6. TIPPS UND HINWEISE
6.1 Normale Betriebsgeräusche
•
Folgende Geräusche sind während des
normalen Gerätebetriebs normal:
•
Ein leichtes Gurgeln und Blubbern,
wenn das Kältemittel durch die
Leitungen gepumpt wird.
•
Ein Surren und ein pulsierendes
Geräusch vom Kompressor, wenn
das Kältemittel durch die Leitungen
gepumpt wird.
Ein plötzliches Knackgeräusch aus
dem Geräteinneren, verursacht durch
thermische Ausdehnung (eine
DEUTSCH
•
natürliche und nicht gefährliche
physikalische Erscheinung).
Leises Klicken des
Temperaturreglers, wenn sich der
Kompressor ein- oder ausschaltet.
•
6.2 Energiespartipps
•
•
Öffnen Sie die Tür nicht zu häufig,
und lassen Sie diese nicht länger
offen als notwendig.
Wenn die Umgebungstemperatur
hoch ist, der Temperaturregler auf
eine niedrige Temperatur eingestellt
und das Gerät voll beladen ist, kann
es zu andauerndem Betrieb des
Kompressors und damit zu Reif- oder
Eisbildung am Verdampfer kommen.
Stellen Sie in diesem Fall den
Temperaturregler auf eine höhere
Einstellung ein, die ein automatisches
Abtauen und damit auch einen
niedrigeren Energieverbrauch
ermöglicht.
•
6.5 Hinweise zum Einfrieren
Im Folgenden finden Sie einige wertvolle
Tipps für einen optimalen
Gefriervorgang:
•
•
6.3 Hinweise für die Kühlung
frischer Lebensmittel
So erzielen Sie die besten Ergebnisse:
•
•
•
Legen Sie keine warmen Lebensmittel
oder dampfende Flüssigkeiten in den
Kühlschrank.
Decken Sie die Lebensmittel ab oder
verpacken Sie diese entsprechend,
besonders wenn sie stark riechen.
Legen Sie die Lebensmittel so hinein,
dass um sie Luft frei zirkulieren kann.
•
•
•
6.4 Hinweise für die Kühlung
Tipps:
•
•
•
Fleisch (alle Sorten): Wickeln Sie
Fleisch in geeignetes Material und
legen Sie dieses auf die Glasablage
über der Gemüseschublade. Lagern
Sie Fleisch höchstens 1 - 2 Tage.
Gekochte Lebensmittel, kalte
Gerichte: Decken Sie die Speisen ab
und ordnen Sie sie auf einer
beliebigen Ablage ein.
Obst und Gemüse: Gründlich reinigen
und in der speziellen Schublade
aufbewahren. Bananen, Kartoffeln,
Zwiebeln und Knoblauch sollten im
9
Kühlschrank nicht unverpackt
aufbewahrt werden.
Butter und Käse: Diese sollten stets in
speziellen luftdichten Behältern
verpackt sein oder in Aluminiumfolie
bzw. in lebensmittelechte Tüten
eingepackt werden, um so wenig Luft
wie möglich in der Verpackung zu
haben.
Flaschen: Sie sollten mit Deckel in der
Flaschenablage in der Tür oder im
Flaschenhalter (falls vorhanden)
aufbewahrt werden.
•
•
•
Die maximale Menge an
Lebensmitteln, die in 24 Stunden
eingefroren werden kann, ist auf dem
Typschild angegeben.
Der Gefriervorgang dauert 24
Stunden, legen Sie während dieses
Zeitraums keine weiteren
einzufrierenden Lebensmittel in das
Gerät.
Frieren Sie ausschließlich frische und
gründlich gewaschene Lebensmittel
von sehr guter Qualität ein.
Teilen Sie die Lebensmittel in kleinere
Portionen ein, damit diese schnell und
vollständig gefrieren und Sie später
nur die Menge auftauen müssen, die
Sie benötigen.
