This booklet talks about different parts of your washing machine.

This washing machine features water and energy saving options.
To save energy, the wash time can be shortened for a load of less dirty clothes by pressing the
Wash Choice button to select a shorter wash time option eg. Light & Fast.
By choosing Auto sense water level you avoid wasting water. The Auto sense wash water level
option ensures just the right amount of water is used for the clothes you have loaded into the
machine.
The washing machine is energy efficient and most water efficient when used with a full
load of clothes and with ECO RINSE selected. You should use ECO RINSE (where available)
instead of Deep Rinse to reduce the amount of water used for rinsing clothes.
Your machine is most water efficient when ECO RINSE is used as the rinse option.
Each time you switch on your washing machine, Eco Rinse is selected for you to help you save
money and to reduce the impact on the environment. You can select the traditional Deep Rinse
option for your first wash load if you wish. See page 13.
NOTE: Deep Rinse instead of Eco Rinse will be selected if the Program Selector knob is positioned
at Woollens or Drip Dry.
The difference between Deep rinse and Eco rinse is explained on the next page.

Eco rinse option
When Eco rinse is used, rinse water is sprayed into the wash bowl in pulses. After each pulse the
wash bowl will spin to remove detergent laden water from the clothes.
The machine will go through a series of six pulse spray and short spin cycles in this manner,
followed by the final long spin that removes the water from the clothes to complete the wash.
By selecting Eco rinse instead of Deep rinse, considerably less water will be used to remove
detergent and dirty water from your clothes. However, the wash cycle will take longer to
complete with Eco rinse. As a guide, Deep rinse uses approx. 60% more water than Eco rinse.
Eco rinse is not available with the Woollens or Drip Dry wash programs. When you choose these
two programs, Deep rinse is automatically selected for you.
Deep rinse option
When Deep rinse is used, rinse water enters the washing machine filling up to the wash water
level selected. The machine will then agitate and finally empty the water through the drain hose.
For the same wash cycle settings, Deep rinse uses up to 60% more water than Eco rinse but it
will take less time to complete a full wash.

About your machine…
1. Lid lock feature
Lid lock is a safety feature in your washing machine to ensure the lid is not opened during
a stage in the wash cycle when it would be hazardous for you to do so.
The lid will be locked when your washing machine is spinning, shown by the Lid Locked
indicator light being ON. Do not try to force the lid open when it is locked.
You will be able to open the lid easily when the Lid Locked indicator light is OFF.
See Lid Locked on page 11 for more information about the lid lock function.
2. Auto-Sense water level
Your washing machine has selectable auto sensing water level option as well as allowing
you to choose a manual water level if you wish.
We recommend you choose the auto-sense water level option to ensure just the right
amount of water is used for your wash load.
NOTE: At times during a wash it may appear your machine is either doing nothing or
intermittently it is only gently vibrating / jiggling / agitating.
This is because your machine could be:
a) In the Auto-Sense test mode and the machine is determining the correct amount of
water for your wash load. (See page 10)
b) Engaging or disengaging the drive clutch mechanism.
Wait a short time, your washing machine will complete the above tasks and continue with
the wash.
3. Out of balance interruption
The washing machine can stop during the spin stage of a wash because of an out of
balance condition.
All three WATER TEMP lights will be flashing rapidly to tell you an out of balance
interruption has happened.
Out of balance during spin is caused by an uneven distribution of clothes in the wash
bowl.
To rectify the out of balance condition, open the lid and redistribute the clothes evenly in
the space between the agitator and wall of the wash bowl.
Closing the lid will start the machine and continue the spin stage of the wash.
If you have frequent out of balance interruptions, it may be due to your washing machine
not standing firm and level on the floor.
This can be corrected by adjusting the washing machine legs as described in the
Installation Instructions supplied with your machine.
4. Button response and lights
Always press buttons gently.
Watch the lights on the control panel to see the effect pressing a button or turning a knob
has, and listen for ‘BEEPS’.
When you press a button you will get a short ‘BEEP’ to acknowledge the entry. If the
option is not available at the time, a long ‘ERROR BEEP’ will be heard.
NOTE: All functions of the washing machine will stop when the lid is open, except for pump out
before spin.
When you press the power button to switch off your machine, you will hear a continuous
decreasing ‘BEEP’ sound telling you the machine has been switched off.

