ÒÅÕÍÈÊÀ ÁÅÇÎÏÀÑÍÎÑÒÈ
Ïîëüçîâàòåëè ñâàðî÷íîãî îáîðóäîâàíèÿ ESAB îòâå÷àþò çà âûïîëíåíèå ïðàâèë òåõíèêè
áåçîïàñíîñòè ëèöàìè, ðàáîòàþùèìè íà îáîðóäîâàíèè è ðÿäîì ñ íèì. Ïðàâèëà òåõíèêè
áåçîïàñíîñòè äîëæíû îòâå÷àòü òðåáîâàíèÿì ê áåçîïàñíîé ýêñïëóàòàöèè ñâàðî÷íîãî
îáîðóäîâàíèÿ ýòîãî òèïà. Ïîìèìî ñòàíäàðòíûõ ïðàâèë òåõíèêè áåçîïàñíîñòè è îõðàíû
òðóäà íà ðàáî÷åì ìåñòå ðåêîìåíäóåòñÿ ñëåäóþùåå.
Âñå ðàáîòû äîëæíû âûïîëíÿòüñÿ ïîäãîòîâëåííûìè ëèöàìè, çíàêîìûìè ñ ýêñïëóàòàöèåé
ñâàðî÷íîãî îáîðóäîâàíèÿ. Íåïðàâèëüíàÿ ýêñïëóàòàöèÿ îáîðóäîâàíèÿ ìîæåò âûçâàòü
îïàñíûì ñèòóàöèè, ïðèâîäÿùèå ê òðàâìèðîâàíèþ ïåðñîíàëà è ïîâðåæäåíèþ
îáîðóäîâàíèÿ.

4. Ñðåäñòâà çàùèòû ïåðñîíàëà
S Âî âñåõ ñëó÷àÿõ ðåêîìåíäóåòñÿ èñïîëüçîâàòü èíäèâèäóàëüíûå ñðåäñòâà çàùèòû,
íàïðèìåð, çàùèòíûå î÷êè, îãíåñòîéêóþ ñïåöîäåæäó è çàùèòíûå ðóêàâèöû.
S Ïðè ñâàðêå çàïðåùàåòñÿ íîñèòü ñâîáîäíóþ îäåæäó, óêðàøåíèÿ è ò.ä., íàïðèìåð,
øàðôû, áðàñëåòû, êîëüöà, êîòîðûå ìîãóò ïîïàñòü â ñâàðî÷íîå îáîðóäîâàíèå èëè
âûçâàòü îæîãè.
5. Îáùèå ìåðû ïðåäîñòîðîæíîñòè
S Ïðîâåðüòå íàäåæíîñòü ïîäêëþ÷åíèÿ îáðàòíîãî êàáåëÿ.
S Ðàáîòû íà îáîðóäîâàíèè ñ âûñîêèì íàïðÿæåíèåì äîëæíû ïðîèçâîäèòüñÿ
òîëüêî êâàëèôèöèðîâàííûì ýëåêòðèêîì.
S Â ïðåäåëàõ äîñòóïà äîëæíû íàõîäèòüñÿ ñîîòâåòñòâóþùèå ñðåäñòâà
ïîæàðîòóøåíèÿ, èìåþùèå ÿñíóþ ìàðêèðîâêó.
S Çàïðåùàåòñÿ ïðîâîäèòü ñìàçêó è òåõíè÷åñêîå îáñëóæèâàíèå îáîðóäîâàíèå âî
âðåìÿ ýêñïëóàòàöèè.