Verpacken Sie die einzufrierenden
Lebensmittelportionen stets luftdicht
in Alufolie oder in Gefrierbeuteln und
achten Sie darauf, dass die
Verpackung so wenig Luft wie
möglich enthält.
Achten Sie beim Hineinlegen von
frischen, noch ungefrorenen
Lebensmitteln darauf, dass sie keinen
Kontakt mit Gefriergut bekommen, da
dieses sonst antauen könnte.
Magere Lebensmittel lassen sich
besser und länger als fetthaltige
lagern; durch Salz wird die maximale
Lagerungsdauer verkürzt.
Wird Wassereis direkt nach der
Entnahme aus dem Gefrierfach
verzehrt, kann dies zu Frostbrand auf
der Haut führen.
10
www.electrolux.com
•
Es empfiehlt sich, das Einfrierdatum
auf jeder einzelnen Packung zu
notieren, um einen genauen Überblick
über die Lagerzeit zu haben.
6.6 Hinweise zur Lagerung
gefrorener Lebensmittel
So erzielen Sie die besten Ergebnisse
mit Ihrem Gerät:
•
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die
gefrorenen Lebensmittel vom Händler
angemessen gelagert wurden.
•
•
•
•
Achten Sie unbedingt darauf, die
eingekauften gefrorenen Lebensmittel
in der kürzest möglichen Zeit zum
Gefriergerät zu bringen.
Öffnen Sie die Tür nicht zu häufig,
und lassen Sie die Tür nicht länger
offen als notwendig.
Aufgetaute Lebensmittel verderben
sehr schnell und eignen sich nicht für
ein erneutes Einfrieren.
Das Haltbarkeitsdatum auf der
Tiefkühlkostverpackung darf nicht
überschritten werden.
7. REINIGUNG UND PFLEGE
WARNUNG!
Siehe Kapitel
Sicherheitshinweise.
7.1 Allgemeine Warnhinweise
VORSICHT!
Ziehen Sie vor jeder
Wartungsmaßnahme immer
den Netzstecker aus der

im Innern des Geräts und
achten Sie darauf, diese
nicht zu verschieben oder zu
beschädigen.
VORSICHT!
Bitte achten Sie darauf, das
Kühlsystem nicht zu
beschädigen.
VORSICHT!
Wenn Sie das Gerät
verschieben möchten, heben
Sie es bitte an der
Vorderkante an, um den
Fußboden nicht zu
verkratzen.
Das gesamte Gerät muss regelmäßig
gereinigt werden:
1. Reinigen Sie die Innenseiten und die
Zubehörteile mit lauwarmem Wasser
und etwas Neutralseife.
2. Prüfen und säubern Sie die
Türdichtungen in regelmäßigen
Abständen, um zu gewährleisten,
dass diese sauber und frei von
Fremdkörpern sind.
3. Spülen und trocknen Sie diese
sorgfältig ab.
4. Reinigen Sie den Kondensator und
den Kompressor auf der
Geräterückseite, falls diese
zugänglich sind, mit einer Bürste.
Dadurch verbessert sich die Leistung
des Geräts und es verbraucht
weniger Strom.
7.3 Abtauen des Kühlschranks
Bei normalem Betrieb wird Reif bei
jedem Anhalten des Kompressors
automatisch vom Verdampfer des
DEUTSCH
Kühlschranks entfernt. Das Tauwasser
sammelt sich in einer Auffangrinne und
läuft durch eine Abflussöffnung in einen
speziellen Behälter an der Rückseite des
Geräts über dem Kompressor, wo es
verdampft.
Reinigen Sie deshalb regelmäßig die
Abflussöffnung in der Mitte der
Auffangrinne an der Rückwand des
Kühlraums, damit das Tauwasser nicht
überläuft und auf die eingelagerten
Lebensmittel tropft.
7.4 Abtauen des Gefrierraums
VORSICHT!
