batteries are removed from the battery compartment.

Fitting the batteries
Push down on the arrow head under the OPEN
mark on the top of the battery compartment and
slide the battery compartment cover off the CD
Boombox.
Insert the eight type C batteries following
the directions in the bottom of the battery
compartment.
Ensure the + & – on the batteries are correctly
aligned with the + & – marks in the battery
compartment.
Slide the battery compartment cover back over
the battery compartment until the three tabs at
the top lock in place.

You’ll be up and running in no time
Auxiliary connection
Using a 3.5mm audio input connection cable (not included), allows for a quick and easy
connection to an external sound source.
1. Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio connection cable to the headphone or auxiliary
out socket of your secondary device, connect the other end to the Line in socket on
the back of your Boombox.
2. Slide the Power/Mode switch on the back of the Boombox to CD/Line in.
3. Press the Play button on your external device to start playback through the Boombox
speakers.
4. To gain optimal volume levels, adjust the volume level on both the secondary device
and on the Boombox.
Note: It is recommended that you unplug the audio cable from the Line in socket after
you have finished listening to your external device, as the CD player cannot be used
whilst an audio cable is connected. Please wait for approximately 15 seconds after
unplugging the audio cable, for the Boombox to return to CD mode.

Setting up your CD Boombox

Using mains power
Plug the power cord into the power socket in the
back of the CD Boombox.
Insert the plug on the other end of the power
cord into a mains socket and turn the power on if
needed.
Important: The mains plug is used as the main
disconnect device and must remain accessible
when in use.
Slide the FUNCTION switch to either the CD, FM
or AM depending on what feature you want to
use.
Slide the mode switch to the OFF position to
turn your CD Boombox off.

Using the Radio
Lift the aerial on the back of the CD Boombox
upwards.
You will need to fully extend the aerial to get the
best reception.
You can rotate the aerial to help to improve radio
reception.
Slide the FUNCTION switch on the side of the
CD Boombox to either FM or AM depending on
the radio station you want to listen to.

Tune the radio by turning the TUNING dial on
the side of the CD Boombox to the correct
frequency.
You can adjust the volume by turning the volume
dial, on the opposite side of the CD Boombox
clockwise to increase or anti-clockwise to
decrease.
Slide the FUNCTION switch on the side of the
CD Boombox to the OFF position when you
have finished listening to the radio on your CD
Boombox.

Using the CD player
Slide the FUNCTION switch on the side of the
CD Boombox to CD.
The ‘– –” lights on the LCD display will flash if no
CD is inserted then turn to ‘no’.
Important: This CD player can play
standard CD’s but also CD-R CD-MP3 and
CD Rewritable discs.
Do not attempt to play CD-ROM, CDI, VCD,
DVD or other computer program/game CD’s.
Place your finger or thumb into the CD opening
slot on the top CD Boombox.
Lift the CD door upwards until fully open.
Place the CD in the CD player with the label
facing upwards.
Align the hole in the middle of the CD with the
post in the middle of the CD player and push
down until the CD locks over the centre post.

Push the CD lid down to close the top of the CD
player.
The CD should start loading automatically, if this
does not happen press the PLAY / PAUSE button
on the control panel.
Once the CD has loaded the LCD display will
show the number of tracks on the CD.
POWER

STOP: Press and release to stop
playback.
BACK: Press and release to skip
backwards through the tracks on the
CD.
PROG: Use this button to select the
order you want the tracks on the
inserted CD to be played in.
PLAY / PAUSE: Press and release to
play the selected track. Press and
release again to pause the CD.
NEXT: Press and release to skip
forwards through the tracks on the
CD.
REP: Use this button to repeat the
track you are listening to, all the tracks
on the CD or no repeat.

Using the REPEAT function
You can use the repeat function to repeat a single track or the whole CD.
1. Press the REP button once and release to repeat the track you are listening
to.
2. Press and release the REP button again to repeat the whole CD.
3. Press and release the REP button again to turn the repeat function off. The
repeat screen will not be shown when this function is selected.
Using the PROGRAM function
You can select the order you want 20 tracks from your CD to be played in using
the PROG button.
1. Ensure the CD has stopped by pressing the STOP button.
2. Press the PROG button once,

3. Use the BACK or NEXT buttons to select the track you want to be played
first.
4. Press the PROG button again and
. will be shown in the LCD display.
5. Use the BACK or NEXT buttons to select the second track you want to be
played.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you have stored all of the tracks you want to listen
to. Note: Press the PROG button again to confirm selection.
7. Press the PLAY button to listen to the programmed tracks
8. To close the PROG function press the STOP button and the CD player will
return to normal playback. After the all of the songs in the program have
played the program will be cancelled
Note: You can also use the repeat function when using the program function.
Press the REP button once to repeat the track playing or twice to repeat all
songs in the program. Press the REP button three time to cancel.

Using AUX IN with the CD Boombox
You can fit AUX IN with a 3.5mm stereo jack
connection to your CD Boombox.
Plug the 3.5mm jack on the AUX IN into the
socket on the side of the CD Boombox.
Turn the radio or CD player on, ensuring the
volume is turned down to minimum setting. Turn
the volume up slowly to prevent damaging your
hearing.
Important: Avoid extended play at very high volumes as this may impair your
hearing. If you experience ringing in your ears, reduce the volume or shut off
the unit. Keep the volume to a reasonable level as this can block outside sound.
Using the carrying handle
Your CD Boombox has a built in carrying handle
that can be lifted up from the back of the CD
Boombox so you can carry it around. The handle
can then be folded back down back into the top
of the CD Boombox when in use.

Troubleshooting
CD does not play
•
Check that you are in CD mode. If you are not already in CD mode, slide the switch
on the back of the Boombox to CD/Line in.
•
If you have an audio cable plugged into the Line in socket on the Boombox, you
must unplug this before you can use the CD player. After unplugging the audio
cable, please wait for approximately 15 seconds for the Boombox to return to CD
mode.
•
Take out the CD and check that it is not marked or scratched. Damaged CDs
cannot be played in the Boombox or may skip or not rotate correctly in the CD
compartment.
•
Please check that you are using an original audio CD and not a copy. Often copied
CDs will not play.
The function buttons do not respond.
•
Check that mains power wall socket is switched on.
•
Slide the switch on the back of the Boombox to the mode you would like to use. The
red power LED to the left of the display will switch on.
•
Check that you are trying to use the function buttons for the mode that you are in.
•
If you are using batteries, they may be exhausted and need to be replaced.
•
If you are using mains power, unplug the mains power. Leave the Boombox for 3
minutes and then reconnect the power.
Radio reception is poor.
•
Check that you have extended the wire radio aerial in a vertical position. .
•
Move the tuning wheel slowly to tune to each radio station.
•
Check there are no other electrical appliances within 1 metre of your Boombox,
which may be causing interference.
•
Try moving your Boombox to another location.
