Îáùóþ èíôîðìàöèþ ïî ýêñïëóàòàöèè óñòðîéñòâà âû ìîæåòå íàéòè â
ðóêîâîäñòâå ïîëüçîâàòåëÿ íà èñòî÷íèê ïèòàíèÿ áëîêà ïîäà÷è ïðîâîëîêè.
Ïðè ïîäà÷å ñåòåâîãî ïèòàíèÿ íà óñòðîéñòâî íà÷èíàåòñÿ
ñàìîïðîâåðêà ñâåòîäèîäíûõ èíäèêàòîðîâ è äèñïëåÿ, ïðè
ýòîì íà äèñïëåå îòîáðàæàåòñÿ âåðñèÿ ïðîãðàììû, â äàííîì
ïðèìåðå ðàññìàòðèâàåòñÿ ïðîãðàììíàÿ âåðñèÿ 0.17A

2.2
Îáúÿñíåíèå ñèìâîëîâ è ôóíêöèé
Ñâàðêà MIG/MAG
Ïðè ñâàðêå MIG/MAG ïðîèñõîäèò ðàñïëàâëåíèå íåïðåðûâíî ïîäàâàåìîé
ïðèñàäî÷íîé ïðîâîëîêè, ïðè ýòîì ñâàðî÷íàÿ çîíà çàùèùåíà çàùèòíûì
ãàçîì.
Èíäóêòèâíîñòü
×åì âûøå èíäóêòèâíîñòü, òåì áîëüøå ðàçìåð çîíû ñâàðêè è ìåíüøå
ðàçáðûçãèâàíèå. Ïðè íèçêîé èíäóêòèâíîñòè ïîëó÷àþòñÿ áîëåå ðåçêèé çâóê è
áîëåå ñòàáèëüíàÿ ïëîòíàÿ äóãà.
Íàïðÿæåíèå
Ïðè áîëåå âûñîêîì íàïðÿæåíèè óâåëè÷èâàþòñÿ äëèíà äóãè, à òàêæå ðàçìåð è
òåìïåðàòóðà çîíû ñâàðêè.
Ñêîðîñòü ïîäà÷è ïðîâîëîêè
Ýòîò ïàðàìåòð îïðåäåëÿåò òðåáóåìóþ ñêîðîñòü ïîäà÷è ïðèñàäî÷íîé
ïðîâîëîêè â ì/ìèí.
2-øàãîâûé ðåæèì
Ïðè 2-øàãîâîì óïðàâëåíèè ïðåäâàðèòåëüíàÿ ïîäà÷à çàùèòíîãî ãàçà (åñëè
èñïîëüçóåòñÿ) íà÷èíàåòñÿ ïðè íàæàòèè ïóñêîâîãî âûêëþ÷àòåëÿ ñâàðî÷íîãî
ïèñòîëåòà. Ïðè ýòîì íà÷èíàåòñÿ ïðîöåññ ñâàðêè. Êîãäà ïóñêîâîé âûêëþ÷àòåëü
áóäåò îòïóùåí (4), ïðîöåññ ñâàðêè ïîëíîñòüþ ïðåêðàùàåòñÿ è íà÷èíàåòñÿ
çàêëþ÷èòåëüíàÿ ïîäà÷à çàùèòíîãî ãàçà (ïðè âêëþ÷åíèè ñîîòâåòñòâóþùåãî
ðåæèìà).