Entfernen Sie Reif und Eis
vom Verdampfer niemals mit
scharfen metallischen
Gegenständen, da dieser
dadurch beschädigt werden
könnte. Versuchen Sie nicht,
den Abtauvorgang durch
andere als vom Hersteller
empfohlene mechanische
oder sonstige Hilfsmittel zu
beschleunigen. Ein
Temperaturanstieg des
Gefrierguts während des
Abtauens des Geräts kann
die Lagerzeit dieser
Lebensmittel verkürzen.
Stellen Sie 12 Stunden vor
dem Abtauen eine niedrigere
Temperatur ein, damit eine
ausreichende Kälte als
Reserve für die
Unterbrechung im Betrieb
entstehen kann.
11
Auf den Ablagen des Gefriergeräts und
im Innern des oberen Fachs bildet sich
stets etwas Reif.
Tauen Sie das Gefriergerät ab, wenn die
Reifschicht eine Stärke von etwa 3 bis 5
mm erreicht hat.
1. Schalten Sie das Gerät aus, oder
ziehen Sie den Netzstecker aus der
Steckdose.
2. Nehmen Sie das gesamte Gefriergut
heraus, verpacken Sie es in mehrere
Schichten Zeitungspapier und lagern
Sie es an einem kühlen Ort.
WARNUNG!
Fassen Sie gefrorene
Lebensmittel nicht mit
nassen Händen an. Ihre
Hände könnten an den
Lebensmitteln
festfrieren.
3. Lassen Sie die Tür offen.
Stellen Sie eine Schale mit warmem
Wasser in das Gefrierfach, um den
Abtauprozess zu beschleunigen.
Entfernen Sie bereits während des
Abtauprozesses vorsichtig Eisstücke,
die sich lösen lassen.
4. Wenn der Gefrierraum vollständig
abgetaut ist, wischen Sie das Innere
sorgfältig trocken.
5. Schalten Sie das Gerät ein.
Legen Sie die ausgelagerten
Lebensmittel nach drei Stunden wieder
in das Gefrierfach.
7.5 Stillstandszeiten
Bei längerem Stillstand des Geräts
müssen Sie folgende Vorkehrungen

porte.
6.5 Conseils pour la
congélation
Voici quelques conseils importants pour
obtenir un processus de congélation
optimal :
•
respectez la quantité maximale de
denrées fraîches que vous pouvez
congeler par 24 heures figurant sur la
plaque signalétique ;
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
le processus de congélation durant
24 heures, n'ajoutez pas d'autres
aliments à congeler pendant cette
période ;
congelez uniquement des aliments de
bonne qualité, frais et nettoyés ;
préparez la nourriture en petits
paquets pour une congélation rapide
et uniforme, adaptés à l'importance
de la consommation ;
enveloppez les aliments dans des
feuilles d'aluminium ou des sachets
en plastique et assurez-vous que les
emballages sont étanches ;
ne laissez pas des aliments frais, non
congelés, toucher des aliments déjà
congelés pour éviter une remontée en
température de ces derniers ;
les aliments maigres se conservent
mieux et plus longtemps que les
aliments gras ; le sel réduit la durée
de conservation des aliments ;
la température très basse à laquelle
se trouvent les bâtonnets glacés, s'ils
sont consommés dès leur sortie du
compartiment congélateur, peut
provoquer des brûlures ;
l'identification des emballages est
importante : indiquez la date de
congélation du produit et respectez la
durée de conservation indiquée par le
fabricant.
6.6 Conseils pour le stockage
des aliments surgelés
Pour obtenir les meilleures performances
possibles :
•
•
•
•
•
assurez-vous que les denrées
surgelées achetées dans le
commerce ont été correctement
entreposées par le revendeur ;
prévoyez un temps réduit au minimum
pour le transport des denrées du
magasin d'alimentation à votre
domicile ;
que le temps nécessaire ;
une fois décongelés, les aliments se
détériorent rapidement et ne peuvent
pas être recongelés ;
ne dépassez pas la durée de
conservation indiquée par le fabricant.

