Getting Started 3 CAUTION concerning the Power Cord Most appliances recommend they be placed upon a dedicated circuit; This device is equipped with a portable battery or accumulator. Safety way to remove the battery or the battery from the equipment: Remove the old battery or battery pack, follow the steps in reverse order than the assembly. To prevent contamination of the environment and bring on possible threat to human and animal health, the old battery or the battery put it in the appropriate container at designated collection points. Do not dispose of batteries or battery together with other waste. It is recommended that you use local, free reimbursement systems batteries and accumulators. The battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like. 1 Getting Started That is, a single outlet circuit which powers only that appliance and has no additional outlets or branch circuits. Check the specification page of this owner’s manual to be certain. Do not overload wall outlets. Overloaded wall outlets, loose or damaged wall outlets, extension cords, frayed power cords, or damaged or cracked wire insulation are dangerous. Any of these conditions could result in electric shock or fire. Periodically examine the cord of your appliance, and if its appearance indicates damage or deterioration, unplug it, discontinue use of the appliance, and have the cord replaced with an exact replacement part by an authorized service center. LG Sound Sync Controls volume level of this unit by the remote control of your LG TV that is compatible with LG Sound Sync. Getting Started Playable file Requirement Compatible USB Devices Music file requirement yy The USB function of this unit does not support all USB devices. yy Sampling frequency : within 32 to 48 kHz (MP3), within 32 to 48 kHz (WMA) yy Bit rate : within 32 to 320 kbps (MP3), 40 to 192 kbps (WMA) yy Maximum files : Data CD : 999 / USB : 2000 yy MP3 Player : Flash type MP3 player. yy USB Flash Drive : Devices that support USB2.0 or USB1.1. USB device requirement yy Devices which require additional program installation when you have connected it to a computer, are not supported. yy Do not extract the USB device while in operation. yy Maximum folders : Data CD : 99 / USB : 200 yy For a large capacity USB, it may take longer than a few minute to be searched. yy File extensions : “.mp3”/ “.wma” yy To prevent data loss, back up all data. yy Certain MP3/WMA files may not be played depending on the type or format of the file. yy If you use a USB extension cable or USB hub, the USB device is not recognized. yy CD-ROM file format : ISO 9660/ JOLIET yy Using NTFS file system is not supported. (Only FAT(16/ 32) file system is supported.) yy We recommend that you use Easy-CD Creator, which creates an ISO 9660 file system. The DTS is not supported. In case of DTS audio format, audio is not output. You have to set the disc format option to [Mastered] in order to make the discs compatible with the LG players when formatting rewritable discs. When setting the option to Live File System, you cannot use it on LG players. (Mastered/Live File System : Disc format system for Windows Vista) yy This unit recognizes up to 2000 files. yy External HDD, Card readers, Locked devices, or hard type USB devices are not supported. yy USB port of the unit cannot be connected to PC. B (Open/Close) : Opens and closes the disc tray. PRESET.FOLDER W/S : 1 Getting Started -- Searches for a folder of MP3/WMA files. When a CD/USB containing MP3/WMA files in several folders is being played, press PRESET.FOLDER W/S to select the folder you want to play. -- Chooses a preset number for a radio station. FUNCTION : Selects the function and input source. MUTE @ : Mutes the sound. VOL +/- : Adjusts speaker volume. TUNER MEMORY : -- Stores radio stations. -- Deletes all the saved stations. USB REC : USB direct recording. SLEEP : Sets the system to turn off automatically at a specified time. (Dimmer : The display window will be darkened by half.) Battery Installation Remove the battery cover on the rear of the Remote Control, and insert two (size AAA) batteries with 4 and 5 matched correctly. The tag gives the Title, Artist, Album or Time information. -- Skips Fast backward or Forward. -- Searches for a section within a track/file. Z ENTER : -- Stops playback or recording. -- Cancels DELETE function. d/M (Play/Pause) : -- Starts or pauses playback. -- Selects STEREO/MONO. SOUND EFFECT : Chooses sound impressions. AUTO DJ : Selects