Section B Washing instructions
Follow the instructions in this section for the best washing results.
Sort your washing into separate wash loads
Each load of washing should contain clothing which needs the same washing
conditions. For example, you should not wash delicate
clothes with very dirty work clothes.
Some fabrics are lint collectors and can pick up lint, dirt and colour
from other fabrics, which are lint producers. Some examples are
listed below.

Make sure that you wash lint collectors separately from lint producers.
Check your clothes to avoid damage
Empty all pockets. Close all hooks and zippers to avoid snagging clothes.
Wash bras, pantyhose and other delicates in a mesh laundry bag which
you can purchase from your supermarket.
Pre-treatment sprays and stain removers
IMPORTANT: Pre-treatment sprays and stain removers can damage plastic components
on your washing machine.
If you use pre-treatment sprays or stain removers, apply them to the
clothing well away from your washing machine.
Load the washing machine
When loading the clothes into your washing machine, there are four
things to remember:
1. Clothes must be loaded evenly around the agitator. For best results
load small items first, followed by large items.
2. Clothes must not be wrapped around the agitator.
3. The washing machine must not be overloaded. Clothes must be able
to move during the washing cycle.
4. The load should contain only three or four large items, for example
sheets. The rest of the load should be small items. A mixed load of
large and small items will wash cleaner than a load of all large items.

Add the detergent
1. Measure the correct amount of powder or liquid detergent by
following the recommendations on the package.
2. Mix detergent in one litre of hot or warm water.
3. Add the pre-mixed detergent to the wash load.
Don’t do these things:
* Use too little detergent because you will get a poor wash.
* Use too much detergent as this will give you too many suds and
may cause overloading of the motor during the spin stage of the
wash cycle. To avoid excessive suds, reduce the amount of detergent
you use. It is best to use detergent labelled low sudsing. Good quality, front
load detergent will perform well in this machine.
* Use soap based products in your washing machine.
Add fabric softener
1. Measure the correct amount of fabric softener by following the
recommendations on the package.
2. Mix softener with an equal amount of warm water but only mix
enough to fill to the line marked inside the cup. The softener cup
holds 75ml.
3. Pour the mixed softener into the cup in the top of the agitator.
Do not overfill the cup.
4. Do not spill fabric softener on the clothes as it may stain them.
IMPORTANT: If you are going to use fabric softener, you must select
the DEEP RINSE option, ie deselect the ECO RINSE option.
NOTE: You do not have to use fabric softener, your washing machine
will wash the clothes perfectly well without it.
Adding bleach
Bleaching of clothes can help to remove stains, heavy soiling and
to kill bacteria.
Oxygen type - This is generally a powder type bleach.
Mix the required quantity with water and pour down the hole in the
top panel during the fill when there is some water in the wash bowl.
Refer to the instructions on the bleach container.
Chlorine type - This type of bleach should not be mixed with detergent.
Mix the bleach with water as per the instructions on the container.
Turn PROGRAM SELECTOR to a wash program position.
Press the START/PAUSE button to commence water fill.
Pour the bleach solution down the hole in the top panel during fill
when there is some water in the wash bowl.
Allow the machine to agitate for a few minutes, then let it stand for
the required time by pressing the START/PAUSE button.
Turn PROGRAM SELECTOR to Drain & Spin position and press the
START/PAUSE button to empty the wash bowl.
You can now wash the clothes load using detergent and your selected
wash program.
NOTE: Bleach should not be used on silk, wool, rayon or drip dry
clothes.

