LG DT924A is a portable DVD player that lets you watch movies, TV shows, and listen to music on the go. It plays a variety of discs, including DVDs, CDs, and MP3s. You can also connect it to your TV or stereo system using the included cables. The player has a built-in rechargeable battery, so you can use it without having to plug it in. It also has a built-in TV tuner, so you can watch your favorite shows without having to connect it to a cable or satellite box.

ENGLISH OWNER’S MANUAL Portable DVD Player Please read this manual carefully before operating your set and retain it for future reference. DT924A 2 Getting Started Safety Information 1 CAUTION Use of controls, adjustments or the performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure. CAUTION concerning the Power Cord Getting Started RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT OPEN Most appliances recommend they be placed upon a dedicated circuit; CAUTION: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT REMOVE COVER (OR BACK) NO USER-SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE REFER SERVICING TO QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL. That is, a single outlet circuit which powers only that appliance and has no additional outlets or branch circuits. Check the specification page of this owner’s manual to be certain. Do not overload wall outlets. Overloaded wall outlets, loose or damaged wall outlets, extension cords, frayed power cords, or damaged or cracked wire insulation are dangerous. Any of these conditions could result in electric shock or fire. Periodically examine the cord of your appliance, and if its appearance indicates damage or deterioration, unplug it, discontinue use of the appliance, and have the cord replaced with an exact replacement part by an authorized service center. When installing the product, ensure that the plug is easily accessible. This lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated dangerous voltage within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons. The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the product. Getting Started • The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items, such as newspapers, table-cloth, curtains etc. • No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus. • Internal lithium battery in the unit should not be replaced by user because of danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced ,and must be replaced with the same type battery by expert. • Use the apparatus in tropical and moderate climates only. • The excessive sound pressure from earphones and headphones can cause hearing loss. Caution of usage in the car • To prevent electrical shock and possible damage to your unit or vehicle, always unplug the automotive adapter from the cigarette lighter socket before you remove the plug from your unit. • A 3 amp. 250 V fuse for protection is installed in the automotive adapter. • While the engine is being started, disconnect the automotive adapter from the car’s cigarette lighter socket. • Do not operate your unit when the car battery is discharged. Peak current from the car generator may cause the DC fuse to blow. • If the vehicle’s supply voltage drops below approximately 10 volts, your unit may not work properly. • Do not leave your unit in a place where the temperature exceeds 45 °C (113 °F), or the pickup device may be damaged. 3.The correct disposal of your old appliance will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health. 4.For more detailed information about disposal of your old appliance, please contact your city office, waste disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product. Notes on Discs yy Do not touch the playback side of the disc. Hold the disc by the edges so that fingerprints do not get on the surface. This unit can play only DVD disc labelled same as the rear of the unit or “ALL”. Discs such as movies that can be purchased or rented. SKIP (C/V): Goes to the next or previous chapter / track / file. Pinch the battery holder clip together then pull the tab to remove the battery holder. Insert the battery with the + facing in the same direction as the + on the battery holder. Replace the battery holder with battery into the Remote Control unit making sure that it is fully inserted. • Replace Remote Control unit battery with 3 V micro lithium cells such as CR. 2025 or its equivalent. • Dispose of battery safety in accordance with local laws. Revolve the LCD panel clockwise slowly 180 degrees. If you need, fold the LCD panel after revolving it. To revolve the LCD panel to its original position, open the LCD panel to a vertical position. Revolve the LCD panel counterclockwise slowly 180 degrees. yy When finished using the unit, return the LCD panel to its original position. yy Do not leave the LCD panel in the face-up position, or sudden shocks may damage it. Automotive Adaptor (1) Battery for Remote Control (Lithium Battery) (1) Rechargeable battery yy The internal rechargeable battery provides you with the freedom to pass it around and play the files without the power cord. yy The internal rechargeable battery will start charging only when the unit is turned off and the AC adaptor is connected to a power outlet. Antenna (1) AC Adaptor (MPA-20P) (1) • The actual AC Adaptor may differ from the drawing. Headrest Mounting Bracket (1) Revolving the LCD panel You can revolve the LCD panel of the unit clockwise a maximum of 180 degrees for use. You can also operate the unit after revolving the LCD panel 180 degrees and folding it back down. To revolve the LCD panel, place the unit on a stable and even surface such as on a table. Push the LCD panel up and then lift it into a vertical yy The charging stops if you turn on the unit. yy The charging will take approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. yy Operating time on battery: approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes. The operating time on battery may vary depending on the battery status, operational status and environment conditions, and the maximum playing time is possible up to 5 hours. yy When the remaining time of the battery power is under a few minutes, “ Check Battery” will blink on the screen. Connecting Connecting the AC Adaptor Connect the unit to the power supply with