the AUTO DJ mode. (For more information refer to page 20) -- Sees the address of connected Bluetooth device in Bluetooth mode. Or when you use an extension cable, it is highly recommended to use an extension cable of 110 V / 15 A or 230 V / 15 A, otherwise the unit may not operate properly because of the lack of power supply. yy Do not overload the extension cord with excessive electrical load. Connecting 13 How to Affix the Ferrite Core Connecting to speakers Ferrite core may not be provided depending on each nation’s regulations. Connect the speaker cable plugs to the SPEAKERS connector. Make sure to connect the speaker’s plug to the corresponding colored speaker connector when connecting the plug. Affix the Ferrite Core for power cord and speaker cables 2 Connecting You must affix a ferrite core in order to reduce or eliminate electrical interference. 1. Pull the stopper [a] of the ferrite core to open. 2. Wind the power cord around the ferrite core once. Wind the SPEAKER LIGHTING SYSTEM cables around the ferrite core once. 3. Close the ferrite core until it clicks. Attaching the speaker light cables to the unit To connect the speaker light cable to the unit, insert the cable to SPEAKER LIGHTING SYSTEM connectors on the unit. >>Caution yy Make sure that the jacks and the speakers are matched correctly. yy Make sure to connect the cables to connectors tightly on the unit. 14 Connecting Stacking the speakers You can listen to the best sound quality when you stack the speakers. Refer to the below. Before stacking You have to position the unit and the speakers before connecting the speakers. Note that the illustrations below are differ from the actual unit. 2 Stacking the speakers Connecting 1. You install Subwoofer speaker on a flat surface. (It is recommended that at least two people to carry by left and right). 2. Attach the rubber foot on the Subwoofer speaker. 3. As shown below, Front speaker place on Subwoofer speaker. >>Caution yy Do not try to lift the speaker alone. It needs two persons to lift the speaker. Otherwise it may result in the speaker malfunction and cause personal injury and/or property damage. yy When you connect the speakers to the unit, make sure to connect the speaker’s cable and plug to the corresponding speaker connector. yy Check the volume level before playing music to prevent infirm, child, and pregnant women from being shocked by the sudden and loud sound from the unit. yy Do not use the unit in a limited space. It may damage a person’s hearing. It is recommended to use it in a wide space. yy Be careful to make sure children not to put their hands or any objects into the opening speaker duct hole. yy The speakers contain magnet parts, so color irregularity may occur on the TV screen or PC monitor screen. Please use the speakers far away from either TV screen or PC monitor. yy Avoid looking at the speaker lights for a long time. It may cause damage to eyesight. ,,Note Do not remove the Rubber foot after the attachment. When it is removed, there will be sticking trace left. Connecting Optional Equipment Connection 15 PORT. IN Connection Connect an output (earphone or line out) of portable device (MP3 or PMP etc) to the PORT. IN connector. AUX IN Connection Connect an output of auxiliary device (Camcorder, TV, Player, etc) to the AUX IN (L/R) connector. 2 Connecting If your device has only one output for audio (mono), connect it to the left audio jack on the unit. Portable cable White Audio cable Red MP3 player etc. Listening to music from your portable player or external device The unit can be used to play the music from many types of portable player or external device. DVD, Blu-ray player etc. 1. Connect the portable player to the PORT. IN connector of the unit. Or Connect the external device to the AUX IN connector of the unit. 2. Turn the power on by pressing 1/!. 3.Press FUNCTION to select AUX or PORTABLE Function. 4. Turn on the portable player or external device and start it playing. 16 Connecting USB Connection Antenna Connection Connect a USB device (or MP3 player, etc.) to the USB ports on the unit. Connect the supplied FM antenna for listening to the radio. USB device Connect the FM wire antenna to the FM antenna connector. 