4-øàãîâûé ðåæèì
 4-øàãîâîì ðåæèìå ïðåäâàðèòåëüíàÿ ïîäà÷à ãàçà íà÷èíàåòñÿ, êîãäà
ïåðåêëþ÷àòåëü íàæèìàåòñÿ, à ïîäà÷à ïðîâîëîêè íà÷èíàåòñÿ ïîñëå åãî
îòïóñêàíèÿ. Ïðîöåññ ñâàðêè ïðîäîëæàåòñÿ äî òåõ ïîð, ïîêà ïåðåêëþ÷àòåëü
íå áóäåò ñíîâà íàæàò, ïîñëå ÷åãî ïîäà÷à ïðîâîëîêè îñòàíàâëèâàåòñÿ. Êîãäà
ïåðåêëþ÷àòåëü îòïóñêàåòñÿ, íà÷èíàåòñÿ çàêëþ÷èòåëüíàÿ ïîäà÷à ãàçà (ïðè
âêëþ÷åíèè ñîîòâåòñòâóþùåãî ðåæèìà).
Òî÷å÷íàÿ ñâàðêà
Âðåìÿ òî÷å÷íîé ñâàðêè
Òî÷å÷íàÿ ñâàðêà èñïîëüçóåòñÿ â òîì ñëó÷àå, êîãäà íóæíî âûïîëíèòü ñâàðêó
êîðîòêèìè ïîâòîðÿþùèìèñÿ ïðîõîäàìè ñ ïðåäâàðèòåëüíî çàäàííûì
âðåìåíåì.
Ïîäà÷à ãàçà äî âîçáóæäåíèÿ äóãè (åñëè èñïîëüçóåòñÿ) íà÷èíàåòñÿ ïðè
íàæàòèè ïóñêîâîãî âûêëþ÷àòåëÿ ñâàðî÷íîãî ïèñòîëåòà, ïîñëå ÷åãî íà÷èíàåòñÿ
ñâàðî÷íûé ïðîöåññ, êîòîðûé ïðîäîëæàåòñÿ â òå÷åíèå çàðàíåå óñòàíîâëåííîãî
âðåìåíè. Ïî çàâåðøåíèè ïðîöåññà ñâàðêè ïîäà÷à ãàçà ïðåêðàùàåòñÿ.
Ôóíêöèÿ Qt
Ôóíêöèÿ QSett , èñïîëüçóåòñÿ äëÿ òîãî, ÷òîáû óïðîñòèòü íàñòðîéêó
ïàðàìåòðîâ ñâàðêè.
S Ïðè âðàùåíèè ðó÷êè ïî ÷àñîâîé ñòðåëêå äëèíà äóãè óâåëè÷èâàåòñÿ (+).
S Ïðè âðàùåíèè ðó÷êè ïðîòèâ ÷àñîâîé ñòðåëêè äëèíà äóãè óìåíüøàåòñÿ (-).
ÊÎÐÎÒÊÀß ÄÓÃÀ
Ïðè âûïîëíåíèè ñâàðêè â ïåðâûé ðàç, ñ çàäàííûì òèïîì ïðîâîëîêè / òèïîì
ãàçà, ôóíêöèÿ QSettàâòîìàòè÷åñêè çàäàåò âñå íåîáõîäèìûå ïàðàìåòðû
ñâàðêè. Ïîñëå ýòîãî ôóíêöèÿ QSettñîõðàíÿåò âñå äàííûå, ñ òåì, ÷òîáû
ïîëó÷èòü êà÷åñòâåííûé ñâàðíîé øîâ. Ïðè ýòîì îáåñïå÷èâàåòñÿ
àâòîìàòè÷åñêàÿ êîððåêòèðîâêà íàïðÿæåíèÿ â ñîîòâåòñòâèè ñ èçìåíåíèÿìè
ñêîðîñòè ïîäà÷è ïðîâîëîêè.
Ïåðâàÿ ñâàðêà äîëæíà äëèòüñÿ íå ìåíåå 6 ñåêóíä, äëÿ òîãî, ÷òîáû îáåñïå÷èòü
ïðàâèëüíîñòü ïàðàìåòðîâ.
ÐÀÑÏÛËßÞÙÀß ÄÓÃÀ
Ïðè ïîäõîäå ê ó÷àñòêó ðàñïûëÿþùåé äóãè çíà÷åíèå ôóíêöèè QSett äîëæíî
áûòü óâåëè÷åíî.
Îòêëþ÷èòå ôóíêöèþ QSett ïðè ñâàðêå ñ ïîìîùüþ ÷èñòîé ðàñïûëÿþùåé
äóãè. Âñå íàñòðîéêè áåðóòñÿ èç ôóíêöèè QSett, çà èñêëþ÷åíèåì íàïðÿæåíèÿ,
âåëè÷èíó êîòîðîãî íóæíî çàäàòü.
Ðåêîìåíäàöèÿ: Âûïîëíèòå ïåðâûé ñâàðíîé øîâ (6 ñåêóíä) ñ èñïîëüçîâàíèåì
ôóíêöèè QSett íà ïðîáíîì îáðàçöå, ñ öåëüþ ïðîâåðêè ïðàâèëüíîñòè âñåõ
ïàðàìåòðîâ.
Ðó÷íîå
Ðàáîòà â ðó÷íîì ðåæèìå. Îïåðàòîð äîëæåí çàäàòü ñîîòâåòñòâóþùèå çíà÷åíèÿ
ñêîðîñòè ïîäà÷è ïðîâîëîêè è íàïðÿæåíèÿ.

