1.1
Notes on operating instructions
DVD
These operating instructions contain important notes on how to operate
theENTityVL-ImagingCaptureSuitesafely,correctlyandeffectively.Their
reading helps to avoid risks, and also to reduce repair costs and down-times.
That increases, amongst other things, the reliability and service-life of the
software.
These operating instructions serve not only for new operating personnel to be
instructed in its use, but also for use as a reference manual. Reproduction of
these instructions – even in part – only with the written permission of Optim.
These operating instructions must always be kept available near the device.
ƒƒPrior to start-up please peruse chapter 2.0 "For your safety“, in order to be
prepared for any possible dangerous situations.

Prior to dispatch, the ENTity VL - Imaging Capture Suite software was subjected to an extensive functional test
and has been carefully packed. Nevertheless, please compare the contents of the shipment on completeness
immediatelyuponreceipt(seedeliverynote).

2.0 For your safety
ƒƒThe ENTity VL - Imaging Capture Suite may only
be used by trained personnel which have been
authorized and trained by Optim. It must only be
used in a supervised working surrounding (IEC
60601-1/EN 60601-1)
ƒƒWhen manually saving the pictures attention must
be paid that they are assigned to the matching
patients. It lies within the duty of care of the operator.
ƒƒIt is the operator's responsibility to save the produced data.

3.2
Installation
The installation of the software may only be performed by authorized Optim service partners.
Please ensure that full administrative rights are granted for the user in order to be able to install the software
and drivers. Read and write permission for the working partition C:\ and the data storage partition are essential for the function of the diagnostic software.
Follow the steps as described below to perform the installation:
• Place the Installation-CD in a CD or DVD drive, the software starts automatically. If not, it can also be
activatedbyinstallingtheexefilemanually.
• Click at the button "Next".
 The software will be installed.

3.3Options
Click on the button
"Options" to go to the
adjustments menu.
3.4
Camera configuration
Click the tab "camera" to do the necessary adjustments. In order to do this the camera must be installed and
connected to the device.

Adjustments to the camera settings should only be performed by experts.

3.12 External components
Click on the tab "Advanced".
Check the connections: Activate the external component, e.g. ENTity VL - Video Laryngoscope. When the
component is connected correctly the respective box turns green.

3.13 Licensing with ENTity VL - Imaging Capture Suite Dongle
You will require a Dongle, in order to have unrestricted use of the software only then can cameras be used
andpicturesorfilmsrecorded.
To perform the licensing via the ENTity VL - Imaging Capture Suite Dongle follow the steps below:
1. Install the software according to the operating instructions.
2. Connect the USB-Dongle with a free USB socket on
your computer.
3. Start the ENTity VL - Imaging Capture Suite

The software cannot be licensed without a correctly connected dongle.
Note:
Prior to every start with the ENTity VL - Imaging Capture Suite the Dongle must be connected as
otherwise the licensing cannot be performed.
4.0 Operation
4.1
Basic functions
Button for freeze
frame or activating

 Selection button will jump one frame each time the button is used.

Openfiles→ Loading of archived measurements

Closefiles→ Saving of measurements

 Open options

 Open the patient management (only in connection with the "BDE"
software)

 Exit the programme

4.2
Editing of images and videos
The editing menu for images and videos can be started either by pressing the F10 key on your keybord or by
clicking on the right mouse key and by selecting post processing.
4.2.1 Editing images
 Place diagnosis marker

ƒƒTo perform editing work on your images click on
the necessary function.
ƒƒClick with pressed Shift-key to select the position
for marking tasks and texts.
ƒƒBy turning the scroll-wheel on the mouse and with
pressed Shift-key the size of the text and objects
can be scaled.
ƒƒTo change the colour click on the "select colour"
button, select the colour and click on the object to
be changed with pressed Shift-key.
ƒƒTo place text on the image select the "open text
field"buttonandtypeinthetext.Byclickingon
the image with pressed Shift-key the text can be
placed.
ƒƒBy clicking on the button "adopt editing"
the changes on the image will be applied.
Subsequently objects which are already positioned
can no longer be processed.

Videos must be saved prior to editing.
ƒƒBy pressing the button "Select the start point" the start of the video can be chosen.
ƒƒBy pressing the button "Select the end point" the end of the video can be chosen.
ƒƒToplaceacommentclickonthebutton"Opentextfield"andenteryourtext.Toplacethetextonthe
video click on the image with pressed Shift-key.
ƒƒTo change the colour of a comment click on the button "Select colour". Select the desired colour. By clicking on the comment with pressed Shift-key the colour of the comment is changed.
ƒƒBy clicking on the button "Adopt editing" the changes on your video will be saved.
Note:
The video is editable so long as the button "Adopt editing" has not been clicked.
Note: Theeditedvideoisnotfinallysaveduntilthebutton"savechanges"whichappearswhenclosingthe
application is selected.

4.3 Patient management
 By clicking the button “Patient” the patient
management can be opened.

If the ENTity VL - Imaging Capture Suite is not integrated into a practice EDP then the patient data can be
entered over the patient management.
When there is an integration into the practice EDP, (GDT interface) all patient data will be automatically adopted.

If you wish to save the examination results then a link to the patient must be established.
4.3.1 The patient management form
In the tab "Table" all currently saved patients are listed.






 Search via patient number.
 Search via surname.
Searchviafirstname.
 If you click on the button "Without patient data"
you will continue without a patient data.
 Window closes without selecting a patient.
 "Ok" opens the previously selected patient.
Via the register "New" patients can be added.



 Enter patient number.
 Enter surname.

Enterfirstname.



 Enter date of birth.
 If you click on the button "Without patient data" you will continue without a patient data.
 Window closes without selecting a patient.
 Click "Ok" the previously selected patient is adopted.
Via the tab "Change" you can process previously
entered patient data.





 Save changes.
 Delete patient.
 If you click on the button "Without patient data"
you will continue without a patient data.
 Window closes with no changes to the patient.
 "Ok" the previously processed patient is adopted.

4.4
Functions of the operator buttons on the ENTity VL - Video
Laryngoscope handle
The upper button is used to take / freeze the picture
or to reactivate the camera to take a new picture.
Press the button to freeze, press the button again to
reactivate the camera.
The lower button is used to skip frames. Each time
the button is pressed, the software will move to the
next frame.
Optionvideorecording(ENTityVL-ImagingCaptureSuite)

 By clicking on the camera button the video function will be activated.
Via the two buttons on the ENTity VL - Video Laryngoscope the recording can be started resp. stopped.

4.5
User interface
 The user interface of the ENTity VL - Imaging
Capture Suite is simply structured to enable easy
documentation of diagnostic results


The major part of the screen is occupied by the live
picture taken by the camera. It can be frozen by
pressing the upper button.
Measurement data can be saved in a measurement
database and can be optionally exported to a
practice EDP.
 The documentation can either be stored
electronically as data files in PDF or Word format or
just as well be printed out immediately.
Download images, respectively films and press „F10“
or “right-click” to select “image processing”.
4.6
Printout and documentation
Documentations can either be saved as electronic data files or as paper printouts. The data file can be saved
as Word or PDF files.
Mircosoft Word and Adobe Reader are not included in the scope of supply.
The PDF file will be created automatically when the PDF-Button is clicked.
Use “Ctrl + v” to
paste the pictures
of the ENTity VL Imaging Capture
Suite into the
Word document.
To create a Word document, click the
“Word-Button” and an empty document
will open.
Now the document can be handled like any other
Word document.