2 FM antenna Connecting ,,Note Removing the USB device from the unit : 1. Choose a different function/mode or press Z ENTER on the remote control or I on the unit twice in a row. 2. Remove the USB device from the unit. ,,Note Be sure to fully extend the FM wire antenna. Operating Basic Operations CD/USB Operations 1. Insert the disc by pressing B Or connect the USB device to the USB port. 2. Select CD or USB function by pressing FUNCTION. To Press C/V on the remote control or Y/U on the unit to go to the next/previous track/file. -- During Playback, (1) By using C/V buttons : Press V on the remote control or U on the unit to go to the next track/file. Skipping to the next/ Playing less than 2 seconds, press previous C on the remote control or track/file Y on the unit to go to the previous track/file. Playing after 3 seconds, press C on the remote control or Y on the unit to go to the beginning of the track/file. (2) By using FILE SEARCH : Rotate FILE SEARCH on the unit and press d/M to play the track/ file. Press REPEAT(MENU) on the Playing remote control repeatedly. Refer repeatedly or to the note for details about the randomly display change. ,,Note yy The display changes in the following order. USB MP3/WMA CD AUDIO CD REPEAT TRK REPEAT TRK REPEAT TRK REPEAT *DIR REPEAT DIR - REPEAT ALL REPEAT ALL REPEAT ALL RANDOM RANDOM RANDOM OFF OFF OFF *DIR : Directory yy When you play JUKE BOX list, only REPEAT TRK and REPEAT ALL are available. yy Even after restarting the unit or switching one function to another, you can listen to music from the point where it’s last been played. yy The next file name is displayed every 30 seconds. (Except RANDOM play, AUTO DJ RANDOM play, the last file of playlist, etc.) yy If you leave the disc tray open for 5 minutes, it will close automatically. 3 Operating Do this Press Z ENTER on the remote Stop control or I on the unit. Press d/M on the remote control Playback or T on the unit. Press d/M on the remote control Pause or T on the unit during playback. Searching Press C/V on the remote for a section control or Y/U on the unit within a track/ during playback and release it at file the point you want to listen to. Selecting Press 0 to 9 numerical buttons on a track/file the remote control to go to the directly desired file or track directly. -- In stop status, 17 18 Operating Auto Play -- AUDIO/MP3/WMA CD is played automatically after Disc tray is open and then closed. -- Automatically switches to the CD function if Disc tray is open and then closed when there is no disc in Disc tray. ,,Note yy CD / USB Folders/Files are recognized as below. * Selecting a folder and an MP3/WMA file On the unit 3 1.Press FOLDER and rotate FILE SEARCH until a desired folder appears. Operating 2.Press ENTER and rotate FILE SEARCH until a desired file appears. Press T to play it. On the remote control 1.Press PRESET.FOLDER W/S on the remote control repeatedly until a desired folder appears. 2.Press d/M to play it. The first file of folder will play. yy If there is no file in a folder, the folder will not appear. yy Folders will be presented as the following order; ROOT FOLDER 1 FOLDER 3 FOLDER 7 FOLDER 8 FOLDER 5 FOLDER 6 yy File will be played from $ file No.1 to $ file No.14 one by one. yy Files and folders will be presented in order recorded and may be presented differently according to the record circumstances. yy *ROOT : The first screen you can see when a computer recognize the USB is “ROOT”. Operating Deleting an MP3/WMA file You can delete file, folder or format by pressing DELETE. This function is supported only in stop status. (USB only) 1. -Select the file you want to delete and press DELETE. -Select the folder you want to delete by pressing FOLDER and rotating FILE SEARCH on the unit and press DELETE. Or select the folder you want to delete by pressing PRESET.FOLDER W/S on the remote control and press DELETE. -Press and hold DELETE to format the USB device. Or Playback effect The unit supports various sound and playback effects : DJ EFFECT, SCRATCH, AUTO DJ. DJ EFFECT It allows you to enjoy DJ EFFECT such as Flanger/ Phaser/Chorus/Delay sound effect. 1. Press DJ EFFECT to select a desired DJ EFFECT (FLANGER, PHASER, CHORUS, DELAY, OFF). 2. Turn DJ EFFECT CONTROL clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust the DJ EFFECT level between 0 to 15. yy The DJ EFFECT mode display for 3 seconds when DJ EFFECT Key is inputed. The display changes in the following order. yy The gage starts at the beginning with an initial 7 level. 