IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Before the refrigerator-freezer is used, it must be properly positioned and installed as
described in this manual, so read the manual carefully. To reduce the risk of fire, electrical
shock or injury when using this appliance, follow basic precautions, including the following:

Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet, do not remove grounding prong, do not use an adapter, and do not
use an extension cord.

It is recommended that a separate circuit, serving only your refrigerator-freezer, be provided. Use
receptacles that cannot be turned off by a switch or pull chain.

Never clean refrigerator parts with flammable fluids. These fumes can create a fire hazard or explosion.

Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids inside or in the vicinity of this or any
other appliance. The fumes can create a fire hazard or explosion.

Do not use inflammable sprays in the vicinity of this appliance.

Before proceeding with cleaning and maintenance operations, make sure the power line of the unit is
disconnected.

Do not connect or disconnect the electric plug when your hands are wet.

Unplug the appliance or disconnect power before cleaning or servicing. Failure to do so can result in
electrical shock or death.

Do not attempt to repair or replace any part of your refrigerator-freezer unless it is specifically
recommended in this manual. All other servicing should be referred to a qualified technician.

This appliance is CFC- and HFC-free and contains a small quantity of Isobutane (R600a) which is
environmentally friendly but flammable. It does not damage the ozone layer, nor does it increase the
greenhouse effect. Care must be taken during transportation and setting up of the appliance that no parts
of the cooling system are damaged. Leaking coolant can ignite and may damage the eyes.

In the event of any damage:
- Avoid open flames and anything that creates a spark,
- Disconnect from the electrical power line,
- Air the room in which the appliance is located for several minutes, and
- Contact the Service Department for advice.

The more coolant there is in an appliance, the larger the room it should be installed in. In the event of a
leakage, if the appliance is in a small room, there is the danger of combustible gases building up. For
every ounce of coolant, at least 325 cubic feet of room space is required. The amount of coolant in the
appliance is stated on the data plate either on the back of the appliance or on an interior wall. It is
hazardous for anyone other than an authorized Service Person to carry out servicing or repairs to this
appliance.

Take serious care when handling, moving, and using the appliance to avoid either damaging the
refrigerant tubing or increasing the risk of a leak.

Replacing component parts and servicing shall be done by factory-authorized service personnel so as to
minimize the risk of possible ignition due to incorrect parts or improper service.

DANGER!
Risk of child entrapment!
Child entrapment and suffocation are not problems of the past. Junked or abandoned refrigerators are
still dangerous, even if they will "just sit in the garage a few days."

Before you throw away your old refrigerator: Take off the doors. Leave the shelves in place so
that children may not easily climb inside.

Never allow children to operate, play with, or crawl inside the refrigerator.

Use two or more people to move and install the refrigerator-freezer. Failure to do so can result in back or
other injury.

To ensure proper ventilation for your appliance, the front of the unit must be completely unobstructed.
Choose a well-ventilated area with temperatures above 60°F (16°C) and below 90°F (32°C). This unit
must be installed in an area protected from the elements, such as wind, rain, water spray or drips.

The refrigerator-freezer should not be located next to ovens, grills or other sources of high heat.

The appliance must be installed with all electrical, water and drain connections in accordance with state
and local codes. A standard electrical supply (115 V AC only, 60 Hz), properly grounded in accordance
with the National Electrical Code and local codes and ordinances, is required.

Do not kink or pinch the power supply cord of the refrigerator-freezer.

The fuse (or circuit breaker) size should be 15 amperes.

It is important for the appliance to be leveled in order to work properly. You may need to make several
adjustments to level it.

Check for leaks after connection.

Never allow children to operate, play with or crawl inside the refrigerator.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

IMPORTANT: Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other
than those recommended by the manufacturer.

IMPORTANT: Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.

IMPORTANT: Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartments of the appliance,
unless they are of a type recommended by the manufacturer.

Do not use solvent-based cleaning agents or abrasives on the interior. These cleaners may damage or
discolor the interior.

This type of refrigerator-freezer is widely used in places such as hotels, offices, student dormitories and
houses. It is most suitable for refrigerating and storing food items. Do not use this apparatus for other
than its intended purpose.