Start your washing machine as follows
1. Turn on the taps
2. Close the lid
3. Press the POWER button
The machine will ‘beep’ twice and show a pattern of lights. Wait for this
to happen before attempting to operate the machine.
Your washing machine is now in pause mode and ready to wash your clothes.
If the settings shown on the control panel are what you want to use and
the PROGRAM SELECTOR is set to the correct wash program for your clothes
load, press the START/PAUSE button to start your wash.
To select a different program or change other settings, read the following
instructions in this section and in Section C.
Choose the wash program
Turn the PROGRAM SELECTOR knob to choose the wash program you want.
The table “YOUR PROGRAM GUIDE” shown on page 9 will help you in selecting
the right program.
The Program Selector knob is not a timer.
Once you select a wash program, the Program Selector knob will stay
at that position for the whole wash cycle.
You can turn the Program Selector Knob to a new program position at
any time.
If you do move the Program Selector Knob the effect will be different depending
on the status of the machine at the time you do this, as follows:
1. When the machine is in pause mode, moving the Knob to a new position will
result in the machine resetting to the start of the new program.
(For pause mode, see “Machine in pause mode” page 11)
2. When the machine is running, moving the Knob to a new position will result
in the machine continuing the wash but the behaviour of the remainder of the
wash changing to match the new program setting.
(For machine running, see “Wash cycle in progress” page 11)
NOTE:
When you choose the WOOLLENS or DRIP DRY program, the DEEP RINSE option is
automatically selected for you. You will not be able to select and use Eco Rinse with these
two programs.
When you select the DRAIN & SPIN program, there will be a delay of approximately
5 minutes before the washing machine starts to spin. This delay is a pump out (DRAIN)
period to ensure the bowl is empty of water, which is necessary before spin commences.
Even though you may have only put wet clothes into an empty bowl, the delay before spin
will still occur to be safe and to protect your washing machine.

Choose the wash water temperature
For each wash program your washing machine automatically selects a
suitable fill water temperature.
If you want to use a different wash water temperature, press the
WATER TEMP button repeatedly. The water temp lights will tell you
the temperature for each press of the button.
You have three temperatures to choose from ie Hot, Warm and Cold.
The temperature of warm water will depend on the temperature and
pressure of your hot and cold water supplies. The recommended
temperature for warm is 35°C. You can adjust the flow rate of the water
supplies to adjust the Warm temperature.
All rinse water temperatures are cold except for the woollens program.
If you have selected the Woollens program, you will not be able to select
a Hot wash water temperature.
NOTE: If you have a cold water connection only and the hot inlet valve
is capped off (refer installation instructions) you must select Cold washes
only. Otherwise the machine will sense the unavailability of
hot water for Hot and Warm washes and shutdown.
IMPORTANT: Components in the washing machine are designed to be
used with water no hotter than 70°C. If your water supply is too hot,
you should have a temperature limiting valve fitted by a qualified plumber.

Choose the wash choice
The WASH CHOICE button lets you have an influence on the wash time
of the selected program. You can choose from three settings:
• Extra Dirty for very dirty clothes eg overalls or muddy sports clothes
• Regular
for your normal everyday wash of cottons, sheets etc.
• Light & Fast for lightly soiled clothes and delicate items.
Press the WASH CHOICE button if you want to increase or decrease the
wash time.
For the same wash program, Extra Dirty will have a longer wash time than
Regular, and Regular a longer wash time than Light & Fast.
Choose the water level
Choose the water level by turning the WATER LEVEL knob.
You can select:
Auto-Sense water level
With this option the machine will determine for you what level of
water is needed for the wash load you have put into the wash bowl
and automatically fill with water to that level.

Auto-Sense water level
Using the Auto-Sense water level option ensures just the right amount of water is used for the wash load.
(NOTE: You can select a water level manually if you wish. See “Manual water level” below.)
To select Auto-Sense water fill, turn the WATER LEVEL knob to the Auto-Sense position.
When you start your wash, the machine will conduct a series of water fill and short agitations
to determine the amount of water needed.
When this is completed, the machine will automatically proceed to washing your clothes in agitation mode.
If you add more clothes to the wash bowl after an Auto-Sense water level wash program has started,
the machine will auto sense the new load and add extra water if needed.
You can reselect from Auto-Sense to Manual water level if you are not happy with the Auto level at any time
and want to add more water.
Manual water level
To select Manual water level fill, turn the WATER LEVEL knob to a position at or between High and Low
on the dial. (For model 950, at or between X-High and X- Low).
Do not overfill the washing machine.
Use only the amount of water you need for the wash load when making a manual water level selection.
Alternatively, select Auto-Sense water level described above to ensure correct amount of water is used.
If you want to add more water after a manually selected water level wash cycle has started, turn the
WATER LEVEL knob to the new higher level that you want.
The machine will add water up to the new level selected and continue the wash program.
You can reselect from Manual to Auto-Sense water level if you are unsure the manual level chosen is
sufficient. Auto-Sense will determine if more water is needed and add it.