2. To delete file/folder or format, press d/M on the remote control or press T on the unit. If you want to exit the current mode, press Z ENTER on the remote control or press I on the unit. >>Caution yy Do not extract the USB device during operation. (play, delete, etc.) yy Regular back up is recommended to prevent data loss. yy The delete function may not be supported according to the USB status. (lock, etc.) yy The current gage level is displayed when adjusting gage. yy If the function changed or the unit is turned off and on, DJ EFFECT mode with DJ EFFECT is turned off. SCRATCH Effect You can output and mix the sound effects of the SCRATCH. Rotating SCRATCH to mix the scratch sound. -- You can hear effect of scratch sound depending on the direction in which you rotate SCRATCH. 3 Operating ,,Note Press DELETE repeatedly during selecting the MP3/WMA file. - DEL FILE? : Deletes file - DEL FOLDER? : Deletes folder - FORMAT? : Formats USB 19 20 Operating AUTO DJ Auto DJ blends the end of one song into the beginning of another for seamless playback. It equalizes volume across tracks/files for uninterrupted playback. Press AUTO DJ on the remote control repeatedly, the display changes as followings. RANDOM (AUTO DJ RANDOM) -> REPEAT ALL (AUTO DJ SEQUENTIAL) -> (AUTO DJ OFF) Mode OFF 3 Display Window (AUTO DJ OFF) Description - Operating RANDOM RANDOM (AUTO DJ RANDOM) The music is played randomly on this mode. REPEAT REPEAT ALL (AUTO DJ SEQUENTIAL) The music is played repeatedly on this mode. ,,Note yy AUTO DJ mode does not support searching for a section within a track/file or to play repeatedly or randomly. yy If you move to other functions or stop the music using I on the unit (or Z ENTER on the remote control) on AUTO DJ mode, AUTO DJ will be disable. yy AUTO DJ is not supported in the music file whose length is less than 60 seconds. yy During recording, AUTO DJ is not available. yy Only AUTO DJ SEQUENTIAL is selected when played JUKE BOX list. Operating Using Bluetooth® wireless technology About Bluetooth Bluetooth® is wireless communication technology for short range connection. The sound may be interrupted when the connection interfered by the other electronic wave or you connect the bluetooth in the other rooms. Bluetooth Profiles In order to use Bluetooth® wireless technology, devices must be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with following profile. A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) Listening to music stored on the Bluetooth devices Pairing your unit and Bluetooth device Before you start the pairing procedure, make sure the Bluetooth feature is activated on your Bluetooth device. Refer to your Bluetooth device’s user guide. Once a pairing operation is performed, it does not need to be performed again. 1. Select the Bluetooth function by using FUNCTION until BLUETOOTH function is selected or pressing BLUETOOTH on the unit. “BLUETOOTH READY” appears on the display window. 2. Operate the Bluetooth device and perform the pairing operation. When searching for this unit with the Bluetooth device, a list of the devices found may appear in the Bluetooth device display depending on the type of Bluetooth device. Your unit appears as “LG CM9550(XX)”. ,,Note yy XX means the last two digits of Bluetooth address. For example, if your unit has a Bluetooth address such as 9C:02:98:4A:F7:08, you will see “LG CM9550(08)” on your Bluetooth device. yy Depending on the Bluetooth device type, some devices may have a different pairing process. Enter the PIN code (0000) as needed. yy You can connect this unit with up to 3 Bluetooth devices simultaneously using the same method as described above, only in the Bluetooth function. yy The multi pairing connection is only supported on Android or iOS devices. (Multi pairing connection may not be supported depending on the connected device specifications.) yy Removable/detachable Bluetooth devices (Ex: Dongle etc.) will not support multi pairing. 3 Operating Connecting individual devices under Bluetooth® wireless technology does not incur any charges. A mobile phone with Bluetooth® wireless technology can be operated via the Cascade if the connection was made via Bluetooth® wireless technology. If you want to get more information to operate, tap [Setting] and turn on the User guide. yy Depending on the Bluetooth device, “Music Flow Bluetooth ” app may not work. 1. (Refer to page 16) Before tuning, make sure to turn down the volume. Listening to the radio 1.Press FUNCTION until FM appears in the display window. The last received station is tuned in. 3 Operating 2. Auto tuning : Press and hold TUNING-/+ on the remote control or Y/U on the unit for about two seconds until the frequency indication starts to change, then release. Scanning stops when the unit tunes in a station. Or Manual tuning : Press TUNING-/+ on the remote control or Y/U on the unit repeatedly. 