In this case, please go to Settings to change the App permissions.

1
1. Introduction
The MobileFocusHD (Plus), designed by EverFocus, is the application for users to remotely access
to EverFocus’ DVRs, NVRs, IP Cameras and CMS (Genie XMS servers) on their iPad. The application
is compatible with current models of EverFocus’ DVRs, NVRs and IP Cameras, and can be
downloaded from the Internet.
The MobileFocusHD (Plus) applications not only feature a completely overhauled user interface
which gives a better clarity and simplicity in style, but also add or improve several functions such
as playback, local recording and device data backing up in QR Code. This brand new
MobileFocusHD (Plus) application will definitely take your remote monitoring via mobile device to
a next level.

2. iPad
MobileFocusHD (free version) and MobileFocusHD Plus are designed for iPad and can be
downloaded from the App Store.
2.1 Installation
1. To download the MobileFocusHD, tap the App Store.

Function Description
Tap to edit the devices list. Please refer to 2.3.2 How to Edit
Device List.
In the Device List / Genie XMS Server List / Push Notification
List, swipe down from the top to display the search bar.
Shows the added devices. Tap a device to connect its video
stream on to the selected screen.
The Unclassified [*] indicates the number of devices which
haven’t been added to a group.
Please refer to 2.3.3 How to Connect Device.
Tap to add new device or a new group. Please refer to 2.3.1
How to Add Device.
Tap to configure the device settings.
Tap to select a desired channel. Selected channel will be
highlighted with an orange frame. Tap and hold on a channel to
show the channel in one division screen display.
Tap to close the camera stream.
Tap to show DVR / NVR / Genie XMS server device list.
Tap to show IP camera device list.
Tap to show Push Notification List.
Tap to show user guide and release note, tap to import and
export device or tap to configure alarm pop-up window setting.
Please refer to 2.4 Information.
Tap to close all the camera streams.
Tap and move the slide bar to adjust the audio volume.
Tap to bring up the PTZ control panel. Please refer to 2.3.5 PTZ
Control.
Tap to take a snapshot; you can select to take a snapshot of all
channels or single channel. The snapshot files will be saved at
your Photos folder in iPad.
Tap to enable or disable audio input device.
Tap to enable or disable audio function.
Tap to display the channel in single division screen.
Tap to change to quad division screen display.
Tap to display live view in full screen.
Tap to record the video to the local mobile device (only record
one channel at a time). The recording files will be saved at your
Photos folder in your iPad. Please refer to 2.3.6 Local Recording.

2.3 Operation Guide
2.3.1
How to Add Device
You can add EverFocus’ DVRs/NVRs or IP cameras in the respective device lists, and you can
add the devices manually or automatically by Local Search.
To add IP devices manually:

3. Then, the device setting page will pop up as below:
4. Tap the Model option to bring up the model list and scroll to select a model. For Genie
XMS Servers, please select XMS/Commander2/Elite2.
5. Enter the Name, IP/URL, Port, User account and Password of the device. Keep the
Second Stream on. We highly recommend using the Second Stream for saving network
bandwidth.
To add IP devices automatically by Local Search:
1. Follow the above 1 and 2 steps and tap Local Search. This page appears.

2. Tap a device to add that device.
3. Enter the User account and Password of the selected device.
The default user account and password are as follows:
DVR / NVR: The default user account is admin and the default password is 11111111.
IP Camera: The default user account is user1 and the default password is 11111111.
4. Keep the Second Stream on. We highly recommend using the Second Stream for saving
network bandwidth.

Tap Save to save the added device.
For the Second Stream function to work, the Sub-Stream function of the IP devices has to be
enabled in advance. Please refer to the User’s Manual of your IP devices.

* EverFocus DVRs and NVRs support dual streams, and the sub-stream function has been
automatically enabled with a fixed resolution of 360 x 240; but for certain models, users are
able to configure the settings (resolution, frame rate…) of sub-stream.
** EverFocus IP cameras support triple streams, please enable the Stream 2 because the
MobileFocus will only source the Stream 2 for mobile live viewing.

To add Vehicles:
You have to configure the Vehicle settings on the Genie XMS server first, and then add this
Genie XMS server to the MobileFocusHD (Plus).