To start the wash cycle / program
Press the START/PAUSE button.
START/PAUSE is used to Start, Stop and Continue the wash.
If you have started your wash and you wish to stop it for some reason,
press the START/PAUSE button to enter the pause mode.

When you press START/PAUSE during a spin stage of the wash cycle, you will
not be able to open the lid until the Lid Locked indicator light is ‘OFF’.
Please wait for the light to switch off BEFORE trying to open the lid.
See “Lid Locked” at the bottom of this page.
The lid locked light switches ‘OFF’ when the machine has stopped spinning
and the lid lock has released. If then you open the lid and close it, your
machine will continue to complete the spin stage.

Lid locked – indicator light
This light advises you the lid is locked or unlocked.
Indicator light ‘ON’ the lid is LOCKED in the closed position. The locking
of the lid is a safety feature to ensure you do not access the wash bowl when
it is spinning.

Indicator light ‘OFF’ the lid is UNLOCKED. The lid can be opened to add
detergent etc. and for the loading and unloading of clothes.
REMEMBER: The lid must be closed and the lid locked indicator light ’ON’ for spin to occur.
NOTE: The lid will be unlocked during the water fill, agitate and drain stages of the wash cycle.
Should you need to access the wash bowl during spin, press START/PAUSE. You will have to wait
a short time for the spin bowl to stop spinning before the Lid Locked indicator light switches ‘OFF’.
If then you open and close the lid, and the machine is still in the spin stage of the wash cycle, the lid will
lock and the machine will continue to complete the spin stage.
IMPORTANT:
For your safety,
DO NOT insert anything into the lid lock slot in the top panel of the washing machine.
DO NOT interfere with the Lid lock mechanism to try and disable it or otherwise change the way it works.
DO NOT try to force open the lid when it is locked.

Additional features on your washing machine are described in this section.

The digital display will show the time in hours and minutes to complete
the wash program.
NOTE: This time does not include the time that the washing machine will take
to fill with water because of the different water pressures in homes.
The display will also show codes for your information and guidance. (See below)

panel lights and the ‘beeping’ function.

To switch off the end of cycle Beep
The washing machine is factory set to ‘beep’ when your wash is finished. It will also 'beep' when the machine
has paused at completion of the Drip Dry wash program, to allert you to remove the drip dry clothes from
the wash bowl.
To change the ‘beeping’ selection, proceed as follows:
1. Press and hold the WASH CHOICE button for 3 seconds to enter
programming mode.

2. Press the WATER TEMP button to change the selection, then press
the START/PAUSE button to store the new selection.
NOTE: If you do not press a button within 5 seconds the washing machine will
return to the previous setting. To reprogram, simply repeat the above process.
When No ‘beep’ at end of cycle is selected, the washing machine will
still ‘beep’ when you press buttons and for unavailable selections.
Advancing the wash progress
The washing machine has WASH, RINSE and SPIN Progress
Indicator lights to let you know where the machine currently is within
the wash cycle.
You can advance the wash by holding the START/PAUSE button depressed
until the progress lights have advanced to your desired part of the wash
cycle.
Rinse Option
ECO and DEEP are the rinse options available to you on this model washing machine. The difference between
Eco and Deep rinse is explained on page 4.
Selecting the ECO RINSE option allows you to minimise the amount of water used to rinse the sudsy
wash water from the clothes.
DEEP RINSE uses up to 60% more water than ECO RINSE but your wash will be completed in less time.
To select ECO RINSE, press the ECO RINSE button until the ECO RINSE
light is ‘ON’.
To de-select ECO RINSE and select DEEP RINSE, press the ECO RINSE
button until the ECO RINSE light is ‘OFF’.

REMEMBER: If the Eco Rinse light is off, Deep Rinse is the currently
selected option.
NOTE: When you select the WOOLLENS or DRIP DRY program,
DEEP RINSE is automatically selected for you. Eco Rinse is not available
with the Woollens and Drip Dry programs.
IMPORTANT: If you are going to use FABRIC SOFTENER, you MUST use
the DEEP RINSE cycle. Fabric softener may cause staining on the clothes when
used with the Eco Rinse cycle.
If your cold water supply pressure is very low, the Eco Rinse might not
be fully effective in rinsing the suds from your clothes. If this is the case
then use the Deep Rinse cycle.