3. Adjust the volume by rotating volume knob on the unit or by pressing VOL +/- on the remote control repeatedly. Improving poor FM reception Press T on the unit or d/M on the remote control. This will change the tuner from stereo to mono and usually improve the reception. You can preset 50 stations for FM. 1.Press FUNCTION until FM appears in the display window. 2. Select the desired frequency by pressing TUNING -/+ on the remote control or Y/U on the unit. 3.Press TUNER MEMORY on the remote control. A preset number will blink in the display window. 4.Press PRESET.FOLDER W/S on the remote control to select the preset number you want. 5.Press TUNER MEMORY on the remote control. The station is stored. 6. Repeat steps 2 to 5 to store other stations. 7. To listen a preset station, press PRESET.FOLDER W/S or 0 to 9 numerical buttons on the remote control. Deleting all the saved stations 1. Press and hold TUNER MEMORY on the remote control for two seconds. “ERASE ALL?” will flash up on the unit display. 2.Press TUNER MEMORY on the remote control to erase all the saved radio stations. AUTO EQ Realizes the sound equalizer that is the most similar to the genre of which is included in the MP3 ID3 tag of song files. 2. Select Bass, Middle or Treble by pressing USER EQ on the unit while “USER EQ” is displayed. POP CLASSIC JAZZ ROCK This program lends an enthusiastic atmosphere to the sound, giving you the feeling you are at an actual rock, pop, jazz or classic concert. 4. Press USER EQ to save the setting. MP3OPTIMIZER This function is optimized for compressible MP3 file. It improves the treble sound. BASS BLAST Reinforces the treble, bass and surround sound effect. LOUDNESS Improves the bass and treble sound. FOOTBALL You can enjoy the sound effect FOOTBALL STADIUM. FLAT Provides balanced sound. BOOST Boosts the mid-range for sound reinforcement. Start the recording by pressing USB REC on the remote control or USB REC on the unit. - If you connect both USB1 and USB2, press T to record to USB1 or press I to record to USB2. 4. Press it again to restart recording. (Tuner/AUX/AUX-MIC/PORTABLE only) To select recording bit rate and speed 1. Connect a USB device including desired sound files to USB port (1) and select USB 1 Function. 2. Press and hold JUKE BOX on the unit to enter the edit mode. 2.Press PRESET.FOLDER W/S on the remote control to select a track/file to edit. 3.Press C/V to save the track/file. It is supported only on stop status. 4.Press JUKE BOX. 1. Press and hold JUKE BOX to enter the edit mode. 5. Repeat 2 to 3 to store the other tracks/files. 2. Select a track/file by pressing C/V on the remote control or by turning FILE SEARCH on the unit. To play the JUKE BOX list, press d/M after you edit the list. 6.Press JUKE BOX once again. 3 3. Press JUKE BOX to save the track/file. Deleting JUKE BOX list Operating 4. Repeat steps 2 - 3 to store the other tracks/files. (You can modify the list by pressing PRESET. Operating Other Operations Turn off the sound temporarily Press MUTE@ on the remote control to mute your sound. You can mute your unit, for example, to answer the telephone, the mute icon “Q” is blinked in the display window. To cancel it, press MUTE@ again or change the volume level. CHILDSAFE Mode To turn on CHILDSAFE mode, press and hold ENTER on the unit when the volume of the unit is “MIN”. In CHILDSAFE mode, the volume increase gradually. To turn off CHILDSAFE mode, press and hold ENTER on the unit when the volume of the unit is “MIN” and this mode is turned on. ,,Note In case of CD, USB or BLUETOOTH function, CHILDSAFE mode does not work after about 2 minutes from power on the unit even if this mode is enabled. Displaying file information (ID3 TAG) While playing an MP3 file containing file information, you can display the information by pressing INFO. DEMO In the power off state, press BEAT LIGHTING/ DEMO on the unit once. The unit will power on and display the each of functions with demo sound in the display window. To cancel the DEMO function, press BEAT LIGHTING/DEMO once more. ,,Note yy While in DEMO, this unit will keep DEMO status even if you unplug the power cord connection. yy You can enjoy other functions during the DEMO, the DEMO will temporarily pause. - Without input key in 10 sec, the DEMO will play back automatically. 