Choosing a location
•This appliance must not be installed on any combustible
material. A minimum clearance from any combustible
material is 450mm.
•The vertical clearance above the cooking surface to
any combustible materials must be at least 600mm.
•This appliance must be installed in accordance with
Australian Standards AS4557 and AS5601 and in
accordance with the local authority.
•When using LPG in an enclosure ventilation must be
provided. Gas is highly explosive and can cause serious
injury and damage to property if allowed to accumulate
and then be ignited.
•This barbecue is intended to be built into a benchtop
with a minimum depth of 600mm.
•Avoid windy positions as this will affect cooking
performance and burner efficiency. If this situation
cannot be avoided some shielding may be necessary.
•If the chosen location is exposed to rain consideration
will need to be given for water drainage. Some of the
rain can drain through the benchtop hole and through
the product.
The mounting enclosure
•The barbecue requires a non-combustible barrier under
the barbecue to prevent excessive temperatures being
accessed. The barrier panel is to be placed 30mm
under the base of the unit. There are spacers added to
the bottom of the unit to prevent barrier panel being too
close to barbecue base. Refer to diagram next page.
•The mounting enclosure must be constructed from
non-combustible materials. Suitable materials for
construction include masonry, granite, marble,
Hardiplank®, Villaboard®, over a metal frame or tiles.
•This appliance requires venting in the enclosure, see
diagrams for details.
•This appliance can be mounted either in an island type
bench or a bench with a splashback. Please read the
specific requirements for each mounting situation.
•For ULPG use, cabinetry below the barbecue must
have low level ventilation to prevent the possibility of
ULPG accumulating.
Island style installation
•If the appliance is installed in an island mount, it can be
centrally positioned. Special attention should be given
to the overall size of the island top to consider the hood
open and overhang.
•The cut-out size required for models EQBH60AS &
EQBL60AS is 735mm x 502mm.
•The cut-out size required for model EQBL30AS is
440mm x 502mm (as shown on page 15).

Gas requirements
Fitting the slimline lid or roasting hood
Natural Gas requirements
• The enclosure must be constructed so that access
can be gained to the Natural Gas regulator at all times.
• For Natural Gas the gas supply is required to be
connected to 1.2m flexible hose supplied and therefore
must be located within this distance.
• The flexible hose has a quick connect gas coupling.
The corresponding mating fitting will be required at
the gas supply end.
• For pipe sizing requirements for supply pipe refer
to AS5601.
Fitting of slimline lid
• Unpack the slimline lid.
• Remove side screws from barbecue trim surround
using a philips head screw driver.
•Cooking plates should be removed in order to attach
hinge bracket.
• Fit brackets to trim surround with the same screws.
• Fit lid to brackets.
Universal LPG Requirements
warning
• If an LPG bottle is to be stored in the enclosure under
the barbecue unit, it must be isolated from the barbecue
unit with a non-combustible panel.
The enclosure must comply with the requirements
of AS5601.
• AS5601 ventilation requirements for cylinder storage are:
Where of sheet metal or similar impervious construction
there shall be ventilation openings at the top and bottom
of the enclosure or recess, each opening providing a
free area of at least 200cm2 for every cylinder enclosed.
•For ULPG installations having enclosed cabinetry below
the separation panel that does not contain a gas bottle,
low level venting must be installed. This is to allow the
gas which is heavier than air escape from the enclosure
in the situation where there may be a leak. A minimum
opening of 200cm2 is required.
Setting up the barbecue
Setting up the barbecue in mounting enclosure
•A match holder with attached chain has been included
with the instruction manual. This is provided for manual
ignition in the event the automatic ignition does not work.
The free end of chain is required to be permanently fixed
to the installation in a location that enables the match
holder to reach each burner (refer to page 18 for manual
lighting instructions).
•After the enclosure has been constructed as described
on page 13, position the assembled barbecue into the
cut-out hole.
•Check that the barbecue is level and is firmly supported.
• Connect to gas supply (Universal LPG or Natural Gas)
and leak test.
• For fitment of the slimline lid or roasting hood (see right).
INTBBQ600/300_Jun11.indd 17
Fitting of roasting hood

Operating instructions
For EQBH60AS & EQBL60AS the grills and hot plate can
be positioned as desired.
For roasting (EQBH60AS only) it is recommended to place
the hotplate in the middle and a grill plate each side.
Before lighting the barbecue:
•Check that all hoses and gas fittings are tight.
•Open the roasting hood or slimline lid.
NOTE:
The slimline lid is designed as a cover for weather protection.
The lid is not designed to be used as a cooking hood.
• Check all control knobs are in the ‘OFF’ position.
• Ensure that the cooking surfaces are clean.
• Turn the gas isolation valve ‘ON’.
warning
Ensure flame tamers are positioned under grill panels.
Lighting instructions
•Do not attempt to light burners with cooking
surfaces covered.
• Read instructions before lighting.
•To light a burner, depress the knob and rotate to
‘HIGH HEAT’. A spark is generated to light the flame
thrower alongside the burner. The flame thrower makes
an audible noise and only operates when the knob is
depressed to light burner. Release the knob and check
if the burner is alight, note that the audible noise from
the flame thrower will stop when the knob is released.
•If the burner did not light, turn the knob to the ‘OFF’ position.
Allow gas to disperse, then repeat lighting procedure.
Alternative arrangement when not roasting
Manual lighting
•If, in the event of the automatic ignition system not
working, the barbecue can be lit manually.
•To light manually, fit a 40mm match to match holder
provided. Pass lit match through viewing slots below the
front of cooking plates down towards the burner, then
rotate the knob to HIGH HEAT to ignite. If ignition fails,
turn the control valve off and allow several minutes for
the gas to disperse before attempting to light again.
•Once alight, repeat for other burners as required.
pass match holder