7. ENTRETIEN ET NETTOYAGE
AVERTISSEMENT!
Reportez-vous aux chapitres
concernant la sécurité.
7.1 Avertissements généraux
ATTENTION!
Débranchez l'appareil avant
toute opération d'entretien et
de nettoyage.
Cet appareil contient des
hydrocarbures dans son
circuit de réfrigération ;
l'entretien et la recharge ne
doivent donc être effectués
que par du personnel
qualifié.
Les pièces et accessoires de
l'appareil ne doivent pas être
lavés au lave-vaisselle.
7.2 Nettoyage périodique
ATTENTION!
Ne tirez pas, ne déplacez
pas, n'endommagez pas les
tuyaux et/ou câbles qui se
trouvent à l'intérieur de
l'appareil.
ATTENTION!
Attention à ne pas
endommager le système de
réfrigération.
ATTENTION!
Lorsque vous déplacez
l'appareil, veillez à le
soulever par l'avant pour
éviter de rayer le sol.
L'appareil doit être nettoyé
régulièrement :

prodotti nuovi, quindi asciugare
accuratamente.
ATTENZIONE!
Non usare detergenti, polveri
abrasive, detergenti a base
di cloro od olio, dato che
potrebbero danneggiare le
finiture.
5. UTILIZZO QUOTIDIANO
AVVERTENZA!
Fare riferimento ai capitoli
sulla sicurezza.
5.1 Ripiani rimovibili
Le guide presenti sulle pareti del
frigorifero permettono di posizionare i
ripiani a diverse altezze.
Per garantire una corretta
circolazione dell'aria, non
spostare il ripiano in vetro
posto sopra il cassetto delle
verdure.
5.2 Posizionamento dei ripiani
della porta
Per facilitare l'introduzione di alimenti di
diverse dimensioni, i ripiani della porta
possono essere posizionati ad altezze
differenti.
1. Tirare gradualmente il ripiano nella
direzione indicata dalle frecce fino a
sbloccarlo.
2. Riposizionare secondo necessità.
ITALIANO
5.3 Congelamento di alimenti
freschi
Il vano congelatore è adatto al
congelamento di cibi freschi e alla
conservazione a lungo termine di
alimenti congelati e surgelati.
Per congelare alimenti freschi, attivare la
funzione FastFreeze e introdurre gli
alimenti da congelare nel vano
congelatore.
La quantità massima di alimenti
congelabili in 24 ore è riportata sulla
targhetta dei dati, un'etichetta presente
sulle pareti interne dell'apparecchiatura.
Il processo di congelamento dura 24 ore:
non aggiungere altri alimenti da
congelare per tutta la durata del
processo.
Al termine del processo di
congelamento, ritornare alla temperatura
richiesta (vedere "Funzione
FastFreeze").
In questa condizione la
temperatura del vano
frigorifero potrebbe scendere
al di sotto di 0°C. Qualora
ciò accadesse, è necessario
reimpostare la temperatura a
un livello più alto.
39
5.4 Scongelamento
Prima dell'utilizzo, i cibi surgelati o
congelati possono essere scongelati nel
vano frigorifero o, per un processo più
veloce, a temperatura ambiente.
Gli alimenti divisi in piccole porzioni
possono essere cucinati direttamente,
senza essere prima scongelati: in questo
caso, tuttavia, la cottura durerà più a
lungo.
5.5 Produzione di cubetti di
ghiaccio
Questa apparecchiatura è dotata di una
o più vaschette per la produzione di
cubetti di ghiaccio.
Non usare strumenti
metallici per estrarre le
vaschette dal vano
congelatore.
1. Riempire d’acqua le vaschette
2. Introdurre le vaschette per il ghiaccio
nel vano congelatore.