Íàñòðîéêè äåëàþòñÿ ñ ïàíåëè óïðàâëåíèÿ.
Èçìåíåíèå äàííûõ ñïóñêîâîãî ìåõàíèçìà
Ýòà ôóíêöèÿ ïîçâîëÿåò ïåðåéòè îò îäíîãî íàáîðà ñîõðàíåííûõ ïàðàìåòðîâ
ñâàðêè ê äðóãîìó, ïóòåì äâîéíîãî íàæàòèÿ íà ñïóñêîâîé ìåõàíèçì
ñâàðî÷íîãî ïèñòîëåòà.
Ïðèìåíèìî òîëüêî äëÿ ñâàðêè ìåòîäîì MIG/MAG.
Áëîê äèñòàíöèîííîãî óïðàâëåíèÿ
Íàñòðîéêè äåëàþòñÿ ñ áëîêà äèñòàíöèîííîãî óïðàâëåíèÿ.
Ïåðåä ââîäîì â äåéñòâèå áëîê äèñòàíöèîííîãî óïðàâëåíèÿ äîëæåí áûòü
ïîäêëþ÷åí ê ðàçúåìó äëÿ áëîêà äèñòàíöèîííîãî óïðàâëåíèÿ, êîòîðûé
èìååòñÿ íà ìàøèíå. Ïîñëå ââîäà â äåéñòâèå áëîêà äèñòàíöèîííîãî
óïðàâëåíèÿ, ïàíåëü óïðàâëåíèÿ ñòàíîâèòñÿ íåàêòèâíîé.
Ïîñëå òîãî, êàê áóäåò àêòèâèçèðîâàíà ôóíêöèÿ áëîêà äèñòàíöèîííîãî
óïðàâëåíèÿ, ìîæíî ïåðåõîäèòü îò îäíîãî íàáîðà ñîõðàíåííûõ ïàðàìåòðîâ
ñâàðêè ê äðóãîìó, ñ ïîìîùüþ ñâàðî÷íîãî ïèñòîëåòà ñ ïåðåêëþ÷àòåëåì
âûáîðà ïðîãðàìì (RS3).
Ïðîäóâêà ãàçîì
Ïðîäóâêà ãàçîì ïðîèçâîäèòñÿ äëÿ èçìåðåíèÿ ðàñõîäà ãàçà, èëè äëÿ óäàëåíèÿ
âîçäóõà è âëàãè èç ãàçîâûõ øëàíãîâ ïåðåä íà÷àëîì ñâàðêè. Ïðîäóâêà ãàçîì
ïðîèçâîäèòñÿ äî òåõ ïîð, ïîêà áóäåò íàæàòà êíîïêà, è âûïîëíÿåòñÿ áåç
íàïðÿæåíèÿ è äî íà÷àëà ïîäà÷è ïðîâîëîêè.
Òîë÷êîâûé ðåæèì ïîäà÷è ïðîâîëîêè
Òîë÷êîâûé ðåæèì ïîäà÷è ïðîâîëîêè èñïîëüçóåòñÿ, êîãäà íóæíî îáåñïå÷èòü
ïîäà÷ó ïðîâîëîêè áåç ïîäà÷è ñâàðî÷íîãî íàïðÿæåíèÿ. Ïîäà÷à ïðîâîëîêè
ïðîèçâîäèòñÿ äî òåõ ïîð, ïîêà áóäåò íàæàòà êíîïêà.
2.3
Ñêðûòûå ôóíêöèè MIG/MAG
Íà ïàíåëè óïðàâëåíèÿ èìåþòñÿ ñêðûòûå ôóíêöèè.
Äëÿ òîãî, ÷òîáû ïîëó÷èòü äîñòóï ê ýòèì ñêðûòûì ôóíêöèÿì, íàæìèòå êíîïêó
è óäåðæèâàéòå åå â òàêîì ïîëîæåíèè â òå÷åíèå 5 ñåêóíä
. Íà äèñïëåå
ïîÿâèòñÿ áóêâà è ÷èñëåííîå çíà÷åíèå. Ðó÷êà äëÿ ïîäà÷è ïðîâîëîêè
èñïîëüçóåòñÿ äëÿ èçìåíåíèÿ ÷èñëåííîãî çíà÷åíèÿ âûáðàííîé ôóíêöèè.

