Stop operation and close the window in storm or hurricane. Use a soft cloth to clean. Do not use harsh detergents, solvents, etc. Do not touch the metal parts of the product when removing the air filter. They are very sharp! • It may cause product failure. • There is risk of fire, electric shock, or damage to the plastic parts of the product. Do not step on or put anyting on the product. (outdoor units) Always insert the filter securely. Clean the filter every two weeks or more often if necessary. Do not insert hands or other objects through the air inlet or outlet while the product is operated. • There is risk of personal injury and failure of product. • A dirty filter reduces the efficiency of the air conditioner and could cause product malfunction or damage. • There are sharp and moving parts that could cause personal injury. Do not drink the water drained from the product. Use a firm stool or ladder when cleaning or maintaining the product. Replace the all batteries in the remote control with new ones of the same type. Owner's Manual 5 Prior to Operation Prior to Operation Preparing for operation 1. Contact an installation specialist for installation. 2. Plug in the power plug properly. 3. Use a dedicated circuit. 4. Do not use an extension cord. 5. Do not start/stop operation by plugging/unplugging the power cord. 6. If the cord/plug is damaged, replace it with only an authorized replacement part. Usage 1. Being exposed to direct airflow for an extended period of time could be hazardous to your health. Do not expose occupants, pets, or plants to direct airflow for extended periods of time. 2. Due to the possibility of oxygen deficiency, ventilate the room when used together with stoves or other heating devices. 3. Do not use this air conditioner for non-specified special purposes (e.g. preserving precision devices, food, pets, plants, and art objects). Such usage could damage the items. Cleaning and maintenance 1. Do not touch the metal parts of the unit when removing the filter. Injuries can occur when handling sharp metal edges. 2. Do not use water to clean inside the air conditioner. Exposure to water can destroy the insulation, leading to possible electric shock. 3. When cleaning the unit, first make sure that the power and breaker are turned off. The fan rotates at a very high speed during operation. There is a possibility of injury if the unitʼs power is accidentally triggered on while cleaning inner parts of the unit. START/STOP BUTTON Operation starts when this button is pressed and stops when the button is pressed again. 2. OPERATION MODE SELECTION BUTTON Used to select the operation mode. 3. ROOM TEMPERATURE SETTING BUTTONS Used to select the room temperature. 4. INDOOR FAN SPEED SELECTOR Used to select fan speed in four steps low, medium, high and CHAOS. 5. JET COOL Used to start or stop the speed cooling/heating. (Speed cooling/heating operates super high fan speed.) 6. CHAOS SWING BUTTON Used to stop or start louver movement and set the desired up/down airflow direction. 7. ON/OFF TIMER BUTTONS Used to set the time of starting and stopping operation. 8. TIME SETTING BUTTONS Used to adjust the time. 9. TIMER SET/CANCEL BUTTON Used to set the timer when the desired time is obtained and to cancel the Timer operation. 10. SLEEP MODE AUTO BUTTON Used to set Sleep Mode Auto operation. 11. AIR CIRCULATION BUTTON Used to circulate the room air without cooling or heating. 12. ROOM TEMPERATURE CHECKING BUTTON Used to check the room temperature. 13. PLASMA(OPTIONAL) Used to start or stop the plasma-purification function. 14. CAUTION:of handling the Remote Controller • Aim at the signal receiver on the wired remote controller so as to operate. • The remote control signal can be received at a distance of up to about 7m. • Be sure that there are no obstructions between the remote controller and the signal receptor. • Do not drop or throw the remote controller. • Do not place the remote controller in a location exposed to direct sunlight, or near the heating unit, or any other heat source. • Block a strong light over the signal receptor with a curtain or etc. so as to prevent the abnormal operation. When setting the desiredtemperature lower than room temperature, there is only ventilation wind. v Setting Temp Range : 16˚C~30˚C (60˚F~86˚F) Dehumidification mode 1. Press Button to turn on the indoor 2. Press button to select Dehumidification mode. The temperature setting can not be adjusted during operation this mode. 3. Press the button to select airflow rate SLO ’ LO ’ MED ’ HI ’ (NONE)’ (The lists depends on products function) v NONE : Power level of Fan Speed In rainy season or high humidity climate, it is possible to operate simultaneously dehumidifier and cooling mode to remove humidity effectively. When filter is covered by dust, it will reduce cooling/ heating efficiency and accumulate more electric power. Therefore, do clean the filter whenever cleaning time is expired. However, it is possible to control normally by wireless remote controller. To release this setting, keep pressing button until the icon flash and then enter the button. 