the supplied AC Adaptor. • Contact an electrical parts distributor for assistance in selecting a suitable Automotive Adaptor. • This Automotive Adaptor is manufactured by NANJING WANLIDA TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD. Connecting Audio and Video cable Connect the AV OUT on the unit to AV cable connected from TV with the supplied AV Adaptor. Audio/Video Cable (not supplied) yy Contact an electrical parts distributor for assistance in selecting a suitable AC plug adaptor or AC cord set. (White) (Red) (Yellow) yy This AC adaptor is manufactured by NANJING WANLIDA TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD. ,,Note Only use the AC adaptor supplied with this device. Do not use a power supply from another device or another manufacturer. Using any other power cable or power supply may cause damage to the device and void your warranty. Connecting the Automotive Adaptor Connect the unit to the Cigarette lighter socket with the supplied Automotive Adaptor. ,,Note The signal does not come out from AV OUT jack when the unit is set to [TV] mode. Connecting the TV Antenna For TV viewing, connect the TV antenna to the TV ANT jack on the unit as shown below. OR Plug into the car’s cigarette lighter socket. 2 Connecting Plug into a power source. 11 12 System Setting Settings When the unit is turned-on at the first time, you have to select the desired language. (optional) Adjust the Setup Settings You can change the settings of the unit in the [Setup] menu. 1. Press SETUP. 2.Use w/s to select the first setup option, and press d to move to the second level. 3 3.Use w/s to select a second setup option, and press d to move to the third level. System Setting 4.Use w/s to select a desired setting, and press ENTER (b) to confirm your selection. [DISPLAY] Menu TV Aspect Select which screen aspect to use based on the shape of your TV screen. [4:3]: Select when a standard 4:3 TV is connected. [16:9]: Select when a 16:9 wide TV is connected. Display Mode If you selected 4:3, you’ll need to define how you would like widescreen programs and films to be displayed on your TV screen. [LANGUAGE] Menu [Letterbox]: This displays a widescreen picture with black bands at the top and bottom of the screen. Menu Language [Panscan]: This fills the entire 4:3 screen, cropping the picture as necessary. Select a language for the Setup menu and onscreen display. Disc Audio/Subtitle/Menu Select a language for the Disc Audio/Subtitle/ Menu. [Original]: Refers to the original language in which the disc was recorded. [Other]: To select another language, press number buttons then ENTER (b) to enter the corresponding 4-digit number according to the language code list. (See page 21) If you make a mistake while entering number, press CLEAR to delete numbers then correct it. [Off](for Disc Subtitle): Turn off Subtitle. System Setting 13 [AUDIO] Menu [OTHERS] Menu DRC (Dynamic Range Control) DivX(R) VOD Make the sound clear when the volume is turned down (Dolby Digital only). Set to [On] for this effect. ABOUT DIVX VIDEO: DivX® is a digital video format created by DivX, LLC, a subsidiary of Rovi Corporation. This is an official DivX Certified® device that plays DivX video. Visit divx.com for more information and software tools to convert your files into DivX videos. Vocal Set to [On] only when a multi-channel karaoke DVD is playing. The karaoke channels on the disc mix into normal stereo sound. [LOCK] Menu Firstly, you have to create the 4-digit password on [Area Code] to use the LOCK menu. [Register] Displays the registration code of your player. [Deregister] Deactivate your player and display the deactivation code. Rating Select a rating level. The lower the level, the stricter the rating. Select [Unlock] to deactivate the rating. Password Sets or changes the password for lock settings. Area Code To input the standardized area code referring the Area Code List on page 20. 3 System Setting ,,Note If you forget your password you can reset it. First, remove the disc in the unit. Display setup menu then input the 6-digit number “210499”. The password is deleted. ABOUT DIVX VIDEO-ON-DEMAND: This DivX Certified® device must be registered in order to play purchased DivX Video-on-Demand (VOD) movies. To obtain your registration code, locate the DivX VOD section in your device setup menu. Go to vod. divx.com for more information on how to complete your registration. 14 Operating Viewing a TV Channel Auto Tuning Automatically finds all channels available through the ‘Antenna In’ source and stores all the active channels found. Select “Auto Tuning” option then press ENTER (b) to start auto tuning. 1. Select [TV] mode using MODE button. 2. Press SETUP to display [TV SETUP] menu. 3. Select [CH. SYSTEM], and press d. 4. Select a TV System (PAL B/G,PAL/I, PAL D/K or SECAM B/G, SECAM D/K) 5. Select [AUTO SCAN], and press d. 6. When [START] is highlighted, press ENTER (b) to start auto tuning. 4 Operating Manual Tuning You can edit a channel using [Manual Tuning] option in the [TV SETUP] menu. 1. Select [TV] mode using MODE button. 2. Press SETUP to display [TV SETUP] menu. 3. Select [CHANNELS], and press d. 4. When [START] is highlighted, press ENTER (b) to display [Manual Tuning] menu. 5. Use w/s to select a menu and use a/d to select a value of the item to be set. yy [CH. No]: Selects a channel number. yy [Fine]: Selects a frequency to obtain a clear picture. yy [Band]: Selects a channel band. (VHF H, VHF L or UHF) yy [Skip]: Sets the channel to the skipped channel. The channel cannot be selected using the CH +/- button during TV viewing. yy [Manual]: Searches for a channel automatically. Searching stops when the unit tunes in a channel. Channel Selection You can select channels as described below. If the TV channel is not set, use [AUTO SCAN] option in [TV SETUP] menu. yy Use CH +/- to select a channel through the channels in memory. yy Use number (0-9) buttons to select a channel directly. yy Press RETURN (x) to return to the previous channel you viewed. ,,Note Notes on the TV receiving signal If the TV receiving signal is poor, it may appear following symptoms. yy Screen is shaked. yy Faded in double or triple. yy Field gets bad gradually. yy Color appears or disappears. yy Screen is spotted. yy Stripes appear. yy Sound of noise is occurred.
