This unit is designed to be used in Czech, Slovakia, and central Europe. To use this unit
in your country, first change the unit’s region setting to match your country. Change the
unit’s display language as needed. Refer to “Changing the unit’s region setting” in the
operating instructions.

L To clean the product, use a dry soft cloth. The outer surface of the product can
be scratched by wiping or rubbing with a hard cloth.

The backlight will turn off completely after 1 minute
of inactivity if the handset is not on the base unit or
charger.

Operating tips
Using the joystick
Push the joystick up, down, left, or right to navigate
through menus and to select.
Note:
L When selecting menu or the desired item, these
operating instructions use the following indication.
Example: {^}/{V}: “Off”
Push the joystick up or down to select the words in
quotations.
Volume up
Adjusting the receiver or speaker
volume
Push the joystick up or down while on a call.
Volume down
Soft keys
The handset features 2 soft keys and a joystick. By
pressing a soft key, or by pressing the centre of the
joystick, you can select the feature shown directly
above it on the display.
Menu icons
When in standby mode, pressing down on the centre of the joystick reveals the
handset’s main menu. From here you can access various features and settings.

Why is w flashing?
L The handset is too far from the base unit. Move
closer.
L The base unit AC adaptor is not connected.
Check the connections.
L You are using the handset or base unit in an area
with high electrical interference. Place the
handset and base unit away from interference
sources, such as antennas and mobile phones.
L The handset is not registered to the base unit.
Register it (page 8).
Why can I not make calls?
L The dialling mode setting is incorrect. Set to
“Tone” or “Pulse” as needed.
Why is the handset display
blank?
L The handset is in screen saver mode. Press
{ih} to activate the handset display again.
What should I do when the
handset does not turn on?
L Make sure that the batteries are installed
correctly.
L Fully charge the batteries.
L Clean the charge contacts and charge again.
How long is the battery
operating time?
L When you are using fully-charged Ni-MH batteries
(supplied batteries);
In continuous use: 12 hours max.
In continuous standby mode: 150 hours max.
L It is normal for batteries not to reach full capacity
at the initial charge. Maximum battery
performance is reached after a few complete
cycles of charge/discharge (use).
L Actual battery performance depends on a
combination of how often the handset is in use
and how often it is not in use (standby).

Can I keep the handset on
the base unit or charger
when I am not using it?
L Even after the handset is fully charged, the
handset can be left on the base unit or charger
without any ill effect on the batteries.
When should I replace the
batteries?
L If the batteries are fully charged until & is
displayed, but ) is displayed after a few calls,
replace the batteries with new ones.
What is a PIN?
L The PIN is a 4-digit number that must be entered
in order to change certain base unit settings. The
default PIN is “0000”.
What do I need to do to
display caller information?
L You need to subscribe to Caller ID service.
Consult your service provider/telephone company
for details.
L The message “You must first subscribe
to Caller ID.” will be displayed until you
receive caller information after subscribing to
Caller ID service.
What should I do when:
– I hear static or sound cuts
in and out?
– there is interference from
other electrical units?
L Place the handset and the base unit away from
other electrical appliances.
L Move closer to the base unit.
L Your unit is connected to a telephone line with
DSL service. We recommend connecting a filter
(contact your DSL service provider) to the
telephone line between the base unit and the
telephone line jack.
What should I do when the
operating time seems to be
short even after I fully
charged the batteries?
L Wipe the battery ends (S, T) and the unit
contacts with a dry cloth.
What do I need to do to
erase W (Missed call) from
the display?
L There are unviewed missed calls remaining. View
them using the following method.

Registering a handset to a base unit
The supplied handset and base unit are pre-registered. When you purchase an
additional handset, refer to the additional handset’s installation manual for
registration. If for some reason the handset is not registered to the base unit, register
the handset.

Press the center joystick button, choose 'Registration,' then 'Register H.set,' and select a base unit number. Press and hold the 'x' button on the base unit until the registration tone sounds. Enter the base unit PIN (default: 0000) when prompted.
