SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WHILE OPERATING
BEFORE OPERATING
1. Read and understand the contents of this
manual before starting and operating this
machine. Become familiar with all controls and
know how to stop quickly. A free replacement
manual is available by sending complete Model
and Serial Number to:

2. Do not allow children to operate the machine.
Do not allow adults to operate the machine without
proper instruction.
3. Never operate the machine while under the
influence of drugs or aicohol.
4. Keep all shields and safety devices in place. If
a shield, safety device ordecal becomes damaged,
malfunctioning or illegible, repair or replace it
before operation is commenced. Also tighten
loose nuts, bolts to ensure machine is in safe
operating condition. This includes all shields on
the PTO.
5. Before each use, be sure all bolts and nuts are
tight; Check the general condition of the PTO.

machine is running.

7. Using the machine demands attention, and to
prevent loss of control:
A. Operate only in daylight or when there is
good artificial light.
B. Drive slowly.
C. Watch for holes or gther hidden hazards.
D. Do not drive close to a sand trap, ditch,
creek or other hazards.
E. Reduce speed when making sharp turns
and when turning on a hillside.
F. Avoid sudden stops and starts.

8. Operator must be skilled and trained in how to
drive on hillsides. Failure to use caution on slopes
or hills may cause loss of control possibly resulting
in personal injury or death.
9. If engine stalls or machine loses headway and
cannot make it to the top of a slope, do not turn
machine around. Always back slowly straight
down the slope.
10. Do not cary passengers on the machine or
Groundsmaster” and keep everyone away from
the areas of operation.
11. ALWAYS follow all safety precautions in the
Groundsmaster operators manual pertaining to
attachments.
MAINTENANCE
12. Remove the key from the ignition switch to
prevent accidental starting of the engine when
servicing, adjusting or storing the machine.
13. If major repairs are ever needed or assistance
desired, contact an Authorized TORO Distributor.
14. Make sure machine is in safe operating condi-
tion by keeping nuts, bolts and screws tight.

GROUNDSMASTERS (Flg. 1)
A WARNING
« Left hand push arm on Groundsmaster is
spring loaded.
+ Sudden release of the push arm could
cause serious personal injury.
+ Keep hands and face away from arm when
it is held and blocked in the downward
position.
* Use a helper and a wooden block to hold
push arm down during installation of
accessory.
1. Remove cutting unit or other attachment from
Groundsmaster. Refer to cutting unit or attach-
ment operators manual.
2. Attach the Deflector Handle on the blower hous-
ing using the 1/2" x 8-3/4" bolt.
3. Aftach the linkage rod to the top hole in the
Deflector Handle. Secure with flat washers and a
1/8" x 1" cotter pin.
4. Position the Groundsmaster to the rear of the
blower.
5. Attach the Upper Support Brackets (A) to the
center lift arm. Secure with 3/8" x 1-1/2" bolts.
6. Have a helper push down on the left push arm;
then insert a 2" x 4" biock of wood between the
frame and the top of the push arm.
7. Pull down the right push arm until it is level with
the left push arm. Try to keep both arms level as
possible for easier installation.
8. Line up the left lift arm with the lower lift arm
bracket (B). Fasten with 3/8" x 1-1/2" bolts and
leave the bolts finger tight.
9. Line up the right lift arm with the bracket on the
blower housing (C). Fasten with 7/16" x 1-1/2"
bolts and leave the bolts finger tight.
10. Secure the bolts on the left lift arm.
11. Secure the bolts on the right lift arm.
12. Have a helper push down the left push arm;
then remove the 2" x 4" blocks of wood.

13. Have a helper push down the right push arm;
then remove the 2" x 4" biocks of wood.
14. Attach the PTO of the Groundsmaster to the
PTO Adapter on the blower fan shaft.
15. Using the lift mechanism on the
Groundsmaster, lower the unit on a level surface.
16. Practice raising and lowering the blower.
NOTE: When mounting the blower to a 300 Series
Groundsmaster with the 88" Triflex mowing deck,
the hydraulic line support on the Groundsmaster
needs to be replaced. Failure to do so will result in
the PTO hitting the bracket, causing damage to the
PTO. To replace, follow the instructions below.
A. Remove the existing bracket. Disconnect
hoses from the bracket and temporarily
from the valve banks.
B. Install the Hydraulic Bracket (part number
67-005-2371)(Fig. 2) in the same location
with existing hardware.
NOTE: This Bracket

C. Beginning with the top hose, reconnect the
hoses to the new bracket. Fasten with the
existing snap rings. Connect the hoses
back to original positions on the valve.
D. Start unit, then raise and lower the blower
to check for clearance.

