ALARM SIGNAL MODULE V-1018B
Description
The TOA Alarm Signal Module V-1018B can generate two types of chime signals and one alarm signal in
conjunction with the Mixer Frame V-1000B or the VM Series Mixer-Power Amplifier.
An individual activation input and busy output are provided for the chime signals. Eight different chime tones
are made available, which can be selected by the DIP switch setting on the p.c. board. Its sounding speed can
also be selected from four tempos with the DIP switch. -
An independent activation input and busy output are provided for the alarm signal. Eight alarm signals are
made available, which can be selected with the DIP switch. The alarm duration can be set for either "1-minute
automatic stop” or “Continuous” using the slide switch on the p.c. board. A one-shot making pulse input to
stop all signal activation is provided. Chime-1, Chime-2, and Alarm have independent red LEDs. Also
provided is a green speech LED.
Activation input priority order : (1) STOP INPUT (2) ALARM (3) CHIME-1 (4) CHIME-2
For the output level adjustment, one common output control is used for both CHIME-1 and CHIME-2; a
separate volume control is provided for Alarm. They can be adjusted at the front panel using a screwdriver.

Switch Functions (SWITCH-1~SWITCH-3)
Switch-1 sets the alarm duration.
If Switch-1 is set as shown in Fig. 1, the alarm tone automatically stops
1 MIN. — after approximately one minute. The alarm signal is activated by one-shot
making pulse. Continuosly closing the alarm signal input continuously
CONT — sounds the alarm tone. The ringing tone stops if the alarm signal input is
opened. (If the alarm signal input is opened, the ringing tone does not stop
immediately, but automatically stops within approximately one minute.) If
Flg. 1 the stop input is closed, the ringing tone immediately stops .
1 MIN. — If Switch-1 is set as shown in Fig. 2, the alarm tone continuously sounds. If
the stop input is closed, the ringing tone immediately stops .

Modification for operating Chime-2 of the V-1018B Alarm Signal Module
Modification of the V-1018B
Assign the card-edge connector's pattern No.9 to the Chime-2 activation input, and pattern No.10 to the
indication output.
(1) Cut the pattern as shown in Fig. 3.
Cut between card-edge connector's
patterns No.9 and No.10.
(2) Connect point A to pattern No.9 via a lead wire. Similarly, connect point B to pattern No.10.
