The DHT-487DV Home Theater System brings you the sonic and visual expertise of Denon's
acclaimed separate components, acoustically matched loudspeakers in a simple and ready
made package for almost any environment.
The receiver is equipped with 5 channels of high current amplifier power and DSP processing
technology like that found on Denon's more expensive receivers, and also equipped XM-HD Surround
and iPod command and control, while the DVD player has HDMI output and scaling function.
The speakers feature Denon design and engineering with the added benefit and expertise of
European Sound Designers tuning, to bring you the finest in audio playback reproduction.

DVD Video Player: DVD-557

HDMI is the only interface in consumer electronics that can carry both uncompressed
high-definition (HD) video and uncompressed multi-channel audio in all HD formats
including 720p, 1080i and even 1080p. An all-digital, uncompressed signal translates
into the highest quality video and audio, seen and heard, direct from the source.
DVD-557 scaling circuit supports up to 1080i.

iPod (*1) playback can be enjoyed through the
AVR-487 when the ASD-1R, Denon's original
Control Dock for iPod (sold separately), is connected to the dedicated control terminal of the AVR487. The iPod can also be controlled via the
remote controller supplied with the AVR-487.
*1) Supports 3rd-generation and later iPods equipped with a
Dock connector. Some functions may not work depending on
the generation of the iPod and the version of the software..

The 100-watt subwoofer features a 8" woofer to drive home the low frequency

The center channel 'dialogue' speaker features a 2-way design, with dual 3.6” midbass drivers and an efficient tweeter. The other 4 satellite speakers use similar drive
units as the center channel, but with only a single midrange and tweeter compliment.
