Automation accessories
RIO600 is a remote I/O unit designed to expand the digital and analog I/O of
ABB’s Relion® series protection relays and to provide I/O for the station
automation device COM600 using IEC 61850 communication. The unit allows
maximum I/O flexibility and provides seamless IEC 61850 connectivity
between the substation binary and analog signals.
COM600 distribution grid
The COM600 is a flexible substation automation device that gathers data
from protection and control devices, such as relays and meters, combining
different communication protocols into one common contact point. This unit
enables local HMI, data concentrator, and advanced smart grid automation
such as FDIR and VVO automation.

Relion® distribution protection

effort, and money. The ABB Autolink fits on a standard ICX cutout body and is

Distribution cutouts, used on overhead distribution systems to provide
overcurrent protection, give visible indication of fuse operation and
sectionalizing break points for maintenance personnel.
Adapted for permanent installation on busbars and naked or insulated metal
conductors in medium voltage systems, the VisiVolt indicates the presence of
voltage to provide a higher level of safety.

ABB’s newest generation recloser with the advanced RER620 control and
integrated web browser for easy programming, the GridShield provides smart
grid technologies such as DNP & IEC 61850 with GOOSE messaging; available

OVR recloser, single & three phase

Provided with the PCD control, the OVR recloser provides single-phase
tripping, reduced maintenance,and increased safety with all electronics
located in the low voltage control cabinet. The OVR is available with singleand three-phase tripping recloser units.

Advance is ABB’s fully C37.20.2 compliant switchgear featuring galvanized
steel construction, hem bending techniques and Delrin arc-quenching contact
design. Advance switchgear is designed with safety, reliability and durability
in mind and is available with many options and configurations to meet
customer’s needs.
Is-Limiter current limiting
The world’s fastest current limiting and switching device rated up to 40 kV,
the IS-Limiter is capable of detecting and limiting a short-circuit current
during the first current rise, i.e. in less than a millisecond. It can be applied in
early system design stages or to increase ratings in existing systems thereby
reducing capital costs and improving system functionality.
ReliaGear® ND
ReliaGear® ND is a new IEEE C37.20.2-1999 compliant, 5 and 15 kV metal-clad
switchgear platform featuring a narrow width, two-high breaker
configurations and the compact, easy to maintain Vmax/A Breaker.

ABB offers a complete range of power and distribution transformers designed
to grant the reliability, durability, and efficiency required in utility, industrial,
and commercial applications. ABB’s liquid-filled transformers are
manufactured in accordance with the most demanding industry and
international standards. Transformers can be used for indoor or outdoor
applications and can be provided with off-load and on-load tap changers.

ABB’s proven design offers excellent mechanical strength that has been
proven through years of service and special testing. ABB uses a low frequency
heating insulation drying process where the insulation is dried in its own tank
and is never exposed to the atmosphere once it dries. The product scope
offers rated power up to 10,000 kVA, rated voltage up to 34.5 kV, cooling type
including ONAN, ONAF and ODAF as well as available fluids including mineral
oil and ester fluids (natural and synthetic).

ABB offers a full range of dry-type transformers with primary voltages
through 72.5 kV built according to all major standards including IEC and ANSI.
To minimize environmental contamination and fire hazard, customers are
specifying dry-type transformers more frequently. These transformers meet
strict parameters with respect to electrical system demands and functioning
in areas with extreme climatic conditions. ABB’s dry and cast transformers are
virtually maintenance free and are manufactured in accordance with industry
and international standards including ISO 9001.
Submersible dry network,
ventilated dry network up to 1
ABB has completed the development of the dry-type transformer intended for
network applications, even submersible. The unit is inside of a completely
sealed tank and both tank and active assembly have been designed and tested
to the IEEE C57.12.40 standard for network transformers (amended for drytype features). The absence of oil eliminates the threat to the surrounding
environment during an internal failure.

ABB’s pole-mounted distribution transformers are mounted above ground on
poles. These transformers typically service urban and rural residential and
commercial loads. Other are light industrial and commercial lighting
applications. ANSI pole-mounted transfomers are available in a continuously
self-protected (CSP) version from continuous overload and network
protection from transformer faults.