3 Operating This function helps to prevent you from being surprised when you turn on the unit in case that the volume of the unit is set at a high level. 31 32 Operating Using Microphone It is available on the function as follows : CD, USB 1, USB 2, AUX-MIC, LG TV and BLUETOOTH. 1. Connect your microphone to the MIC jack. 2. Play the music you want. 3. Sing along with the accompaniment. Adjust the microphone volume by rotating MIC VOL. clockwise or counterclockwise on the unit. ,,Note 3 yy When not using the microphone, set the MIC VOL. to minimum or turn off the MIC and remove the microphone from the MIC jack. Operating yy If the microphone is set too near the speaker, a howling sound may be produced. In this case, move the microphone away from the speaker or decrease the sound level by using the MIC VOL.. yy If sound through the microphone is extremely loud, it may be distorted. In this case, rotate MIC VOL. to minimum. yy AUX-MIC function enables only your voice to output. Switching on and off the BEAT LIGHTING BEAT LIGHTING : The function is to light automatically to the music sound when music is being played. You can select on/off mode of the speaker light by pressing BEAT LIGHTING/DEMO on the unit. Using X-FLASH X-FLASH : The function is to create an atmosphere of Club by operating lighting automatically or manually when a strong beat music is being played. 1. Press the X-FLASH on the unit. 2. You can X-FLASH level by pressing the X-FLASH. The display window changes each time OFF LEVEL1 OFF LEVEL2 LEVEL3 LEVEL4 3. Play the level you want. ,,Note yy X-FLASH function enables in all functions. yy X-FLASH mode is retained previous mode when you press the X-FLASH. yy X-FLASH effect depend on the LEVEL. yy The BEAT LIGHTING and X-FLASH may not work properly according to Low Input level or Connected external device (Low Volume, Device Type, Play sound source, connection mode, etc.). yy The BEAT LIGHTING and X-FLASH (Level 1) are the LED lights up only during operation (Disc playback, USB playback, Radio Listening, and other external input). It is only possible when the unit is in operation. Operating 33 Setting the Clock 1. Turn the unit on. 2. Press and hold CLOCK. 3. Select time mode by pressing C/V on the remote control. - AM 12:00 (for an AM and PM display) or 0:00 (for a 24 hour display) 4.Press SET to confirm your selection. 5. Select the hours by pressing C/V on the remote control. 6.Press SET. 7. Setting the Clock through “Music Flow Bluetooth” App Install “Music Flow Bluetooth” app on your Android device. (Refer to page 24) Your unit’s clock will be automatically synchronized with your device by activating Bluetooth connection through “Music Flow Bluetooth” app. Using your player as an alarm clock 1. Turn the unit on. Sleep Timer Setting Press SLEEP repeatedly to select delay time between 10 and 180 minutes. After the delay time, the unit will be turned off. To cancel the sleep function, press SLEEP repeatedly until “SLEEP 10” appears, and then press SLEEP once again while “SLEEP 10” is displayed. ,,Note yy You can check the remaining time before the unit is turned off. yy Press SLEEP. The remaining time appears in the display window. 2. Press and hold ALARM. 3. Press C/V on the remote control to change the hours and minutes and press SET to save. 4. Operating 8.Press SET. 3 34 Operating Auto power down This unit will turn itself off to save electricity in the case were the main unit is not connected to an external device and is not used for 20 minutes. The unit will also turn itself off after six hours if the Main unit has been connected to another device using the analog inputs. How to disconnect the wireless network connection or the wireless device. 3 Turn off the unit by pressing the power button for more than 5 seconds. Operating AUTO POWER On This unit automatically turns on by an input source : LG TV or Bluetooth If you try to connect your Bluetooth device, this unit turns on and connects your Bluetooth device. You can play your music. ,,Note yy Depending on the connected device, this function may not operate. yy Depending on the connected device, the unit turns on but Bluetooth function may not be connected. yy If you disconnect Bluetooth connection by this unit, some Bluetooth devices try to connect to the unit continually. Therefore it is recommended to disconnect the connection before turning off the unit. yy If you try to connect to the “Music Flow Bluetooth” app, Bluetooth function of this unit is turned on. yy If you turn on the unit