Âêëþ÷åíèå èñòî÷íèêà ïèòàíèÿ
Âêëþ÷èòå ïèòàíèå, ïîâåðíóâ âûêëþ÷àòåëü (8) â ïîëîæåíèå ”START” (ÏÓÑÊ).
Îòïóñòèòå âûêëþ÷àòåëü, è îí âåðíåòñÿ â ïîëîæåíèå ”1”.
Åñëè òðåáóåòñÿ âðåìåííî îòêëþ÷èòü ïèòàíèå â ïðîöåññå ñâàðêè, à çàòåì
âíîâü âêëþ÷èòü åãî, òî áëîê ïèòàíèÿ áóäåò îñòàâàòüñÿ îáåñòî÷åííûì äî òåõ
ïîð, ïîêà âûêëþ÷àòåëü ñíîâà íå áóäåò âðó÷íóþ ïîâåðíóò â ïîëîæåíèå
”START” (ÏÓÑÊ).
×òîáû âûêëþ÷èòü èñòî÷íèê ïèòàíèÿ, ïîâåðíèòå âûêëþ÷àòåëü â ïîëîæåíèå ”0”.
Ïîñëå øòàòíîãî îòêëþ÷åíèÿ ñåòåâîãî ïèòàíèÿ èëè áëîêà ïèòàíèÿ ïàðàìåòðû
ñâàðêè âîññòàíàâëèâàþòñÿ ïðè ïîñëåäóþùåì âêëþ÷åíèè áëîêà.
5.3
Óïðàâëåíèå âåíòèëÿòîðàìè
Èñòî÷íèê ïèòàíèÿ îñíàùåí òàéìåðîì, îáåñïå÷èâàþùèì ïðîäîëæåíèå ðàáîòû
âåíòèëÿòîðîâ â òå÷åíèå 6,5 ìèí ïîñëå ïðåêðàùåíèÿ ñâàðêè, è ïåðåêëþ÷åíèå
áëîêà â ðåæèì ýíåðãîñáåðåæåíèÿ. Ïðè âîçîáíîâëåíèè ñâàðêè âåíòèëÿòîðû
çàïóñêàþòñÿ âíîâü.
Âåíòèëÿòîðû ðàáîòàþò íà ïîíèæåííûõ îáîðîòàõ ïðè ñâàðî÷íûõ òîêàõ äî 144 A
è íà ïîëíûõ îáîðîòàõ ïðè áîëüøèõ òîêàõ.
5.4
Çàùèòà îò ïåðåãðåâà
Èñòî÷íèê ñâàðî÷íîãî òîêà èìååò óñòðîéñòâî çàùèòû îò ïåðåãðåâà,
ñðàáàòûâàþùåå, êîãäà òåìïåðàòóðà ñòàíîâèòñÿ ñëèøêîì âûñîêîé. Ïðè ýòîì
ïîäà÷à ñâàðî÷íîãî òîêà ïðåêðàùàåòñÿ è â ïåðåäíåé ÷àñòè èñòî÷íèêà ïèòàíèÿ
çàãîðàåòñÿ îðàíæåâàÿ èíäèêàòîðíàÿ ëàìïà. Êîãäà òåìïåðàòóðà ñíèçèòñÿ, ðåëå
çàùèòû îò ïåðåãðóçêè àâòîìàòè÷åñêè âîçâðàùàåòñÿ â èñõîäíîå ïîëîæåíèå.
5.5
Áëîê îõëàæäåíèÿ
Ïîäâîä âîäû
Áëîê îõëàæäåíèÿ îáîðóäîâàí ñèñòåìîé ïðîâåðêè ïîäñîåäèíåíèÿ âîäÿíûõ
øëàíãîâ ELP (ESAB Logic Pump = Ëîãè÷åñêèé Íàñîñ ESAB).
Äâóõïîçèöèîííûé âûêëþ÷àòåëü ýëåêòðîïèòàíèÿ äîëæåí íàõîäèòüñÿ â
ïîëîæåíèè ”0” (Off) ïðè ïîäñîåäèíåíèè ñâàðî÷íîãî èíñòðóìåíòà ñ âîäÿíûì
îõëàæäåíèåì.
Åñëè ïîäñîåäèíåí ñâàðî÷íûé èíñòðóìåíò ñ âîäÿíûì îõëàæäåíèåì, òî
ïðîèñõîäèò àâòîìàòè÷åñêèé çàïóñê âîäÿíîãî íàñîñà, êîãäà ãëàâíûé
äâóõïîçèöèîííûé âûêëþ÷àòåëü ïîâåðíóò â ïîëîæåíèå ”START” (ÏÓÑÊ) è
íà÷èíàåòñÿ ïðîöåññ ñâàðêè. Ïîñëå ïðåêðàùåíèÿ ñâàðêè íàñîñ ïðîäîëæàåò
ðàáîòàòü â òå÷åíèå 6,5 ìèí, à çàòåì ïåðåêëþ÷àåòñÿ â ðåæèì
ýíåðãîñáåðåæåíèÿ.
Çàùèòíîå óñòðîéñòâî ñ äàò÷èêîì ðàñõîäà âîäû
Çàùèòíîå óñòðîéñòâî ñ äàò÷èêîì ðàñõîäà âîäû áëîêèðóåò èñòî÷íèê ïèòàíèÿ,
åñëè ïîòîê îõëàæäàþùåé âîäû îñòàíàâëèâàåòñÿ. Ïðè ýòîì ïîäà÷à ñâàðî÷íîãî
òîêà ïðåêðàùàåòñÿ è íà áëîêå óïðàâëåíèÿ îòîáðàæàåòñÿ àâàðèéíûé ñèãíàë.

SAFETY
Users of ESAB welding equipment have the ultimate responsibility for ensuring that anyone who
works on or near the equipment observes all the relevant safety precautions. Safety precautions
must meet the requirements that apply to this type of welding equipment. The following recommendations should be observed in addition to the standard regulations that apply to the workplace.
All work must be carried out by trained personnel well--acquainted with the operation of the welding
equipment. Incorrect operation of the equipment may lead to hazardous situations which can result
in injury to the operator and damage to the equipment.