Installation
CAUTION: After unpacking you MUST allow this appliance to stand upright for at least 2 hours to
allow the lubricant and refrigerant to drain back into the compressor and stabilize. Failure to do
so may adversely affect performance and the lifetime of this unit.
Unpacking Your Refrigerator-Freezer:
WARNING: Use two or more people to move this appliance. Failure to do so can result in back or
other injury.
 Remove tape and any labels (except the rating label) from your refrigerator-freezer before using.
 To remove any remaining tape or glue, rub the area briskly with your thumb.
 Tape or glue residue can also be easily removed by rubbing a small amount of liquid dish soap over the
adhesive with your fingers. Wipe with warm water and dry.
 Do not use sharp instruments, rubbing alcohol, flammable fluids, or abrasive cleaners to remove tape or
glue. These products can damage the surface of your refrigerator-freezer.
 When moving the appliance, do not tilt it beyond 45° from the upright position.
Cleaning Before Use：
After you remove all of the packaging materials, especially the foam between the outside condenser and
cabinet, clean the inside of your refrigerator-freezer before using it. See Cleaning and Maintenance.
Space Requirements:
WARNING: Keep flammable materials and vapors, such as gasoline, away from this appliance.
Failure to do so can result in fire, burns, explosion or death.
 To ensure proper ventilation for your refrigerator-freezer, allow for 4” (about 100mm) of space on each
side, 4” between the back of your refrigerator-freezer and the wall, and 4” above the appliance.
 If you are installing your refrigerator-freezer next to a fixed wall, leave sufficient space on the hinge side to
allow for the door to swing open.
 Never install your refrigerator-freezer near a heat source (e.g., oven, radiator) or in direct sunlight.
Electrical Requirements:

Failure to follow these instructions can result in electrical shock, fire or death.
Before you move your refrigerator-freezer into its final location, it is important to make sure you have the
proper electrical connection. A standard 115Volt AC only / 60Hz electrical supply is required, properly
grounded and with a 15 amp fuse. It is recommended that a separate circuit serving only this appliance be
provided. Use a socket that cannot be turned off with a switch or pull chain. Do not use an extension cord.
NOTE: Before performing any type of installation, disconnect the refrigerator-freezer from the electrical
source. When you are finished, reconnect the refrigerator-freezer to the electrical source and reset the
control to the desired setting.

Leveling:
If the appliance is not leveled during installation, the doors may not close or seal properly, causing cooling,
frost, or moisture problems. It is very important for the refrigerator-freezer to be level in order to function
properly.
To level your refrigerator-freezer you may either turn the adjustable foot clockwise to raise that side of the
appliance or turn it counter-clockwise to lower that side.
NOTE: Having someone push against the top of the refrigerator-freezer will take some weight off the
adjustable foot and make it easier to turn.
Operation
To obtain the best possible results from your appliance, it is important that you operate it properly.

Display– When the refrigerator-freezer is first turned on, the display screen is fully lit for 3
seconds, and then only LED 3 is lit, indicating normal operation.
Each time the SET key A is pressed, the next LED will light. When the temperature setting has been
completed, the refrigerator will operate according to the set value after 5 minutes.
The order of the setting is as follows：

If the appliance is operating correctly, the actual operating position of the refrigerator will be on display.

If there is a malfunction, the appropriate LED combination will show the failure code (see chart below):

weekdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00PM (ET).
Fresh Food Storage:
Wrap or store food in the refrigerator in airtight and moisture-proof material. This prevents food odor and
taste transfer throughout the refrigerator.
 Fruit – Wash, let dry and store in refrigerator in plastic bags or crisper.
 Leafy vegetables– Remove wrapping and trim or tear off bruised and discolored areas, wash in cold water
and drain. Place in plastic bag or plastic container and store in crisper.
 Fish –Use fresh fish the same day as purchased.
 Meat – Store most meat in original wrapping as long as it is airtight and moisture-proof. Re-wrap if
necessary.
 Leftovers –Cover leftovers with plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Plastic containers with tight lids can also be
used.
Frozen Food Storage:
Temperature Control (Thermostat)
When using the refrigerator-freezer for the first time or after
defrosting, turn the temperature control to the “MAX” setting
for at least two hours before introducing the food to be stored.
All frozen food products you purchase should be placed in the
freezer compartment as soon as possible to keep the frozen
food from defrosting.
Storage recommendations printed on the packaging of the
frozen food by the manufacturer should always be followed.