INTRODUCTION
The manual describes use of MA23 and MA23A control panels.
For general information about operation see user’s instructions for the power source
respectively wire feed unit.
When mains power is supplied the unit runs a self diagnosis of the
LEDs and the display, the program version is displayed and in this
example the program version is 0.17A

2.2
Symbol and Function explanations
MIG/MAG welding
MIG/MAG welding melts a continuously supplied filler wire, with the weld pool being protected by shielding gas.

Inductance
Higher inductance results in a wider weld pool and less spatter. Lower inductance
produces a harsher sound but a stable, concentrated arc.
Voltage
Higher voltage increases the arc length and produces a hotter, wider weld pool.
Wire feed speed
This sets the required feed speed of the filler wire in m/minute.
2 stroke
With 2--stroke gas pre--flow (if used) starts when the welding gun trigger switch is
pressed. The welding process then starts. Releasing the trigger switch stops welding
entirely and starts gas post--flow (if selected).
4 stroke
With 4 stroke, the gas pre--flow starts when the welding gun trigger switch is
pressed in and the wire feed starts when it is released. The welding process
continues until the switch is pressed in again, the wire feed then stops and when the
switch is released the gas post--flow starts (if selected).
Spot--welding
Spot--welding time
Spot--welding is used when one needs to weld with short repeated occasions at a
preset time.
Gas pre--flow (if used) starts when the welding gun trigger switch is pressed, the
welding process then starts which lasts for a preset time. When the welding process
is finished the gas flow stops.
QSett
QSett , is used to facilitate setting welding parameters.
S Turning the knob clockwise increases (+) the arc length.
S Turning the knob anti--clockwise reduces (--) the arc length.
SHORT ARC
When first starting welding with a wire type / gas type QSettautomatically sets all
the necessary welding parameters. After that QSettstores all the data to produce a
good weld. The voltage then automatically conforms to changes in the wire feed
speed.
The first weld must last for at least 6 seconds for the parameters to be correct.
SPRAY ARC
When approaching the spray arc area the value for QSett must be increased.
Disengage the QSett function when welding with pure spray arc, All settings are
inherited from QSett, with the exception of the voltage which must be set.
Recommendation: Make the first weld (6 seconds) with QSett on a test piece to
obtain all the correct data.

Manual
Manual operation. The operator must set appropriate values for the wire feed and
voltage.
Active panel
Settings are made from the control panel.
Changing trigger data
This function permits changing between different welding data memories by a double
press on the trigger of the welding gun.
Only applies for MIG/MAG welding.
Remote control unit
Settings are made from the remote control unit.
The remote control unit must be connected to the remote control unit socket on the
machine before activation. When the remote control unit is activated the panel is
inactive.
With the remote control unit function activated one can change between different
welding data memories using a welding gun with program selector (RS3).
Gas flushing
Gas flushing is used when measuring the gas flow or to flush any air or moisture
from the gas hoses before welding starts. Gas flushing occurs for as long as the
button is held depressed and occurs without voltage or wire feed starting.
Wire inching
Wire inching is used when one needs to feed wire without welding voltage being
applied. The wire is fed as long as the button is depressed.

Hidden MIG/MAG functions
There are hidden functions in the control panel.
To access these hidden functions hold the button
depressed for 5 seconds. The
display will show a letter and a value. The knob for wire feed is used to change the
value of the selected function.