Your washing machine will give you long and trouble-free service, if you follow the instructions in this section.
These instructions show you how to care for your washing machine.
What to do after you have
finished your washing
1. Press the power button to switch off the machine.
2. Switch off the electricity at the power point.
3. Turn off the water taps.
4. Leave lid open for a while to allow moisture inside the washing
4. machine to evaporate.
Cleaning the lint filter
Lint is a collection of threads and fluff which comes off your clothes during washing. Your washing machine
collects this lint in the lint filter. It is important to clean out this lint filter preferably after each wash.
How to clean the lint filter

Remove the softener dispenser cup and filter column from the centre of the agitator.
Unclip the filter bag from the column.
Turn the bag inside out and remove the lint.
Wash the filter bag and dispenser cup in hot water.
Reassemble the filter to the column and place it back in the centre of the agitator.

Cleaning your washing machine
To clean the inside and outside of your washing machine you should:
1. Wipe the surface with a mild dishwashing detergent and warm water.
2. Wipe dry with a soft cloth.
IMPORTANT: Never use solvents, aerosol cleaners, spray pack cleaners,
glass cleaners, metal polishes, caustic materials, scourers or general household
cleaners on or near the top panel and lid, control panel or other parts of your
washing machine.
Removing your washing machine lid
You can remove the lid of your washing machine for easy cleaning.
How to remove the lid
1. Hold the lid in a vertical position.
2. Lift the right hand end and then move the lid to the right.
The hinge will come away from the top panel.
How to replace the lid
1. Hold the lid in a vertical position.
2. Put the left hand hinge into the hinge hole of the top panel.
3. Put the right hand hinge into the hinge slot and close the lid.

Cleaning stains in the wash bowl
Stains in the wash bowl can be caused by:
M metal objects such as bobby pins, dressmaking pins
and nails
M salt
IMPORTANT: Check all pockets before loading clothes into your washing machine.
Don’t leave wet clothing (especially swimwear) in the bowl for too long before you
wash it.
How to clean the stainless steel wash bowl
Wipe with a cleaning product which is marked suitable for stainless steel.
IMPORTANT: Never use bleach cleaners or steel wool.
Avoiding build up of undissolved detergents
If you only wash with cold water, undissolved detergent and body oils will build up in the washing machine.
This build-up can cause spotting on your clothes.
To avoid this build-up:
M do not use too much fabric softener with cold water
M select a hot water wash at least once a month
M always dissolve the detergent in one litre of warm water.
What to do if there is spotting on your clothes
1. Put 250 grams of Epsom Salts into the wash bowl.
2. Fill the washing machine with HOT water and agitate for one minute.
3. Leave the water in the washing machine for 3 hours.
4. Agitate for 5 minutes.
5. Pump the water out.
6. Rinse the washing machine twice with cold water.
For your safety:
M This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by
a person responsible for their safety.
M Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
M If this appliance is supplied from an extension cord or portable electrical outlet
device, the extension cord or portable electrical outlet device must be positioned so
that it is not subject to splashing or entry of moisture.
IMPORTANT: If the electrical cord of this appliance is damaged, it
must be replaced by the Manufacturer, Authorised
Service Agent or similarly qualified person in order
to avoid a hazard.
M If you have a mains pressure hot water service and it has not been used for two or
three weeks:
Before using the washing machine it is recommended that a hot water tap close to
the washing machine be turned on and the water allowed to flow for a couple of
minutes. This will allow any gas pressure that has built up over the period of non
use to be discharged.

This section gives you some help in dealing with washing problems. Chemicals referred to on
pages 16 and 17 are available from your local supermarket, hardware store or the chemist.
Yellowing or greying clothes

Hints for removing stains
M Treat all stains as soon as possible. The longer you leave a stain the harder it
will be to remove.
M Try soakers and stain removers first.
IMPORTANT: Pre-treatment sprays and stain removers can damage plastic
components on your washing machine.
If you use pre-treatment sprays or stain removers, apply them to the clothes items
in a well ventilated area away from your washing machine.
M Avoid the use of hot water on stains as hot water will set stains.
M Use light strokes and don’t rub the stain remover into the fabric.
M If you use a chlorine bleach, follow the instructions on the bottle and dilute it
before putting it on clothing.
M Test coloured fabrics on an inside seam for colour fastness before using any
stain removers or bleaches.
M Test synthetic fabrics on an inside seam before using any chemicals or
bleaches.
IMPORTANT: Do not use dry cleaning fluids near your washing machine. These
fluids will damage your washing machine and may cause an explosion.

