Do not allow the power plug to face upward or to be squeezed at the back of the refrigerator. Water may be flown into or the plug may be damaged, which causes fire or electric shock. Prevent the power cord from being squeezed or imprinted if the refrigerator is pushed in after the power plug is extracted during the installation. It becomes the cause of fire or electric shock. When moving your appliance away from the wall, be careful not to roll over or damage the power cord. 5 Do not allow the power cord bent or pressed by the heavy object to be damaged. It may damage the power cord to cause fire or electric shock. Do not extend or modify the length of the power plug. It causes electric shock or fire by the electric damage of the power cord or others. NO NO Unplug the power plug when cleaning, handling or replacing the interior lamp of the refrigerator. • It may cause electric shock or injury. • When replacing the interior lamp of the refrigerator, make sure that the rubber ring for preventing the electric spark within the socket is not taken off. Consult a qualified electrician or service person if the grounding instructions are not completely understood, or if you have doubts on whether the appliance is properly grounded or not. It becomes the cause of fire. 6 More than 30 inches When the power cord or the power plug is damaged or the holes of the outlet are loosed, do not use them. When the material with the strict temperature control is stored, it may be deteriorated or it may make an unexpected reaction to cause any risk. NO Do not use the combustible spray near the refrigerator. It may cause fire. Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance. Avoid the heating devices. Install in places away from the fire such as the place where flammable gas is leaked. It may cause fire. Do not place flower vase, cup, cosmetics, medicine or any container with water on the refrigerator. Your model may not include every option. 13 1. Select a good location.Place your fridge-freezer where it is easy to use. Keep it at a proper distance More than 5cm to back 2. Avoid placing the unit near heat sources, direct sunlight or moisture. 3. To ensure proper air circulation around the fridge -freezer, please maintain sufficient space on both the sides as well as top and maintain at least 2 inches (5cm) from the rear wall. 4. There must be proper air circulation around your fridge-freezer to keep it operating efficiently. 5. To avoid vibration, the unit must be leveled. If required, adjust the leveling screws to compensate for the uneven floor. The front should be slightly higher than the rear to aid in door closing. Leveling screws can be turned easily by tipping the cabinet slightly.Turn the leveling screws counterclockwise ( ) to lower the unit, clockwise( ) to raise it. Raise Lower 6. To put the refrigerator in the stop state, press “ lights up. When you press the other buttons when the refrigerator is locked, the “ ” will flash 3 times to notify the current lock condition. * Lock * Lock * Lock * Lock * Lock LOCK 17 UNLOCK The Wi-Fi button, when used with the LG Smart ThinQ application, allows the refrigerator to connect to a home Wi-Fi network. • The Wi-Fi icon shows the status of the refrigerator’s network connection. The icon illuminates when the refrigerator is connected to the Wi-Fi network. Setting Wi-Fi • Press and hold the Wi-Fi button for 3 seconds to connect to the network. The icon blinks while the connection is being made, then turns on once the connection is successfully made. • When the refrigerator compartment door is left open or not closed completely for more than 1 minute, it sounds 3 times every 30 seconds. • If the warning sound remains after the refrigerator door, Multi-Use compartment drawer or freezer door is closed, contact your local service center. Self-diagnosis function operates when a problem occurs in the unit. When an error occurs in the unit. Immediately contact the service center without turning the power OFF. If the power is OFF, it will take the engineer longer to find out where the fault occurs. The pressing of any function buttons will not alter the temperature setting when a fault occurs. Memory feature When the power comes on again after a power failure, it is able to recall the last settings of refrigerator temperature, Refrigerator ECO, freezing temperature, multi-use compartment ECO and multi-use compartment temperature. However, the Super Freezing can not be memorized. If the unit is in the Super Freezing state when the power is off, the freezing temperature will be set to “-21°C” after the power is recovered. Auto Defroster Function Your refrigerator is frost free, which means there is no need to manually defrost your refrigerator. The wind blows from heater and fan will melt the frost on the surface of the built-in evaporator (invisible from outside) automatically. At the same time, the defrosted water flows down to the evaporating tray which is located in the lower side of the refrigerator and is evaporated automatically. Function Ice making 1. Fill the ice tray with water to 4/5 of its capacity and place it inti the freezing compartment. 