ATTACH BLOWER TO 200 SERIES
GROUNDSMASTERS
1. Hemove the cutting unit or other attachment
from the Groundsmaster. Refer to cutting unit or
attachment operator's manual.
2. Attach the Deflector Handle on the blower hous-
ing using the 1/2" x 8-3/4" bolt.
3. Attach the linkage rod to the top hole in the
Deflector Handle. Secure with flat washers and a
1/8" x 1" cotter pin.
4, Position the Groundsmaster to the rear side of
the blower.
5. Slowly push the blower toward the
Groundsmaster allowing the PTO halves to slide
together.
GROUNDSMASTER 220 & 224 (Fig. 3)
1. Attach the support bracket (A) to the left side of
the steering column housing using existing holes.
Secure with 1/4" x 1"bolts.
2. Attach the lower support arm (B) to the front rail
of the Groundsmaster. Secure with 3/8" x 1-1/2"
bolts.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Start the Groundsmaster and run at a low RPM.
2. Lower the blower using the Groundsmaster lift
mechanism.
3. Engage the PTO while the engine is at idle
speed.
4. Increase the PTO speed to 1800 RPM.
5. Practice blowing material. Itis advisable to blow
the same direction the wind is blowing to prevent
material from blowing back into the cleared area.
TRANSPORTING BLOWER
1. Reduce the engine speed to idle position.
2. Disengage the PTO and wait for the PTO
to stop.
3. Raise the blower to transport position.
LUBRICATION
BEARINGS (Fig. 7)
The blower has two self sealing bearings that must
be tubricated with a No. 2 Lithium based grease.
IMPORTANT: Lubricate the bearlngs as often
as necessary to maintaln a silght leakage on
the seals. Too much grease can cause over-

Under normal conditions, grease the wheels and
the wheel pivot tubes every 50 hours of use. Use
a No, 2 Lithium based grease.

STORAGE
1. Thoroughly clean the blower. The fan housing
should be free of dirt, leaves and debris.
2. Lubricate ali grease fittings. Wipe off any ex-
cess lubricant.
3. Place a light coat of grease on the splines of the
PTO adapter.
4. Tighten all fasteners.
IDENTIFICATION AND ORDERING
MODEL AND SERIAL NUMBER.
The BLOWER 2670 has two identification num-
bers: a model number and serial number. The two
numbers are stamped on a plate which is located
on the housing. In any correspondence concern-
ing the BLOWER 2670, supply model and serial
numbers to be sure that the correctinformation and
replacement parts are obtained.

To order replacement parts from an authorized
TORO Distributor, supply the following information:
1. Model and serial numbers of the machine.
2. Part number, description and quantity of parts
desired.
Note: Do not order by reference number if a parts
catalog is being used; use the part number.

on walk rotary mowers with cutting widths of less than 25".

on The Toro Promise, the following procedure is
recommended:
1. Contact your Authorized TORQ Distributor or
Commercial Dealer (the Yellow Pages of your
telephone directory is a good reference source).
2. The TORO Distributor or Commercial Dealer will
advise you on the arrangements that can be made
to inspect and repair your product.
3. The TORO Distributor or Commercial Dealer will
inspect the product and advise you whether the
product is defective and, i so, make all repairs
necassary to correct the defect without an extra
charge to you.

analysis of the defect ar the service performed, you may
contact us.

an Authorized TORQ Distributor or Commercial Dealer is
the purchaser's sole remedy for any defect.

IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND
FITNESS FOR USE ARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION
OF THE EXPRESS WARRANTY.
Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied
warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
This Warranty applies only to parts or components
which are defective and does not cover repairs
necessary due to normal wear, misuse, accidents, or
lack of proper maintenance. Regular, routine
maintenance of the unit to keep it in proper condition
is the responsibility of the owner.
All warranty repairs reimbursable under the Toro
Promise must be performed by an Authorized TORO
Commercial Dealer or Distributor using Toro
approved replacement parts.
Repairs or attempted repairs by anyone other than
an Authorized TORO Distributor or Commercial
Dealer are not reimbursable under the Taro Promise.
In addition, these unauthorized repair attempts may
rasult in additional malfunctions, the correction of
which is not covered by warranty.
THE TORO COMPANY IS NOT LIABLE FOR
INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL
DAMAGES IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OF
THE PRODUCT INCLUDING ANY COST OR
EXPENSE OF PROVIDING SUBSTITUTE
EQUIPMENT OR SERVICE DURING PERIODS
OF MALFUNCTION OR NON-USE.
