® An OMEGA Technologies Company OM-EL-1 PANEL MOUNT DATALOGGER INSTRUCTION SHEET M-3139 OM-EL-1 measures, displays, records and controls temperature, humidity, pH, voltage, current, etc., with a memory for 8064 readings and a battery life of up to 3 years**. OM-EL-1 can operate as a 'stand alone' logger or be permanently connected to a system. The OM-EL-1 serial link is addressable and up to 8 loggers can be connected to one serial port. The PC software operates under Windows 3.1 and does not require specialist skill to operate. Data output is in text format and can be easily integrated into any popular spreadsheet. Graphical output is possible under OM-EL-WIN. Consult the EasyLog software manual for further details. Battery Powered Multi-function °C Non-volatile Data Storage Panel Mounting Easy to Use Cold Junction Compensation For Thermocouple Temperature Sensing Windows 3.1 Control Software Model No - OM-EL-WIN Easy to install and use, the control software will enable the user to control one or more EasyLogs and operate them as a complete system. Supplied on a 3½" disk with a manual and serial link. OM-EL-WIN will run under Windows 95. Accessories - Cables Model No Data Logger OM-EL-1 Specification Range Extension connector to 'daisy chain' more than one EasyLog. One extension will be needed for each extra logger. * Sensor dependent. ** Battery life dependent on input mode and sample rate. E.g. Rate Count, 5 sec. sample rate. The range should be selected in the OM-EL-WIN software. VOLTAGE* D.C. voltage within the ranges of 0-2V or 0-20V can be connected directly to the OM-EL-1. Ensure the appropriate range has been selected in advance within the OM-EL-WIN software. For higher voltage measurement an external potential divider network should be added. TEMPERATURE (internal) No sensor needed. The OM-EL-1 uses its internal temperature A sensor. Ensure A to B is B SHORTED. pH (with internal reference) Connect a pH probe that has an internal reference cell directly to the OM-EL-1. (refer to the probe's instruction manual). NOTES 1. There is no need to open Link 2 if the SENTEK P14 probe is used. 2. OPEN LINK 2 + A B A B SENSOR 1Ω 6watt + 0-2A D.C. A B 0V CURRENT* D.C. current can be measured up to 2A maximum by using an external 1Ω 6watt shunt across the input. Select the voltage '0-2V range' in OM-EL-WIN software and 'A' in the display symbols. HUMIDITY A capacitive humidity sensor can be connected directly to the EasyLog. NOTE 1. There is no RH annunciator on the LCD. Sensor range - 200 to 300pF 0.5 to 1.0pF per %RH 0 - 5V 0 RATE COUNT* OM-EL-1 counts the number of pulses on the input during the sample interval (e.g.: every 5s, 10s, 20s etc.). At the end of each sample interval, the count number is stored and the counter is reset to zero. A pulsed input of 0-5V can be directly connected to the OM-EL-1. The counter is incremented on the falling edge. *NOTES 1. When using the serial link, ensure that all signals are isolated from the computer ground. 2. When using several loggers together, ensure all signals are isolated or use the same ground. omega.com WARRANTY/DISCLAIMER TM ® OMEGAnet On-Line Service http://www.omega.com Internet e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org SM Servicing North America: USA: One Omega Drive, Box 4047 ISO 9001 Certified Stamford, CT 06907-0047 Tel: (203) 359-1660 e-mail: email@example.com Canada: 976 Bergar Laval (Quebec) H7L 5A1 Tel: (514) 856-6928 e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org FAX: (203) 359-7700 FAX: (514) 856-6886 For immediate technical or application assistance: USA and Canada: Mexico and Latin America: SM Sales Service: 1-800-826-6342 / 1-800-TC-OMEGA SM Customer Service: 1-800-622-2378 / 1-800-622-BEST SM Engineering Service: 1-800-872-9436 / 1-800-USA-WHEN TELEX: 996404 EASYLINK: 62968934 CABLE: OMEGA SM Tel: (95) 800-TC-OMEGA FAX: (95) 203-359-7807 En Español: (203) 359-1660 ext:2203 e-mail: email@example.com Servicing Europe: Benelux: Postbus 8034, 1180 LA Amstelveen, The Netherlands Tel: (31) 20 6418405 FAX: (31) 20 6434643 Toll Free in Benelux: 06 0993344 e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org Czech Republic: Ostravska 767, 733 01 Karvina Tel: 42 (69) 6311899 FAX: 42 (69) 6311114 e-mail: email@example.com France: 9, rue Denis Papin, 78190 Trappes Tel: (33) 130-621-400 FAX: (33) 130-699-120 Toll Free in France: 0800-4-06342 e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org Germany/Austria: Daimlerstrasse 26, D-75392 Deckenpfronn, Germany Tel: 49 (07056) 3017 FAX: 49 (07056) 8540 Toll Free in Germany: 0130 11 21 66 e-mail: email@example.com United Kingdom: 25 Swannington Road, PO Box 7, Omega Drive, Irlam, Manchester, ISO 9002 Certified Broughton Astley, Leicestershire, LE9 6TU, England M44 5EX, England Tel: 44 (1455) 285520 Tel: 44 (161) 777-6611 FAX: 44 (1455) 283912 FAX: 44 (161) 777-6622 Toll Free in England: 0800-488-488 e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org OMEGA ENGINEERING, INC. warrants this unit to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 13 months from date of purchase.