A guide to stain removal
Treat stains as soon as possible. The longer they are left the harder they
are to remove. The following information may assist you in stain removal.
White cotton and Linens
Washable Coloured Fabrics
BALL POINT PEN INK
Sponge with methylated spirit.
Bleach if necessary.
Same as for whites but omit bleach.
BLOOD, MEAT JUICE, EGG
(dry stain)
Cover area with meat tenderiser
(MSG). Apply warm water to make
a paste. Wait 15–30 minutes. Sponge
with cool water or with diluted bleach.
Same as for whites but select water
temperature suitable to fabric.
Use oxygen bleach.
BLOOD, MEAT JUICE, EGG
(fresh stain)
Rinse in cold water. If stain remains
sprinkle with meat tenderiser (MSG).
Let stand 15 to 20 minutes. If stain
still remains, then sponge with
diluted bleach. Launder in hot water.
Same as for whites but select water
temperature suitable to fabric.
Use oxygen bleach.
CANDLE WAX
Scrape off excess, place stain between
clean white blotter or several layers
of facial tissue. Sponge with dry
cleaning fluid. If spot remains, bleach.
Same as for whites — use oxygen
type bleach.
CHEWING GUM
Rub with ice to harden. Scrape off
excess with blunt knife. Sponge
with dry cleaning fluid.
Same as for whites.
CHOCOLATE
Soak in warm water with pre-soak
product, and wash in lukewarm
water. Use solvent to remove any
grease spots.
Soak in warm water with pre-soak
or detergent solution. Bleach remaining
stain.
COFFEE / TEA
(milk or cream)
Rinse or soak in cold water. Work
detergent into stain. Thoroughly
rinse and dry. If a stain remains,
sponge with dry cleaning fluid. If
stain remains, bleach.
Same method — use oxygen type bleach.
COFFEE / TEA (black)
FRUIT JUICE, WINE
Pour boiling water through stain.
Bleach if necessary.
Soak or rinse in cold water or sponge
with warm water and detergent. Use
oxygen type bleach.
FAT, GREASE, OIL
Sponge with safe home dry
cleaning fluid (White Spirits).
Same as for whites.
FRUIT
Sponge with warm water and wash.
Bleach remaining stain with oxygen
bleach.
Pour boiling water through stain. Bleach

launder. If ice cream contains fruit
or chocolate treat stains as such.

IODINE
Wash in hot suds
Wash in warm suds.
IRON RUST
Apply oxalic acid and place in sun.
Apply lemon juice and place in sun.
LIPSTICK
Rub with lard and wash in hot suds.
Bleach if necessary.
Rub with lard and wash in warm suds.
MILDEW
Wash in hot suds. Moisten with lemon
juice and let dry in sun. If stain persists,
bleach. Old stains are hard to remove.
Same as for whites but select water
temperature suitable to fabric.
MUSTARD
Wash in hot suds and bleach.
Same as for whites but use water
temperature to suit fabric.
NAIL POLISH
Sponge with acetone, dry cleaning fluid
or nail polish remover.
Bleach to remove dye.
Sponge with dry cleaning remover.
PAINT
(oil based)
Scrape off fresh paint. Soften dry paint
with lard or oil, then sponge with
turpentine (turps).
Same as for whites.
RED WINE
Rub salt into the stain. Pour boiling
water through stain. Bleach if necessary.
Same as for whites.
SCORCH
Moisten and place in sunlight.
Bleach if necessary.
Usually a permanent stain. Brush wools
lightly with sandpaper.

