds of a recording but will not commit
The images to the hard disk/USB memory stick unless video motion has been detected.
This has two advantages:
1.
2.
Events will be easier to trace
The hard disk capacity will be greatly extended
Some customers have experienced problems playing back USB events in the File Viewer.
The new method of removing the USB memory stick is described in this bulletin.
Some versions of Windows XP/Vista show a one hour time difference when playing back saved msn files
Through the File Viewer. The method of overcoming this is described in this bulletin.
It is possible to connect to Squirrel® Lite using a PDA or SMART Phone.
The method is described in this bulletin.