Freezing Fresh Food
Ensure that your freezing operations are carried out under the most hygienic conditions as freezing alone
does not sterilize the food. It is advisable to freeze the food by packing it into separate meal portions and not
in bulk form. Never put hot or even warm foodstuffs into the freezer compartment. Prior to storing the frozen
food, pack it in plastic bags, aluminum sheets or freezer containers and place into the freezer compartment.
Never overload the freezer compartment; leave room between packages for proper air circulation.
NOTE: Never put bottled food or drinks in the freezer compartment.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning Your Appliance:
1. Before you start to clean your refrigerator-freezer, unplug it.
2. Use a clean sponge or soft cloth and a mild detergent in warm water. Do not use abrasive or harsh
cleaners.
3. Hand wash, rinse and dry all surfaces thoroughly.
4. Do not use cleaning waxes, concentrated detergents, bleaches or cleaners containing petroleum on
plastic or rubber parts.
5. Never use paper towels, window sprays, scouring cleansers or flammable fluids on plastic parts as these
can scratch or damage material.
6. Clean with a cloth soaked in the mild detergent solution and then dry with a soft cloth.
Prolonged Off Periods:
If the refrigerator-freezer will not be in use for a long period of time, proceed as follows:
1. Disconnect the appliance by removing the plug from the wall socket.
2. Clean and dry the inside as instructed under the heading Cleaning Your Appliance.
3. Leave the door open to prevent any unpleasant smells from building up while the refrigerator-freezer is
not in use.
Replacing the Light Bulb:
NOTE：Before removing the light bulb, unplug
the appliance. Failure to do so could result in
electrical shock or personal injury.

After unplugging the AC power cord, pull down
the lamp cover to remove it.
Unscrew the bulb.
Replace with a 15-watt bulb that is the same
shape and size.

Changing the Reversible Door:
Before reversing the door swing, be sure the appliance is unplugged and empty. Provide additional support
for the doors while hinges are being removed. Do not depend on the door magnets to hold the door in place.
It is recommended that two people perform this task. DO NOT lay the appliance completely flat as this may
damage the coolant system.
Remove right bottom hinge and reserve the
screws. Remove screw covers at left corner
and put them into the screw holes at right
corner. Install left hinge by using those
reserved screws.
Remove the screws from the
middle hinge. Lift the
refrigerator door up and away
from the appliance.

Remove right pin assemblies from the bottom
of the freezer and refrigerator doors. On the
opposite side, attach the replacement pin
assemblies (located in the plastic bag with the
Use and Care Manual) with a screwdriver.
NOTE: You must re-use the screws from the
pin assemblies that are removed in this step
when attaching the new assemblies.
Place the refrigerator door on the bottom hinge. Be
sure the door is aligned horizontally and vertically.
Attach middle hinge to refrigerator door and attach
bolt washer to the back of the hinge, then fix them
to middle beam and fasten them with a
screwdriver.
Place the freezer door on the middle
hinge. Ensure that the door is aligned
horizontally and vertically, and that the
gasket seals on all sides before attaching
the top hinge. Attach the top hinge and
replace the hinge cover.

Troubleshooting
In case of malfunction, you can solve many common problems easily.
If your refrigerator-freezer does not operate:
Is the power supply cord plugged in?
If the doors will not close completely:
Are the drawers and/or shelves out of position?
Are the gaskets dirty?
Is the refrigerator-freezer level?
If the refrigerator-freezer is noisy when running:
Check that the appliance is level and is not in contact with another appliance or article of kitchen
furniture.
If the refrigerator-freezer does not cool sufficiently:
Have the doors been opened too often, or have they been left open for a while? If so, it will take time
for the refrigerator-freezer to reach its set temperature.
Has the airflow at the rear of the appliance been reduced due to insufficient clearance?
The following characteristics should not be looked upon as a problem:
 A gentle trickling sound caused by coolant flowing through the pipes.
 Compressor operating at high temperature.

Limited Warranty
ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Within the 48 contiguous United States, for one year from the date of purchase, when this appliance is operated and
maintained according to instructions attached to or furnished with the product, warrantor will pay for factory-specified
parts and repair labor to correct defects in materials or workmanship. Service must be provided by a designated service
company. Outside the 48 states, all parts are warranted for one year from manufacturing defects. Plastic parts, shelves
and cabinets are warranted to be manufactured to commercially acceptable standards, and are not covered from damage
during handling or breakage.
5-YEAR COMPRESSOR WARRANTY
1. The compressor is covered for 5 years.
2. Replacement does not include labor.
ITEMS WARRANTOR WILL NOT PAY FOR:
1. Service calls to correct the installation of your appliance, to instruct you how to use your appliance, to replace or
repair fuses or to correct wiring or plumbing.
2. Service calls to repair or replace appliance light bulbs or broken shelves. Consumable parts (such as filters) are
excluded from warranty coverage.
3. Damage resulting from accident, alteration, misuse, abuse, fire, flood, acts of God, improper installation, installation
not in accordance with electrical or plumbing codes, or use of products not approved by warrantor.
4. Replacement parts or repair labor costs for units operated outside the United States.
5. Repairs to parts or systems resulting from unauthorized modifications made to the appliance.
6. The removal and reinstallation of your appliance if it is installed in an inaccessible location or is not installed in
accordance with published installation instructions.