Note: To connect the Vehicle through MobileFocusHD (Plus), your Mobile DVR in the Vehicle
need to equipped with 3G/4G module.

On the Maintain page of the Genie XMS server (Device Detail > Add), add a Vehicle to
the Xfleet Group. Please refer to the Genie XMS User’s Manual for more details.

2.3.2
How to Edit Device List
You can edit or delete devices in the Device List, create a group or change the order of the
devices on the Device List page.
To delete a device:
1. Tap the Edit button on the Device List.
2. Tap the red circle
first and tap the Delete button.

To view or change settings of a device:
1. Tap the
icon to bring up the editing page.
2. Tap each field to change the setting, and tap Save to save the changes and return to the
Device List page.

To create a group:

button, and then tap Add Group.

You can search the device in the search field and tap the devices which you want to
group, and then tap Save.

Enter a group name, and tap OK. Then, the device group is successfully created in the
Device List.
4. The group will be added on the top of the Device List, and you can still tap the

tap an IP camera in the list, and its video stream will show on that screen.

You can tap the video stream to hide the channel name and date/time. Tap again to show the
channel name and date/time.

Gesture Digital Zoom
The application also supports touch gestures. You can spread to zoom in or pinch to zoom out
on “single” division screen / full screen.

PTZ Controls
You can remotely control the PTZ cameras or configure the PTZ Preset setting. Before start
using the Pattern and Tour functions, please note that you need to pre-configure these
settings of the connected PTZ camera through local OSD or remote webpage. Please refer to
the User’s Manual of your PTZ camera.
The interface also supports touch gestures on “single” division screen / full screen. You can
pinch to zoom out, spread to zoom in and swipe to move PTZ camera direction.
To control the PTZ camera, tap the

Function Description
Tap to enter the number for the configured action. Tap C to clear
the number, or tap GO to activate the selected action number.
Preset: To force the camera to turn to the pre-configured preset
position.
Set: This button is only for setting Preset settings.
Pattern: To move the camera in a pre-configured sequence
Action Control movement.
Auto Pan: To force the camera to pan endlessly.

Tour: To move the camera in a pre-configured sequence consists of
different actions.
OSD: Tap to bring up the OSD menu on the live view screen.

Follow the steps below to use PTZ Action Control Buttons:
Preset:
To program a Preset Position:
1. Move the PTZ camera to a desired position.
2. Tap the Preset button.
3. Set up a preset number for the current position by tapping the number buttons. The
number will be displayed in the number box.
4. Tap the Set button to save the settings.
To jump to Preset Position:
1. Tap the Preset button.
2. Tap the desired Preset number.
3. Tap the GO button.
Pattern:
To activate the Pattern function:
1. Tap the Pattern button.
2. Tap “1” in the number box. (Only activates Pattern “1” configured in EverFocus cameras)
3. Tap the Go button.

Auto Pan:
To activate the Auto Pan function:
Just tap the Auto Pan button to force the camera to pan endlessly.
Tour:
To activate the Tour function:
1. Tap the Tour button.
2. Tap “1” in the number box. (Only activates Tour “1” configured in EverFocus cameras)
3. Tap the Go button.
OSD:
To activate the OSD function:
1. Tap the DSD button to bring up the OSD menu o f the analog PTZ camera on the screen.
2. Use the Up and Down direction buttons to select among each menu item.
3. Tap the Right direction button to enter the selected menu item, and tap Left direction
button to return to the previous page.
Please note that you can also control OSD menu through touch gestures. Swipe up and
down to select the menu item, swipe right to enter, and swipe left to return.

Local Recording (MobileFocusHD Plus Only)
You can record the videos to your mobile device, and the recording files will be saved at a
created EverFocus album in your Photos files.
1. Tap to select a channel for recording (only record one channel at a time).
2. Tap the
button to start recording, and there will be a recoding status icon
appeared on the upper-right side of the channel screen.
3. Tap
again to stop recording.
4. When the message pops up as below, the recording is successfully saved.

Search and Playback (DVR / NVR Only)
You can search video by time or event to play back certain recordings. Currently, this function
is only available for DVRs / NVRs.
To search and play back the recordings, please tap the
window as below. Please tap Time Search or Event Search.
Search icon to bring up the
Time Search: Search and play back the recording from a specific time point.
1. Tap the Select Date and Select Time fields to select a playback start time.