2. Twist the both sides of the ice tray so as to remove the ice tray so as to remove the ice cubes easily. Tip ：To remove ice cubes easily, run water on the tray before twisting. Fill with potable water only. Note The actual inner temperature varies depending on the food status, as the indicated setting temperature is a target temperature, not actual temperature within refrigerator. Refrigeration function is weak in the initial time. Please adjust temperature as above after using refrigerator for minimum 2~3 days. 18 Refrigerator compartment Shelf In order to store tall foods, move the shelves to change the height between them. Lift the inside of the shelf and pull it out to remove the shelf. Install the removed shelf at desired position. Note Remove the items on the shelf before moving it. Multi-Use compartment Multi-Use Compartment When store vegetables and fruits, set the Multi-Use compartment temperature to 1-7°C; When store fish and meat for a short time, set the temperature to below 0°C. Therefore, always check the temperature setting before store food. Small Drawer of Multi-Use compartment Big Drawer of Multi-Use compartment · The small drawer is used to store small package foods, and the large size drawer is used to handle large package foods. The stored foods must not exceed the limited height, otherwise the small drawer will not be placed to it’s correct position and the drawer can not be closed normally. Pull out the lower drawer of the Multi-Use compartment till it cannot move. 2. Remove the small drawer . 3. Raise the whole set of drawers and then pull them out. Take out the whole set of drawers; 4. Wash all the drawers with water and dry it with soft cloth; The drawer of muti-use compartment 5. Install the whole set of drawer, keeping the rollers of the drawer underneath the rollers of the compartment; 6. Install the small drawer. Note Pay attention to the direction when installing the small drawer. It can not be closed if installed in the reverse direction. Dismantle and Cleaning of Freezer Compartment Drawer Raise the front end of the freezer compartment lower drawer, pull out to the front side. Wash the plastic drawer with water, then wipe with a clean soft cloth; Install the plastic drawer in the reverse order. Cleaning of Door and Drawer Gaskets Dirty door seals will get aged and damaged easily and that will cause cold air leakages, so the gaskets of door and drawer should always 。 be clean 24 Care and maintenance Be sure to unplug the power. For products with a stainless steel exterior, use a clean sponge or soft cloth and a mild Detergent in warm water. Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaners. Dry thoroughly with a Soft cloth. Do not use appliance wax, bleach, or other products containing chlorine on stainless steel. Always remove power cord from the wall outlet prior to cleaning in the vicinity of electrical parts (lamps, switches, controls, etc.). Wipe up excess moisture with a sponge or cloth to prevent water or liquid from getting into any electrical part and causing an electric shock. Never use metallic scouring pads, brushes, coarse abrasive cleaners, strong alkaline solutions, flammable or toxic cleaning liquids on any surface. Do not touch frozen surfaces with wet or damp hands, because damp object will stickor adhere to extremely cold surfaces. 25 The Anti-Condensation pipe is installed around the front side of fridge-freezer as well as on the partition between fridge compartment and freezer compartment to prevent dewing. Especially after installation or when ambient temperature is high, the fridge-freezer may feel hot,which is quite normal. Replace the lamp Lighting specifications of this product: refrigerator compartment lamp power: DC12V; In case the lamp is damaged, contact service center to replace it. Use this function only to contact the service representative, not during normal operation. 1 Press the Lock button to activate the lock function. • If the lock function has been activated already, press the Lock button to deactivate the lock function, and then press the Lock button again to activate the lock function. 32 • Position the phone so that its microphone is aligned with the speaker hole. • The Smart Diagnosis™ sound is generated after around three seconds. • Do not take the phone off the speaker hole while the data is transmitted. • Hold the phone to the upper right speaker hole and wait while the data is transmitted. • The data transfer sound may be harsh to the ear while the Smart Diagnosis™ data is being transmitted, but do not take the phone off the speaker hole for accurate diagnosis until the data transfer sound has stopped. • When the data transfer is complete, the transfer completion message is displayed and the control panel is automatically turned off and then on again after a few seconds. After the customer information centre explains the diagnosis result. • The Smart Diagnosis™ function depends on the local call quality. • The communication performance will improve and you can transmit a better signal if you use a land line home phone. • If the Smart Diagnosis™ data transfer is poor due to poor call quality, you may not receive the best Smart Diagnosis™ service.