burning of the food being prepared. This may also result
in excessive flaring of the fat being emitted from the food.
•Roasting with the hood closed only requires the 2
outermost burners on low setting for satisfactory cooking.
Refer below for further information on roasting.
To ensure that the user remembers to turn off the gas
before closing the lid, a pivoting safety leg has been fitted
(both small and large lids).
pivoting safety leg
To turn the burner off
•When cooking is complete, rotate the knob fully clockwise
so the pointer on the knob is positioned at the ‘OFF’ position.
•Turn gas bottle isolation valve off after turning all knobs
to ‘OFF’ position when appliance not in use.
Using the roasting hood
Cooking with the hood closed only requires 2 burners to be
on low setting. The setting is to be adjusted depending on
conditions and using the temperature indicator as a guide.
• It is recommended when roasting to place the solid
hot plate in the centre with one grill on each side of
the plate. Use the two outer burners under the grills.
• To achieve even cooking of the food, place the food
onto a wire rack above the hot plate to allow air to
circulate under the food.
• Food can also be placed on the warming racks for
cooking with hood closed
When closing the lid the safety leg will pivot forward and
rest against the trim surface to prevent the lid closing.
After ensuring the gas has been turned off, the lid can be
fully closed by rotating the leg backwards.
warning
• Do not use more than 2 burners when the hood is
closed and do not allow the temperature to exceed
the ‘Ready’ zone of the temperature indicator. These
conditions create excessive heat and may cause
damage to the barbecue and roasting hood.
• When cooking with the hood closed the hot flue
gases flow out the rear of the appliance between
the splashguard and the hood. Ensure the barbecue
is suitably located to avoid damage or injury.

warning
THE SLIMLINE LID MUST NOT BE CLOSED WHEN THE
BURNERS ARE OPERATING.
Closing the lid during burner operation can cause
discolouration and damage to the lid and barbecue unit.

20 cleaning and care electrolux integrated bbq 600/300mm
Cleaning and care
This Electrolux barbecue has been constructed from select
grade stainless steel which, if not cared for, may discolour
over time. To keep your barbecue looking its best we
recommend that the cooking surfaces are cleaned after
every use.
warning
Please ensure that your barbecue is switched off and
has cooled down before following the instructions below.
Cast iron plates and plate surround cleaning
The cooking plates and grills have a porcelain enamelled
coating and must be at ambient temperature before cleaning.
NOTE:
Many food acids, juices, marinades and sauces contain
highly acidic elements that will slowly attack the surface
of the cast iron if not removed immediately after cooking.
After use remove all solid material from the cooking surface
using a brass bristled barbecue brush or plastic bristled
scourer. Wipe off the remaining grease with paper towelling.
Gently wash the surfaces with a cloth or sponge and a mild
detergent and hot water. Dry components immediately and
coat the cooking surface with a light layer of cooking oil.
This protects the surface when not in use. Do not clean
the cooking surface in a dishwasher
caution
Take extra care (particularly when cleaning on and around
the control knobs) to ensure that water and soapy residue
do not enter the control panel.
Care should also be taken not to disturb the spark electrode.
Cleaning the oil reservoirs
The electrolux integrated bbq 600/300mm has a unique oil
management system which uses overlapping channels to
drain all oil to the front into easily removed reservoirs and
should be cleaned after each use.
• To remove reservoirs, pull upwards from the front of the
barbecue and dispose of the contents of the catchment
responsibly. Rinse oil reservoirs in warm soapy water.
The reservoirs can be placed in the dishwasher if desired.
tips and information
The stainless steel panels may distort while in use but will
return to normal when cold.
Cleaning stainless steel surfaces
caution
Do not use abrasive or caustic cleaners, scourers or
metal scrapers on stainless steel surfaces as they may
permanently scratch and damage your barbecue.
• Wash all stainless steel components, including the
slimline lid, the roasting hood, tubular frame and control
knobs with a soft dishcloth using hot soapy water
• The barbecue interior can be wiped down with a soft
cloth in hot soapy water. The rear panel of the interior
is removable for easy cleaning
• Ensure that all surfaces are dried with a clean dry cloth
tips and information
Sometimes stainless steel surfaces are affected by a brown
discolouration called tea staining. This usually occurs in
areas which use high heat and can be removed using
specialised stainless steel cleaners. For best results, we
recommend that specialised cleaners be used regularly on
all stainless steel components. You will find these cleaners
at Electrolux spare parts outlets.

The Thoughtful Design Innovator.
Do you remember the last time you opened a gift that made you say
“Oh! How did you know? That’s exactly what I wanted!” That’s the kind
of feeling that the designers at Electrolux seek to evoke in everyone who
chooses or uses one of our products. We devote time, knowledge, and
a great deal of thought to anticipating and creating the kind of appliances
that our customers really need and want.
This kind of thoughtful care means innovating with insight. Not design for
design’s sake, but design for the user’s sake. For us, thoughtful design means
making appliances easier to use and tasks more enjoyable to perform, freeing
our customers to experience that ultimate 21st century luxury, ease of mind.
Our aim is to make this ease of mind more available to more people in more
parts of their everyday lives, all over the world. So when we say we’re thinking
of you, you know we mean just that.
The “Thinking of you” promise from Electrolux goes beyond meeting the needs
of today’s consumers. It also means we’re committed to making appliances
safe for the environment—now and for future generations.
Electrolux. Thinking of you.