6. CONSIGLI E SUGGERIMENTI UTILI
6.1 Rumori normali durante il
funzionamento
6.2 Consigli per il risparmio
energetico
I seguenti rumori sono da considerarsi
normali:
•
•
•
•
•
Un gorgoglio o borbottio dalle
serpentine quando viene pompato il
refrigerante.
Un ronzio o un rumore pulsante dal
compressore quando viene pompato il
refrigerante.
Uno schiocco improvviso dall'interno
dell'apparecchiatura causato dalla
dilatazione termica (fenomeno fisico
naturale e non pericoloso).
Un lieve scatto dal regolatore della
temperatura quando il compressore si
accende e si spegne.
•
Non aprire frequentemente la porta e
limitare il più possibile i tempi di
apertura.
Se la temperatura ambiente è elevata,
il Regolatore della Temperatura è
impostato su un valore basso e
l'apparecchiatura è a pieno carico, il
compressore può funzionare in
maniera ininterrotta, causando la
formazione di brina o di ghiaccio
sull'evaporatore. In tal caso, ruotare il
Regolatore della Temperatura verso
temperature più calde per consentire
lo sbrinamento automatico e ridurre il
consumo energetico.

6.3 Consigli per la
refrigerazione dei cibi freschi
Per ottenere risultati ottimali:
•
•
•
non introdurre alimenti o liquidi caldi
nel vano frigorifero
coprire o avvolgere gli alimenti, in
particolare quelli con un gusto o un
aroma forte
disporre gli alimenti in modo da
garantire un'adeguata circolazione
dell'aria

•
Consigli utili:
•
•
•
•
•
Carne (tutti i tipi): deve essere avvolta
in appositi sacchetti e collocata sul
ripiano di vetro, sopra il cassetto delle
verdure. La carne può essere
conservata al massimo per 1-2 giorni.
Alimenti cotti, piatti freddi: coprirli e
metterli su un ripiano qualsiasi.
Frutta e verdura: pulire
accuratamente e riporla in un
apposito cassetto. Non conservare in
frigorifero banane, patate, cipolle o
aglio se non confezionati
Burro e formaggio: riporli in un
apposito contenitore sottovuoto
oppure avvolgerli in un foglio di
alluminio o in un sacchetto di
polietilene per limitare il più possibile
la presenza di aria.
Bottiglie: chiuderle con un tappo e
conservarle sul ripiano portabottiglie
della porta, o (se presente) sulla
griglia portabottiglie.

6.5 Consigli per il
congelamento
•
Consigli importanti per un congelamento
ottimale:
•
•
•
la quantità massima di alimenti
congelabile in 24 ore è riportata sulla
targhetta dei dati del modello;
devono essere introdotti altri alimenti;
congelare solo alimenti freschi, di
ottima qualità e accuratamente lavati;
dividere gli alimenti in piccole
porzioni, in modo da facilitare un
congelamento rapido e consentire lo
scongelamento solo della quantità
necessaria;
avvolgere gli alimenti in pellicola di
alluminio o polietilene in modo da
evitare il contatto con l'aria;
non disporre gli alimenti freschi a
contatto con quelli già congelati, per
evitare l'innalzamento della
temperatura di questi ultimi;
grassi. Il sale riduce la durata di
conservazione dell'alimento;
i ghiaccioli, se consumati appena
prelevati dal vano congelatore,
possono causare ustioni da freddo;
è consigliabile riportare su ogni
confezione la data di congelamento,
in modo da poter controllare il tempo
di conservazione.
controllare che i surgelati esposti nei
punti vendita non presentino segni di
interruzione della catena del freddo;
accertarsi che il tempo di
trasferimento dei surgelati dal punto
vendita al congelatore domestico sia il
più breve possibile;
non aprire frequentemente la porta e
limitare il più possibile i tempi di
apertura;
una volta scongelati, gli alimenti si
deteriorano rapidamente e non
possono essere ricongelati;
non superare la durata di
conservazione indicata sulla
confezione.