using LG TV or Bluetooth function, proper function of this unit is turned on. yy If you have already paired with this unit, automatically this unit can turn on by an input source when this unit is turned off. yy If you turn off the unit by pressing the power button for more than 5 seconds, Auto Power On function is disabled. To activate it, turn on the unit. Auto function change This unit recognizes input signals such as Bluetooth and LG TV and then changes suitable function automatically. When you try to connect Bluetooth device When you try to connect your Bluetooth device to this unit, Bluetooth function is selected. Play your music on the Bluetooth device. When LG TV is connected When you turn on your LG TV connected by LG Sound Sync, this unit changes the function to LG TV. You can hear the sound from your TV. ,,Note yy This function is not available during recording or deleting. yy This function only works with devices that were previously connected. Operating 35 LG Sound Sync You can control some functions of this unit by your TV’s remote control with LG Sound Sync. It is compatible with LG TV that supports LG Sound Sync. Make sure your TV has the LG Sound Sync logo. Controllable function by LG TV’s remote control : Volume up/down, mute Refer to the TV’s instruction manual for the details of LG Sound Sync. yy You can also use the remote control of this unit while using LG Sound Sync. If you use TV’s remote control again, the unit synchronizes with the TV. yy If the connection fails, check the conditions of this unit and your TV : power, function. yy Make sure of the condition of this unit and the connection in the cases below when using LG Sound Sync. -- Turn off the unit. -- Changing to a different function. -- Disconnecting the wireless connection caused by interference or a distance. yy The amount of time to turn off this unit is different depending on your TV. yy If you try to change the function on using the LG TV function, volume will be change according to the LG TV volume level. yy Details of TV setting menu vary depending on the manufacturers or models of your TV. yy If you connect LG Sound Sync when “Music Flow Bluetooth” app is connected, control through the app is available. yy If you turned off the unit directly by pressing 1/!(Power), LG Sound Sync will be disconnected. To use this function again, you should reconnect the TV and the unit. yy If an LG TV is connected when using Bluetooth, Bluetooth is disconnected and the LG TV is connected. 2. Press FUNCTION until LG TV function is selected. 3. Set up the sound output of TV to listen to the sound through this unit : TV setting menu [Sound] -> [TV Sound output] -> [LG Sound Sync (Wireless)] When the TV is not connected, “LG TV READY” appears on the display window. If the TV and this unit are connected normally, “LG TV PAIRED” will be appear on the display window. 3 Operating ,,Note 1. Turn on the unit by pressing 1/!(Power). 36 Troubleshooting Troubleshooting General Problem Cause & Solution yy Turn off the power of this unit and the connected external device (TV, Woofer, DVD-player, Amplifier, etc.) and turn it on again. The unit does not work properly. yy Disconnect the power cord of this unit and the connected external device (TV, Woofer, DVD-player, Amplifier, etc.) and then try connecting again. yy Previous setting may not be saved when device power is shut off. yy The power cord is not plugged in. Plug in the power cord. No Power. 4 No sound. yy Check whether electricity failed. Check the condition by operating other electronic devices. yy Check whether you select right function. Storing Discs Keeping the exterior surfaces clean After playing, store the disc in its case. Do not expose the disc to direct sunlight or sources of heat and never leave it in a parked car exposed to direct sunlight. Do not use volatile liquids such as insecticide spray near the unit. Wiping with strong pressure may damage the surface. Do not leave rubber or plastic products in contact with the unit for a long period of time. Cleaning Discs Cleaning the unit Fingerprints and dust on the disc can cause poor picture quality and sound distortion. Before playing, clean the disc with a clean cloth. Wipe the disc from the center to out. To clean the player, use a soft, dry cloth. If the surfaces are extremely dirty, use a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not use strong solvents such as alcohol, benzine, or thinner, as these might damage the surface of the unit.
