Connecting
to a TV
Make one of the following connections, depending on
the capabilities of your existing equipment.
When using the COMPONENT/PROGRESSIVE
SCAN VIDEO OUT jacks, set TV's input to COMPONENT VIDEO.
When using the S-VIDEO OUT jack, set the TV' s
input to S-VIDEO.
Set the
Progressive to "On" on the setup menu for
progressive signal, see page 17.
Once the setting for progressive scan output is
entered, an image will only be visible on a progressive

Cleaning
Whenever a video cassette is inserted into or ejected from your VCR the video head is automatically cleaned.
This should mean that additional head cleaning should not be necessary.
However dirt accumulating on the head after a long period of time can cause the playback picture to become blurred
or broken up. High quality video cassette tapes will not normally deposit dirt onto the video head, but old or damaged
tapes might.