This document sets out the terms and conditions of product
warranties for Electrolux branded appliances. It is an
important document. Please keep it with your proof of
purchase documents in a safe place for future reference
should you require service for your Electrolux appliance.
General Terms and Conditions
1. In this warranty
(a) 'Electrolux' means Electrolux Home Products Pty Ltd
ABN 51 004 762 341 in respect of Appliances purchased
in Australia and Electrolux (NZ) Limited in respect of
Appliances purchased in New Zealand;
(b) 'Appliance' means any Electrolux product purchased by
you accompanied by this document;
(c) 'Warranty Period' means
(i) where you use the Appliance for personal, domestic
or household purposes in Australia or in New Zealand
the period of 24 months, plus a further 36 months (in
respect of replacement of parts only) for gearbox and
main drive electric motor;
(ii) where you use the Appliance for commercial
purposes, In Australia the period of 0 months, and
New Zealand the period of 3 months (if the period
stated is 0 months you are not covered by this
product warranty)
following the date of original purchase of the Appliance;
(d) 'you' means the purchaser of the Appliance not having
purchased the appliance for re-sale, and 'your' has a
corresponding meaning.
2. This warranty only applies to Appliances purchased and used
in Australia or New Zealand and is in addition to (and does
not exclude, restrict, or modify in any way) any nonexcludable statutory warranties in Australia or New Zealand.
3. Electrolux warrants that, when dispatched from an Electrolux
warehouse, the Appliance is free from defects in materials
and workmanship for the Warranty Period.
4. During the Warranty Period Electrolux or its Authorised
Service Centre will, at no extra charge and subject to these
terms and conditions, repair or replace any parts which it
considers to be defective. You agree that any replaced
Appliances or parts become the property of Electrolux. This
warranty does not apply to light globes, batteries, filters or
similar perishable parts.
5. Parts and Appliances not supplied by Electrolux are not
covered by this warranty.
6. Where you are within an Electrolux service area, this
warranty covers the cost of transport of the Appliance to and
from Authorised Service Centres of Electrolux and travelling
costs for representatives of the Authorised Service Centre to
and from your home or business. If you are outside an
Electrolux service area, you will bear these costs. For
information about whether you are within an Electrolux
service area, please phone 13 13 49 in Australia, or 0800 10
66 10 in New Zealand.
7. Proof of purchase is required before you can make a claim
under this warranty.
8. You may not make a claim under this warranty unless the defect
claimed is due to faulty or defective parts or workmanship.
Electrolux is not liable in the following situations (which are not
exhaustive):
(a) The Appliance is damaged by:
(i) accident
(ii) misuse or abuse, including failure to properly maintain or
service
(iii) normal wear and tear
(iv) power surges, electrical storm damage or incorrect power
supply
(v) incomplete or improper installation
(vi) incorrect, improper or inappropriate operation
(vii) insect or vermin infestation.
(b) The Appliance is modified without authority from Electrolux in
writing.
(c) The Appliance's serial number or warranty seal has been
removed or defaced.
(d) The Appliance was serviced or repaired by anyone other than
Electrolux or its Authorised Service Centres.
9. This warranty, the contract to which it relates and the relationship
between you and Electrolux are governed by the law applicable in
the State where the Appliance is purchased if the Appliance is
purchased in Australia or the law applicable in New Zealand if the
Appliance is purchased there. Where the Appliance is purchased in
New Zealand for business purposes the Consumer Guarantee Act
does not apply.
Limitation of Liability
10. To the extent permitted by law:
(a) Electrolux excludes all warranties other than as contained in
this document;
(b) Electrolux shall not be liable for any loss or damage whether
direct or indirect or consequential arising from your purchase,
use or non-use of the Appliance.
11. Provisions of the Trade Practices Act and State consumer
legislation in Australia, and the Consumer Guarantees Act, the
Sale of Goods Act and the Fair Trading Act in New Zealand, imply
warranties or conditions, or impose obligations, upon Electrolux
which cannot be excluded, restricted or modified. To the extent
permitted by law, the liability of Electrolux (if any) arising out of or
in relation to the Appliance or any services supplied by Electrolux
shall be limited (where it is fair and reasonable to do so),:
(a) in the case of Appliances, at its option, to the replacement or
repair of the Appliances or the supply of equivalent products or
the payment of the cost of replacing the Appliances or having
the Appliances repaired or of acquiring equivalent Appliances.
Upon being replaced, parts and Appliances become the
property of Electrolux; or
(b) in the case of services, at its option, to the supply of the
services again or the payment of the cost of having the
services re-supplied;
and in the case of Appliances or services supplied in New Zealand,
loss or damage whether direct or indirect or consequential that is
reasonably foreseeable.
Privacy
You acknowledge that in the event that you make a warranty claim it
will be necessary for Electrolux and its Authorised Service Centres to
exchange information in relation to you to enable Electrolux to meet its
obligations under this warranty.
