Channels available from the Air, Cable or DTV channels will be automatically added
to the channel list.
NN DTV Air indicates a digital broadcasting channel loaded in the terrestrial UHF

channel band, which can be received using the UHF antenna.
NN DTV Cable indicates a redirection service of a digital broadcasting channel transferred to
the proprietary channel band (provided by the local cable broadcast providers) through
the cable antenna.
NN If the Channel Lock is set, the PIN input screen appears. The default PIN
number is “0-0-0-0”.
1. Select the Auto Program, press the ENTERE button.
2. Select Start, then press the ENTERE button.
3. Auto Program starts.

How to Stop Auto Programming
1. Press the ENTERE button.
2. A message will ask Stop Auto Program?. Select Yes by pressing the ◄ or ►
button.
3. Press the ENTERE button.
NN Press the ◄ or ► button to select the Scan Again, and then press the
ENTERE button. Auto Program starts again.

Once you have reserved a channel program of your choice with specific date and
time settings, you will switch to the reserved program channel on the scheduled
time and date automatically from the current channel (even if it’s a different
channel).
NN To make a Schedule Viewing, you must specify the current time first.

1. Press the Schedule on the Schedule Manager screen. The Schedule Viewing
menu appears.
2. Press the ▲/▼/◄/► or number buttons to set each option menu.

Set whether to watch 3D channels or not. If you cannot find 3D channels, set 3D
channels using Auto Program. If the current program supports 3D broadcast, an
announcement message appears at the bottom of the screen. Switch the channel
according to the announcement to watch 3D broadcast. Select Off if you do not
want to watch 3D channels.

If Auto Stereo is set to Auto, the audio is automatically switched to stereo or
mono according to the broadcast signal of the channel even if you change the
channel.
Manual: The audio of the current channel is output in mono. The audio

Auto : Automatically sets the sound to stereo or mono depending on availability.

16:9: This is the 16:9 aspect ratio for DVDs or wide-broadcasts.

Zoom1: This is the aspect ratio that stretches the 16:9 aspect ratio vertically.
Zoom2 : This is the aspect ratio that stretches the Zoom1 aspect vertically.
Wide Fit : 4:3 screen is automatically zoomed in to fit the relevant screen size
when viewing digital programs.

4:3: This is the 4:3 aspect ratio of a video or current normal broadcast. If you
select the 4:3 aspect ratio, the blank spaces on the left and right may differ.
NN Do not watch in 4:3 format for a long time. Traces of borders displayed on

burn) which are not covered by the warranty.
Screen Fit: When your TV inputs HDMI (720p / 1080i / 1080p) or Component
(1080i / 1080p) signals, displays the full image without any cut-off.

●● Picture Test: Use to check for picture problems. If the problem continues to

occur, check the Color pattern.
Yes: If the test pattern does not appear or there is noise in the test pattern,
select Yes. There may be a problem with the TV. Contact Samsung’s Call
Center for assistance.
No: If the test pattern is properly displayed, select No. There may be a problem
with your external equipment. Please check your connections. If the problem
persists, refer to the external device’s user manual.
Show Again
for LED TV
: The test picture displays again.

●● Sound Test: Use the built-in melody sound to check for sound problems.
NN If you hear no sound from the TV’s speakers, before performing the sound
test, make sure Speaker Select is set to TV Speaker in the Sound menu.
NN The melody will be heard during the test even if Speaker Select is set to
External Speaker or the sound is muted by pressing the 조용히 button.

Yes: If you can hear sound only from one speaker or not at all during the sound
test, select Yes. There may be a problem with the TV. Contact Samsung’s Call
Center for assistance.
No: If you can hear sound from the speakers, select No. There may be a
problem with your external equipment. Please check your connections. If the
problem persists, refer to the external device’s user manual.

●● Signal Information: (digital channels only) Displays the signal information of
digital broadcasting. An HD channel’s reception quality is either perfect or the
channels are unavailable. Adjust your antenna to increase signal strength.
●● Reset: Reset all settings to the factory defaults except network settings.
NN The PIN input screen appears before the setup screen.
NN Enter your 4-digit PIN. Change the PIN using the Change PIN option
(System→Security→Change PIN).

❑❑ Updating the Software
■■ Software Update

The Software Update menu lets you upgrade your TV’s software to the latest
version.
Current ver.: This is the software version already installed in the TV.
◀
NN Be careful not to turn off the power until the update is complete. The TV will
turn off and on automatically after completing the firmware update. When you
update software, all video and audio settings you have made will return to
their default settings. We advise you to write down your settings so that you
can easily reset them after the update.
NN If the USB is connected to a TV, you can update your TV by USB. Otherwise,
you can update your TV by channel.

●● Update now
To upgrade the By USB, follow these steps:
1. Visit http://www.samsung.com/sec.
2. Download the latest USB software upgrade exe archive to your computer.
3. Extracts the exe archive to your computer. You should have a single folder with
the same name as the exe file.

4. Copy the folder to a USB flash drive.
5. Turn on the TV, and then insert the USB flash drive into the USB port of the TV.
6. In the TV’s menu, go to Support → Software Update.
7. Select Update now.
NN Please be careful not to remove the USB drive until the upgrade is complete.

Upgrading by channel
Downloads and upgrades the software through the channel.
1. Select Update now.
2. Browse to the software to upgrade.
NN It may take some time to browse the software depending on the TV model
or signal strength.

●● Auto Update
You can set the Auto Update function so that the TV downloads new upgrade
software when it is in Standby mode. In Standby mode, the TV is off, but its
Internet connection is active. This allows the TV to download upgrade software
automatically, when you are not using it. Because the TV is turned on internally,
the screen may glow slightly. This phenomenon may continue for more than 1
hour until the software download is complete.
To set Auto Update, follow these steps:

Select Auto Update in the Software Update menu.
●● Off: If you select Off, a popup message appears when a new software upgrade
is possible.
●● 45 min. / 06:00 am / 10:00 am / 02:00 pm / 06:00 pm: Downloads new
software for the channel at a selected time.
NN To use the Auto Update function, your TV must be connected to the
Internet.

Select the Use Mode suitable for your place. We strongly recommend you select
Home Use.
NN If your TV has been unintentionally set to Store Demo, you can change the

●● Home Use: Home Use is the default setting.
●● Store Demo: Store Demo is for retail environments only. If you select Store
Demo, some functions will not work, and the picture settings will be reset every
30 minutes.
