DESCRIPTION
FEATURES
TOA T-650 and T-550 create clear and uniform sound field
and are ideal for middle-size indoor sports facilities and multipurpose halls with high reverberations. The main speaker T650 has 2 CD horns and independent network circuits. One
horn is a dedicated short distance horn (90 horizontal x 40
vertical) and the other is a long distance (60 horizontal x 30
vertical) horn. Together they are able to create uniform sound
field throughout the target area and this also contributes to
prevention of howling even when using the microphone close
to the speaker. The CD horns reproduce much of the human
voice frequencies and the crossover frequency is set at a low
band of 1.2 kHz, to ensure clarity in space with much
reverberations. If the howling should occur, the network’s
protection circuit averts damages to the speakers.
TOA T-650 also has 2 woofers arranged vertically to control
directivity of low to middle frequencies and decrease sound
from escaping toward the ceiling. Woofers and the long
distance horn are aimed 10 downward and the short distance
horn is set 40 downward for creating ideal sound pressure
distribution. Speakers may be mounted on walls using just
the included brackets and tedious angle adjustments are
unnecessary.
The compact yet powerful sub-speaker, TOA T-550, uses a
coaxial unit composed of a newly developed DIFRAX* fixed
directional (60 horizontal x 60 vertical) horn and a 25 cm
woofer. The woofer component is identical to that used in T650. This also guarantees even sound reproduction when T550 is used in conjunction with T-650.
Both T-650 and T-550 use high durability material and parts,
and using the included brackets ensures secure mounting on
walls. They also have good shock resistance, such as from
balls, due to direct mounting of the net on the speaker baffle.
They can be used in high-impedance applications by
combining with matching transformer, MT-S0601, sold
separately.

DIFRAX* fixed directional (60 horizontal x 60 vertical) horn
and a 25 cm woofer. (T-550)
6. Adoption of titanium diaphragm with high reproducibility of
high frequencies for the driver. (T-550)
7. The coaxial unit uses the same woofer for T-650 for
securing balanced and uniform sound. (T-550)
8. The angle can be adjusted 15 left/right even after
installation by using the included brackets. (T-650)
9. The angle can be adjusted from 15 to 75 downward even
after installation by using the included brackets. (T-550)
10. Combination with the matching transformer (MT-S0601,
sold separately) allows use in high impedance

Note
*DIFFRAX horn: The newly developed horn structure for coaxial
speakers, that is aimed at controlling the influence of diffraction effect at
the edge of high frequency horn’s opening.
