NOTES ON THE BATTERY
A WARNING
(1) Do not recharge, short-circuit, tamper with or deform the battery, or do not expose it to fire.
Otherwise, it may catch fire, generate intense heat or explode as it contains inflammable
materials such as lithium and organic solvent.
(2) Keep the battery out of the reach of children. If a child swallows it, consult a doctor immedi-
ately.
(3) When disposing of the battery or keeping it for future use, insulate it with a tape, etc. If the
battery is not insulated and brought into contact with metals or other batteries, it may catch
fire or explode.
/N\ CAUTION
Be sure to observe the following. Otherwise, battery leakage may result or the battery may ex-
plode, causing a malfunction of the clock or injuries to you.
(1) When installing the battery, check that the (+) and (-) sides are properly positioned.
(2) For battery replacement, request the batteries for exclusive use with the SEIKO clocks, and
be sure to have all the batteries replaced with new ones at a time.
(3) The battery is not rechargeable, and do not recharge it. Otherwise, battery leakage or dam-
age to the battery may result.
(4) Do not apply solder to the battery.
(5) Do not keep the clock in a place where it is exposed to direct sunlight, extremely high tem-
peratures, or high humidity.
(6) If the clock stops operating or if you will not use it for a long time, remove the battery from
the clock.
(7) The battery in your clock may run down in less than the specified period after the date of pur-
chase, as it is a monitor battery which is inserted at the factory to check the function and
performance of the clock.

GUARANTEE AND AFTER-SALES SERVICING
-This clock is guaranteed by the manufacturer.
The content of guarantee is described in the certificate
of guarantee attached to the clock.
"The guarantee and after-sales servicing are valid only in
Japan
-If the clock requires service under guarantee within the
guarantee period, take it to the retailer from whom your
clock was purchased, together with the certificate of
guarantee. The clock will be sent to SEIKO, where repair
and adjustment are made without charge.
-Even if the repair is not covered by the guarantee, or
even if the guarantee period expires, your clock will be
repaired at cost at your request.
-SEIKO makes it a policy to usually keep a stock of spare
parts for its clocks for 3 years. In principle, your clock
can be reconditioned within this period if used normally.
Replacement parts are those which are essential to
maintaining the functional integrity of the clock. The
number of years that a clock is considered repairable
may vary greatly depending on the conditions under
which it was used, and normal accuracy may not be
achieved in some cases. We recommend, therefore, that
you consult the retailer from whom the clock was pur-
chased when having them repair your clock.
-The clock parts or accessories may be replaced with
substitutes if the originals are not available.
-To obtain the service, take your clock to the retailer from
whom it was purchased, irrespective of whether the
guarantee is valid or not.
PLACE OF USE AND CARE OF YOUR CLOCK
IM Place of use
Do not use the clock under the following conditions.
‘In a temperature below -10°C.
In a temperature over +50°C.
For example, under direct sunlight, near a heater or fire.
- Humid places such as bathroom.
‘Places where the clock is exposed to strong magnetism
or vibration.
IM Care of your clock
Daily care
‘When wiping the frame of the clock, use a soft, moistur-
ized cloth.
‘If the clock is heavily stained, wipe it with a soft cloth
soaked with a diluted water solution of neutral detergent
and then wipe it with a dry cloth again.
‘Do not use benzine, thinner, polishing powder or brushes
to clean the clock.
‘Be careful not to expose the clock to insecticide or cos-
metic spray.