7. PULIZIA E CURA
AVVERTENZA!
Fare riferimento ai capitoli
sulla sicurezza.
7.1 Avvertenze generali
ATTENZIONE!
Prima di qualsiasi intervento
di manutenzione, estrarre la
spina dalla presa.
Questa apparecchiatura
contiene idrocarburi
nell’unità di raffreddamento,
pertanto le operazioni di
manutenzione e ricarica
devono essere eseguite
esclusivamente da
personale autorizzato.
Gli accessori e i componenti
dell’apparecchiatura non
sono lavabili in lavastoviglie.
7.2 Pulizia periodica
ATTENZIONE!
Evitare di tirare, spostare o
danneggiare tubi e/o cavi
all'interno
dell'apparecchiatura.
ATTENZIONE!
Prestare attenzione a non
danneggiare il sistema
refrigerante.
ATTENZIONE!
Quando si sposta
l'apparecchiatura, sollevarla
per il bordo anteriore, così
da non graffiare il
pavimento.
L'apparecchiatura deve essere pulita
regolarmente:
1. Lavare l'interno e gli accessori con
acqua tiepida e sapone neutro.
2. Ispezionare regolarmente le
guarnizioni della porta ed eliminare
con un panno umido tracce di sporco
e residui.
3. Risciacquare e asciugare
accuratamente.
4. Pulire il condensatore e il
compressore sul retro
dell'apparecchiatura con una
spazzola.
Questa operazione migliorerà le
prestazioni dell'apparecchiatura
riducendone i consumi di energia.
7.3 Sbrinamento del frigorifero
Durante l'uso normale, la brina viene
eliminata automaticamente
dall'evaporatore del vano frigorifero ogni
volta che il motocompressore si arresta.
L'acqua di sbrinamento giunge attraverso
un condotto in un apposito recipiente
posto sul retro dell'apparecchiatura,
sopra il motocompressore, dove
evapora.
È importante pulire periodicamente il foro
di scarico dell'acqua di sbrinamento,
situato al centro del canale sulla parete
posteriore, per evitare che l'acqua
fuoriesca sugli alimenti.
42
www.electrolux.com
7.4 Sbrinamento del
congelatore
ATTENZIONE!
Per rimuovere la brina
dall'evaporatore, non usare
utensili metallici appuntiti
che possano danneggiarlo.
Non usare dispositivi
meccanici o altri mezzi
artificiali non raccomandati
dal produttore allo scopo di
accelerare il processo di
sbrinamento. Un aumento
della temperatura dei
surgelati durante lo
sbrinamento può ridurre la
loro durata di conservazione.
Circa 12 ore prima dello
sbrinamento, impostare una
temperatura più bassa per
accumulare una riserva di
freddo sufficiente per
l'interruzione del
funzionamento.
È normale che sui ripiani del congelatore
e intorno allo scomparto superiore si
formi, col tempo, uno strato di brina.
3. Lasciare la porta aperta.
Per accelerare il processo di
sbrinamento, collocare un recipiente
di acqua calda nel vano congelatore.
Rimuovere inoltre i pezzi di ghiaccio
che si staccano prima che lo
sbrinamento sia completo.
4. Una volta completato lo sbrinamento,
asciugare accuratamente l'interno.
5. Accendere l’apparecchiatura.
Dopo tre ore reintrodurre nel vano
congelatore gli alimenti precedentemente
rimossi.
7.5 Periodi di non utilizzo
Se l'apparecchiatura non viene utilizzata
per un lungo periodo, adottare le
seguenti precauzioni:
1. Scollegare l'apparecchiatura dalla
rete elettrica.
2. Estrarre tutti gli alimenti.
3. Sbrinare (se necessario) e pulire
l'apparecchiatura e tutti gli accessori.
4. Pulire l'apparecchiatura e tutti gli
accessori.
5. Lasciare la porta/le porte socchiuso/i
per evitare la formazione di odori
sgradevoli.