Anyone who uses the welding equipment must be familiar with:

S relevant safety precautions

The operator must ensure that:
S no unauthorized person is stationed within the working area of the equipment when it is
started up.
S no--one is unprotected when the arc is struck

S Always wear recommended personal safety equipment, such as safety glasses, flame--proof
clothing, safety gloves.
S Do not wear loose--fitting items, such as scarves, bracelets, rings, etc., which could become
trapped or cause burns.

S Make sure the return cable is connected securely.
S Work on high voltage equipment may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
S Appropriate fire extinquishing equipment must be clearly marked and close at hand.
S Lubrication and maintenance must not be carried out on the equipment during operation.

MechTig 4000i is a welding power source intended for mechanized welding.
The power source is intended for use with control unit MechControl 2 or
MechControl 4.
All settings are made from the control unit.

INSTALLATION

NOTE!
Connect the power source to the electricity mains with a network impedance of 0.200 ohm or lower. If
the network impedance is higher there is a risk of flicker in the illuminators.

Location
Position the welding power source such that its cooling air inlets and outlets are not
obstructed.
5.3
Mains power supply
Make sure that the welding power source is connected to the correct supply voltage
and that it is protected by the correct fuse rating. See rating plate with supply
connection data. A protective earth connection must be made in accordance with
regulations.

6.2
Turning on the power source
Turn on the mains power by turning switch (8) to the ”START” position. Release the
switch, and it will return to the ”1” position.
If the mains power supply should be interrupted while welding is in progress, and
then be restored, the power unit will remain de--energised until the switch is again
turned manually to the ”START” position.
Turn the unit off by turning the switch to the ”0” position.

Whether the mains power supply is interrupted or the power unit is switched off in
the normal manner, welding data will be stored so that it is available next time the
unit is started.
6.3
Fan control
The power source has a time control that means that the fans continue to run for 6.5
minutes after welding has stopped, and the unit switches to energy--saving mode.
The fans start again when welding restarts.
The fans run at reduced speed for welding currents up to 144 A, and at full speed for
higher currents.
6.4
Overheating protection
The welding power source has two thermal overload trips that operate if the
temperature becomes too high. When this occurs the welding current is interrupted
and the orange indicating lamp on the front of the power source comes on. The
thermal overload trip resets automatically when the temperature has fallen.
6.5
Cooling unit
Water connection
The cooling unit is equipped with a detection system ELP (ESAB Logic Pump) which
checks that the water hoses are connected.
The power source On/Off switch must be in the 0 position (Off) when connecting a
water--cooled welding tool.
If a water cooled welding tool is connected, the water pump automatically starts
when the main On/Off switch is turned to ”START” and when welding starts. After
welding, the water pump continues to run for 6.5 minutes, and then switches to the
energy--saving mode.
Water flow guard
The water flow guard blocks the power source if the cooling water stops. When this
occurs the welding current is interrupted and an alarm is shown on the control unit.

MAINTENANCE
”Regular maintenance is important for safe, reliable operation.”
Maintenance must be executed by a professional.
Only those persons who have appropriate electrical knowledge (authorized
personnel) may remove the safety plates.

attempts any work in the product during the guarantee period in order to rectify any

7.1
Welding power source
Check regularly that the welding power source is not clogged with dirt.
How often and which cleaning methods apply depend on:

welding process

arc time

placement
S surrounding environment
It is normally sufficient to blow down the power source with dry compressed air
(reduced pressure) once a year.
Clogged or blocked air inlets and outlets can cause overheating.
Cleaning the dust filter

Remove the fan grille with the dust
filter (1).

Swing out the grille (2).
S
Release the dust filter (3).
S
Blow the filter clean with compressed
air (reduced pressure).
S
Replace the filter with the finer mesh
on the side against the grille (2) (out
from the power source).

Replace the fan grille with the dust
filter.
Topping up the coolant
Top up with coolant to the level of the filling hole.
ESAB’s refrigerant is recommended for use. See
accessories on page 27.
CAUTION!
The coolant must be handled as chemical waste.
7.2
Tube welding tool
The tube welding tool’s wear parts should be cleaned and replaced at regular
intervals in order to achieve trouble--free welding.

MechTig 4000i is designed and tested in accordance with the international and European standards IEC/EN 60974--1, 60974--2, 60974--3 and EN 60974--10. It is the obligation
of the service unit which has carried out the service or repair work to make sure that
the product still conforms to the said standard.
Repair and electrical work should be performed by an authorized ESAB serviceman.
Use only ESAB original spare and wear parts.
Spare parts may be ordered through your nearest ESAB dealer, see the last page of
this publication.