Gas pre--flow
This controls the time during which shielding gas flows before the arc is struck.
Burnback time
Burnback time is a delay between the time when the wire starts to brake until the
time when the power source switches off the welding voltage. Too short burnback
time results in a long wire stickout after completion of welding, with a risk of the wire
being caught in the solidifying weld pool. Too long a burnback time results in a
shorter stickout, with increased risk of the arc striking back to the contact tip.
Creep start
Creep starting feeds out the wire at 50% of the set speed until it makes electrical
contact with the workpiece.
Gas post--flow
This controls the time during which shielding gas flows after the arc is extinguished.

MMA welding
MMA welding may also be referred to as welding with coated electrodes. Striking the
arc melts the electrode, and its coating forms protective slag.

Arc Force
The arc force is important in determining how the current changes in response to a
change in the arc length. A lower value gives a calmer arc with less spatter.
Drop welding
Drop welding can be used when welding with stainless electrodes. The function
involves alternately striking and extinguishing the arc in order to achieve better
control of the supply of heat. The electrode needs only to be raised slightly to
extinguish the arc.
Hot Start
Hot start increases the weld current for an adjustable time at the start of welding,
thus reducing the risk of poor fusion at the beginning of the joint.
Welding regulator ArcPlust
Welding regulator ArcPlust is a new type of control that produces a more intense,
more concentrated and calmer arc. It recovers more quickly after a spot
short--circuit, which reduces the risk of the electrode becoming stuck. Most welding
applications obtain the best results with ArcPlust ON (0).

WELDING DATA MEMORY
Three different welding data programs can be stored in the control panel memory.

to flash.

The welding data memory has a back--up battery so that the settings remain even if
the machine has been switched off.

FAULT CODES
Fault codes are used to indicate that a fault has occurred in the
equipment. They are given in the lower part of the display with an
E followed by a fault code number.
A unit number is displayed to indicate which unit has generated the
fault.
Fault code numbers and unit numbers are shown alternately.
Fault indication indicates that the control panel (U 0) has lost
contact with the power source.
If several faults have been detected only the code for the last
occurring fault is displayed. Press any function button or turn any
knob to remove the fault indication from the display.

Fault code descriptions
Description
5 V power supply low
The power supply voltage is too low.
The current welding process is stopped and starting is prevented.
Action: Turn off the mains power supply to reset the unit. If the fault persists, send for a
service technician.
Intermediate DC voltage outside limits
The mains power supply is too high or too low. Too high a voltage can be due to severe
transients on the mains power supply or to a weak power supply (high inductance of the
mains power supply or a phase missing).
Action: Send for a service technician.
High temperature
The thermal overload cut--out has tripped.
The current welding process is stopped and cannot be restarted until the temperature has
fallen.
Action: Check that the cooling air inlets or outlets are not blocked or clogged with dirt.
Check the duty cycle being used, to make sure that the equipment is not being overloaded.
Wire speed servo
Wire speed servo deviates from the set value.
When the fault occurs the wire feed stops.
Action: Send for a service technician.
Communication error (warning)
The load on the system’s CAN--bus is temporarily too high.
The power unit / wire feed unit has lost contact with the control panel.
Action: Check the equipment and ensure that only one wire feed unit or remote control
unit is installed. If the fault persists, send for a service technician.
High open--circuit voltage
Open circuit voltage has been too high.
Action: Turn off the mains power supply to reset the unit. If the fault persists, send for a
service technician.
Lost contact
The control panel has lost contact with the wire feed unit.
The current welding process stops.
Action: Check the cables. If the fault persists, send for a service technician.

Out of wire
The wire feed unit is not feeding out any wire. The current welding process will be stopped
and prevents welding start.
Action: Load a new wire.
No cooling water flow
The flow monitor switch has tripped.
The current welding process is stopped and starting is prevented.
Action: Check the cooling water circuit and the pump.
No gas flow
The gas flow is less than 6 l/min. Start prevented.
Action: Check the gas valve, hoses and connectors.
Incompatible units
Incorrect wire feed unit is connected. Start is prevented
Action: Connect the correct wire feed unit.
Lost contact with the cooling unit
The control panel has lost contact with the cooling unit. Switch off the power source!
Action: Check the wiring. If the fault persists, send for a service technician.