Quando tale strato raggiunge uno
spessore di circa 3 - 5 mm, è necessario
procedere allo sbrinamento del vano
congelatore.
1. Spegnere l'apparecchiatura o
estrarre la spina della presa a parete.
2. Rimuovere i surgelati, avvolgerli in
alcuni strati di carta di giornale e
riporli in un luogo fresco.
AVVERTENZA!
Non toccare il cibo
congelato con le mani
bagnate. Le mani
potrebbero aderire
all'alimento congelato.
8. RISOLUZIONE DEI PROBLEMI
AVVERTENZA!
Fare riferimento ai capitoli
sulla sicurezza.

1. Gradually pull the shelf in the
direction of the arrows until it comes
free.
2. Reposition as required.
The freezer compartment is suitable for
freezing fresh food and storing frozen
and deep-frozen food for a long time.
To freeze fresh food activate the
FastFreeze function and place the food
to be frozen in the freezer compartment.
The maximum amount of food that can
be frozen in 24 hours is specified on the
rating plate, a label located on the
inside of the appliance.
The freezing process lasts 24 hours:
during this period do not add other food
to be frozen.
When the freezing process is completed,
return to the required temperature (see
"FastFreeze Function").
54
www.electrolux.com
In this condition, the
refrigerator compartment
temperature might drop
below 0°C. If this occurs
reset the temperature
regulator to a warmer
setting.
5.4 Thawing
Deep-frozen or frozen food, prior to
being used, can be thawed in the
refrigerator compartment or at room
temperature, depending on the time
available for this operation.
5.5 Ice-cube production
This appliance is equipped with one or
more trays for the production of icecubes.
Do not use metallic
instruments to remove the
trays from the freezer.
1. Fill these trays with water
2. Put the ice trays in the freezer
compartment.
Small pieces may even be cooked still
frozen, directly from the freezer: in this
case, cooking will take longer.
6. HINTS AND TIPS
6.1 Normal operating sounds
The following sounds are normal during
operation:
•
•
•
•
A faint gurgling and bubbling sound
from coils sound when refrigerant is
pumped.
A whirring and pulsating sound from
the compressor when refrigerant is
pumped.
A sudden cracking noise from inside
appliance caused by thermic dilatation
(a natural and not dangerous physical
phenomenon).
A faint click noise from the
temperature regulator when the
compressor switches on or off.
6.2 Hints for energy saving
•
•
Do not open the door frequently or
leave it open longer than absolutely
necessary.
If the ambient temperature is high and
the Temperature Regulator is set to
low temperature and the appliance is
fully loaded, the compressor may run
continuously, causing frost or ice on
the evaporator. If this happens, set
the Temperature Regulator toward
warmer settings to allow automatic
defrosting and so a saving in
electricity consumption.
6.3 Hints for fresh food
refrigeration
To obtain the best performance:
•
•
•
do not store warm food or evaporating
liquids in the refrigerator
do cover or wrap the food, particularly
if it has a strong flavour
position food so that air can circulate
freely around it
6.4 Hints for refrigeration
Useful hints:
•
•
•
•
•
Meat (all types): wrap in a suitable
packaging and place it on the glass
shelf above the vegetable drawer.
Store meat for at most 1-2 days.
Cooked foods, cold dishes: cover and
place on any shelf.
Fruit and vegetables: clean thoroughly
and place in a special drawer.
Bananas, potatoes, onions and garlic
must not be kept in the refrigerator if
not packed.
Butter and cheese: place in a special
airtight container or wrap in an
aluminium foil or a polythene bag to
exclude as much air as possible.
Bottles: close with a cap and place on
the door bottle shelf, or (if available)
on the bottle rack.