Playback Mode Interface:
The MobileFocusHD (free) supports one channel playback while the Plus version supports 1 /
4-channel playback.
When you first play back the recordings, the screen will only display single division. You can also
switch the channel to another camera; for the Plus version users, you can select different
division displays, and connect the rest recorded video streams on the screen at the same
playback time.

Function Description
Tap to return to the devices list.
Shows the cameras connected to the DVR / NVR. Tap a
camera to connect its video stream on to the selected
screen.

2.4 Push Notification
Push Notification function notifies you of occurred events by sending messages to your
mobile devices. Before start using Push Notification, the respective functions of the Genie
XMS Server or the connected devices have to be enabled in advance. Please refer to 2.4.3
Enable Push Notification.

2.4.1
Read Push Notification
In the Push Notification List, you can read push notifications, display live view or play back
the recording of devices.
1. Tap
icon to show the Genie XMS Server List.
2. Tap a Genie XMS Server to bring up the corresponding Push Notification List. You can tap
General tab or xFleet tab to switch between General notifications and xFleet
notifications.

3. Tap a push notification to bring up the menu as below.
4. Tap Live View on the menu to bring up the live view page, and its video stream will show
on the screen.

5. Tap Playback View on the menu to bring up the playback view page, and start playing back
the event recording.
6. The read push notifications will be marked in white; while those unread push notifications
remain being red.
Note:
1. To play video streams in the Live view / Playback page, make sure you use the network
that allows you to access the Genie XMS Server, or you will fail to connect the devices.
2. If you tap a push notification in standby mode, it will bring up the Live view page directly.

Delete Push Notification
You can delete push notifications in the Push Notification List.
To delete a push notification:
In the Push Notification List, swipe a push notification to the left and tap the Delete button.
To delete all push notifications:

Enable Push Notification
To use the Push Notification function, you have to enable the Push Notification function both
on the Genie XMS server and MobileFocusHD.
Enable Push Notification on the Genie XMS servers:
On the Alarm/Event Setting(Device) page (Setting > Event > Alarm/Event Setting(Device),
check the Enable column to enable the alarm function and check the Mobile Notification
column to enable the Push Notification function for each connected device (DVR / NVR / IP
Camera).
Note: For the alarm function to work on the Genie XMS servers, some settings include
Network, Event or Alarm Server have to be configured on the device end in advance. Please
refer to the Genie XMS User’s Manual for more details.
Enable Push Notification on MobileFocusHD:
1. To enable or disable the Push Notification function, tap the
server to bring up the editing page.

2. Find Receive Notification and flip the switch to turn ON the push notification function. By
default, the Receive Notification function is ON for any newly added Genie XMS servers.

Import / Export Device
This function is used for copying or backing up the device settings from your Device List, and
the data will be saved in QR code image at a dedicated folder (EverFocus) in the Photos.
The Export function is for users to generate a QR Code of the added devices, so that another
iPhone / iPod / iPad can Import the QR code to add the same devices without going through
configuration steps again.
To import the devices by QR code:
1. Tap the Import Device button.
2. You can either scan the QR code or just load the QR code saved in your Photos folder to
add the devices.

3. After the import process is completed, the following message will pop up, and the devices
will be added to your Device List.

To generate a QR code of the devices:
1. Tap Export Device, and the window shows as following:
2. Tap the device which you want to export and tap Export. *Please note that do not export
more than 16 devices at one time.

3. When the QR code image is generated, tap Save to save the image.
4. You can find the QR Code image at a dedicated folder (EverFocus) in the Photos.

Alarm Pop-up Setting
The Alarm Pop-up function is for you to see an alarm-triggered pop-up window. The function
is disabled by default. To set up the alarm pop-up setting:
1. Slide the Alarm Pop-up slide bar to the right to enable the function.
2. When a channel is triggered by an alarm, the icon
will show up and a pop-up window
on the top-left corner of the pop-up window to close it. Please be
will display. Tap
noted that once the window is closed, the alarm pop-up function is disabled. If you don’t
close it manually, the window will close after 5 seconds.

Note: The warning message will display at the bottom of the screen when you close the
pop-up window.

Smooth Video
When the Smooth Video function is enabled, the streaming can be resized to D1 or lower size
to maintain performance.
