1. Introduction
1.1
General information
Congratulations with your choice of an E|S Expansion Tank with Wall Bracket kit.
The product is developed for installation in water borne heating systems and
collector circuits for ground source heat pumps. Maximum internal pressure and
water temperature is 3 bars and 85 degrees C water temperature. The bracket is
equipped with a safety valve kit containing; automatic air purging valve, pressure
meter and safety release valve with 2,5 bars release pressure. The E|S Expansion
Tanks are either 12 or 18 liters volume and are pre pressurized with 2 bars. It is the
installer’s responsibility to calculate the correct expansion volume according to the
heating systems water volume and temperature, in accordance to the industry
standards, and check that the air pressure of the expansion tank is correct. Please
read this manual in its entirety before installing and make use of the product. The
products specification can be updated without prior notice. Please refer to the
information on the products technical label for your product specifications.

Precautions
Installation, removal and maintenance must only be carried out by qualified
personnel.
There can’t be done any structural changes on the product. There is risk of product
damages and/or person injury.
This product can only be used as expansion in water borne heating systems with
temperatures up to 85 degrees and maximum internal pressure of 2,5 bars.
It is the installer’s responsibility to calculate the correct volume of the expansion tank
in accordance to the systems water volume and temperature, and the industry
standards.
It is the installer’s responsibility to check that the air pressure in the expansion tank
is in accordance to the heating system internal pressure.
NOTE 1!
The expansion tank is delivered with a ball valve which makes service and
maintenance of the expansion tank easier, without emptying the system. The ball
valve should only be operated by a qualified installer, and the ball valve lever must
be disconnected from the ball valve after installation. This is to avoid accidental
operation of the ball valve, leaving the water system without expansion.
NOTE 2!
There must be installed a drainage pipe from the pressure release valve down to
floor level in a room with floor drainage.
1.3
Maintenance
Expansion tanks should be checked and controlled on a regular basis, and minimum
in accordance with local industry standards for heating systems. The control should
include checking the pressurization in the expansion tank. If there are damages in
the expansion and it is not fixed, there is a risk of leakage and system damage.
Secondary damages caused by product failure or lack of maintenance are not
covered by the product warranty.

Warranty.
On this product there is 3 years warranty against production or manufacturing
failures.

Location
Find a suitable location for the wall bracket and expansion tank. Take into
consideration that the expansion tank must be available for service issues and
disconnection. Normally the bracket is placed a little bit higher than the top level of
the accumulating water tank. There is 2 pieces 6 mm expansion bolts for concrete
included. For other materials please use other suitable mounting hardware.
Place the wall bracket on the wall and mark where the holes must be drilled. Drill the
holes. Place the expansion bolts in the holes. Refer to figure 1, 2 and 3.

Connection
Apply sealant tape or similar on all male treads on the wall bracket and expansion
tank in accordance to the industry standards. Refer to figure 1, 2 and 3.
Mount the wall bracket on to the expansion bolts and
tighten the nuts. The bracket holes are oval, so the
bracket can be adjusted to perfect vertical position.
Refer to figure 4.
Screw the ball valve on to the expansion tank and tighten it in accordance to the
industry standard.
Fix the expansion tank with the ball valve on to the wall brackets outer connection
point so the expansion tank is «hanging» from the bracket. Tighten it with a wrench
in accordance to the industry standards. Refer to figure 1, 2 and 3.

Connection
Screw the safety kit with the air purging
valve, pressure meter and pressure release
valve, on to the 1 inch connector on the
upper side of the bracket. Tighten it with a
wrench in accordance to the industry
standards. Refer to figure 1.
Straiten the stainless steel coil and screw it on to the wall brackets inner connector.
Connect the lose end of the stainless steel coil to a ¾ inch male connector on the
water tank. Tighten all connections in accordance to the industry standards. Refer to
figure 1, 2 and 3.
After the installation is completed, the
air pressure in the expansion tank is to
be checked and if necessary adjusted
to the correct pressure. The ball valve
must be set in open position. Refer to
figure 1 and 2. Now the system can be
filled and pressurized. Check all
connectors for leakages after the
system is filled and pressurized.
NOTE! After the installation is finished, the ball valve lever must be in open position.
Then the ball valve lever must be disconnected from the ball valve, making
accidental closing of the ball valve impossible. Danger of overpressure and
leakages.