18 Ceiling Cassette Air Conditioner Operating Instructions ENGLISH Function setting : Elevation grill (optional) This function is to move the indoor filter up/ down for cleaning filter. The setting is able to apply only to product that has this function • Press button • Repeat pressing flash button until the icon • Press button to control the grill Up/ Down or stop it • button: move grill up from stopping or stop grill from moving • button: move grill down from stopping or stop grill from moving. Indication with LCD: Up-UP, Down-DN, Stop-SP 3. After setting, press button to exit or system will automatically release without input after 60 seconds. Details: In case of such model that has no this sub function, it doesn't appear when pressing SUBFUNCTION button. Keep pressing button for 4 secs to enter Setting current time mode (the 't' Segment flashing) 2. Press key to adjust the current month/day 3. Press key to move to AM/ PM setting mode (the 'AM/ PM segment will flash). 4. Setting AM/ PM value by pressing button. 5. Press button to move to 'Hour' setting mode (the 'Hour' segment will flash) 6. Setting Hour value by pressing button. 7. Press button to move to 'Minute' setting mode (the 'Minute' segment will flash) 8. Setting Minute value by pressing button. 9. Press button to finish 10. In the process, press key to release and exit from setting mode (In case of exit with incomplete information, it will return to the previous setting ) Owner's Manual 21 ENGLISH Setting Current Time Operating Instructions Programming : Setting Simple Reservation In case of there is not any reservation setup on system, it is possible to make a SIMPLE reservation on indoor unit. 1. Press button to enter the Programming mode (the segment flashing) If the indoor is ON, we can make the reservation for turning OFF. In reserve, if the indoor is OFF, we can set the timer for turning ON. The reservation time is from 1 to 7 hours. 2. Press button to adjust reservation time. 3. Press button to finish setting. 4. In case of using wireless remote controller, the time reservation setting unit is every 10 minutes. With wired remote controller, this value is adjusted by every hour. But, in fact, it can control with accuracy up to 10 minutes. Ex.) By wireless remote controller we can set the timer for turning OFF after 1 hour 10 minutes. It displays 2 hour on wired remote controller but in fact, it will operate this command after 1 hour 10 minutes. 5. Adjust the reservation time after finish reservation setting will release the previous one. 22 Ceiling Cassette Air Conditioner Operating Instructions This function is able to turn off Air conditioner when sleeping or after some hours. 1. Press button to enter the Programming mode 2. Repeat pressing button to enter the SLEEP reservation setting mode (the segment flashing) 3. Press button to adjust reservation time The SLEEP reservation time is from 1 to 7 hours 4. Press button to finish setting. Whenever reservation is done, the icon will flash When this setting is released, the icon will disappear. 5. Adjust the reservation time after finish reservation setting will release the previous one. Please set a suitable time for sleep reservation (turning cooling for long time may be harmful to health) Owner's Manual 23 ENGLISH Programming : Setting Sleep Reservation Operating Instructions Programming : Setting ON Reservation This function is able to turn air conditioner ON after a setting time. 1. Press button 2. Repeat pressing button to enter the ON reservation setting mode (the segment flashing) 3. Press button to adjust AM/ PM setting 4. Press button to Hour setting mode. When the Hour icon flash, please setting time. The setting range is within 1~12 5. Press button to shift to Minute setting mode When the Minute icon flash, please setting minute the setting range is within 00~59 6. Press 24 Ceiling Cassette Air Conditioner button to finish setting. Owner's Manual 25 Operating Instructions Programming : Weekly Reservation The weekly reservation is active after setting current time 1. Press the button to enter the reservation setting mode. 2. Repeat pressing button to enter the weekly reservation setting mode (the segment flashing) 3. Set the ON/ OFF reservation for day in week - Press to adjust timing and Left/ Right to shift to next setting mode - A day is considered as non-reservation if there is not any time reservation within. 4. Press 26 Ceiling Cassette Air Conditioner button to finish setting. Operating Instructions ENGLISH Programming : Holiday Reservation This function is to automatically stop the machine working on some days. 1. Press button to enter the reservation setting mode 2. Repeat pressing button to enter the holiday reservation setting mode (the segment flashing) 3. Press button to move to holiday position. 4. Press button to set or release a selected day as holiday or not. (j the holiday is indicated with a underline) 5. If there is any holiday from Monday to Sunday, the segment on LCD will be displayed. 6. Press the button to exit or if there is not any input, system will release any setting after 10 seconds 7. Turn off the breaker. CAUTION Turn off the circuit breaker when the air conditioner is not going to be used for a long time. Dirt may collect and may cause a fire.