6.5 Hints for freezing
•
To help you make the most of the
freezing process, here are some
important hints:
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
the maximum quantity of food which
can be frozen in 24 hours is shown on
the rating plate;
the freezing process takes 24 hours
no further food to be frozen should be
added during this period;
freeze only top quality, fresh and
thoroughly cleaned, foodstuffs;
prepare food in small portions to
enable it to be rapidly and completely
frozen and to make it possible
subsequently to thaw only the quantity
required;
wrap up the food in aluminium foil or
polythene and make sure that the
packages are airtight;
do not allow fresh, unfrozen food to
touch food which is already frozen,
thus avoiding a rise in temperature of
the latter;
lean foods store better and longer
than fatty ones; salt reduces the
storage life of food;
6.6 Hints for storage of frozen
food
To obtain the best performance from this
appliance, you should:
•
•
•
•
•
make sure that the commercially
frozen foodstuffs were adequately
stored by the retailer;
be sure that frozen foodstuffs are
transferred from the foodstore to the
freezer in the shortest possible time;
not open the door frequently or leave
it open longer than absolutely
necessary;
once defrosted, food deteriorates
rapidly and cannot be refrozen;
do not exceed the storage period
indicated by the food manufacturer.
7. CARE AND CLEANING
WARNING!
Refer to Safety chapters.
7.1 General warnings
CAUTION!
Unplug the appliance before
carrying out any
maintenance operation.
This appliance contains
hydrocarbons in its cooling
unit; maintenance and
recharging must therefore
only be carried out by
authorized technicians.
The accessories and parts of
the appliance are not
suitable for washing in a
dishwasher.
55
water ices, if consumed immediately
after removal from the freezer
compartment, can possibly cause the
skin to be freeze burnt;
it is advisable to show the freezing in
date on each individual pack to
enable you to keep tab of the storage
time.
7.2 Periodic cleaning
CAUTION!
Do not pull, move or damage
any pipes and/or cables
inside the cabinet.
CAUTION!
Take care of not to damage
the cooling system.
CAUTION!
When moving the cabinet, lift
it by the front edge to avoid
scratching the floor.
The equipment has to be cleaned
regularly:
1. Clean the inside and accessories
with lukewarm water and some
neutral soap.
56
www.electrolux.com
2. Regularly check the door seals and
wipe clean to ensure they are clean
and free from debris.
3. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
4. If accessible, clean the condenser
and the compressor at the back of
the appliance with a brush.
This operation will improve the
performance of the appliance and
save electricity consumption.
7.3 Defrosting of the
refrigerator
Frost is automatically eliminated from the
evaporator of the refrigerator
compartment every time the motor
compressor stops, during normal use.
The defrost water drains out through a
trough into a special container at the
back of the appliance, over the motor
compressor, where it evaporates.
It is important to periodically clean the
defrost water drain hole in the middle of
the refrigerator compartment channel to
prevent the water overflowing and
dripping onto the food inside.
7.4 Defrosting of the freezer
CAUTION!
Never use sharp metal tools
to scrape off frost from the
evaporator as you could
damage it. Do not use a
mechanical device or any
artificial means to speed up
the thawing process other
than those recommended by
the manufacturer. A
temperature rise of the
frozen food packs, during
defrosting, may shorten their
safe storage life.
About 12 hours prior to
defrosting, set a lower
temperature, in order to build
up sufficient chill reserve for
the interruption in operation.
A certain amount of frost will always form
on the freezer shelves and around the
top compartment.
Defrost the freezer when the frost layer
reaches a thickness of about 3-5 mm.
1. Switch off the appliance, or pull out
electrical plug from the wall socket.
2. Remove any stored food, wrap it in
several layers of newspaper and put
it in a cool place.
WARNING!
Do not touch frozen
goods with wet hands.
Hands can freeze to the
goods.
3. Leave the door open.
In order to speed up the defrosting
process, place a pot of warm water in
the freezer compartment. In addition,
remove pieces of ice that break away
before defrosting is complete.
4. When defrosting is completed, dry
the interior thoroughly.
5. Switch on the appliance.
After three hours reload the previously
removed food into the freezer
compartment.
ENGLISH
