Prior to Installation

Observe all local plumbing and building codes before you begin installation.
The finished wall and tub/shower valve (4020B or 4020B-D) must be in stalled prior to installing this trim.

Shut off main water supply.

Caution : (1). These products may cause personal injury due to scalding if the temperature is set too high. We recommend that temperature is set below
120 ° F (49 ° C).

Remove the temporary nipple.
IPS Installation:-
The 1/2” threaded pipe nipple must be kept with a length of 1-3/8” from finished wall.
For tub spout(A) with tub spout escutcheon(B) slide the spout escutcheon(B) along the threaded pipe nipple. Apply teflon tape at the threaded connection. Screw tub spout(A) onto the pipe nipple and tighten by strap wrench.
CXC Installation :-
Use CXC to 1/2” IPS adapter (X-5400009) and Mounting Tool
(X-5400010) to install the tub spout for 1/2” copper tubing inlet. Please note X-5400009 and X-5400010 need to be purchased separately.

Remove the temporary nipple.
IPS Installation:-
Note:- The 1/2” threaded pipe nipple must be kept with a length of
7/16” from finished wall.
Apply teflon tape at the threaded connection. Screw diverter tub spout(C) onto the pipe nipple and tighten by strap wrench.
CXC Installation :-
Use CXC to 1/2” IPS adapter (X-5400008) and Mounting Tool
(X-5400010) to install the tub spout for 1/2” copper tubing inlet. Please note X-5400008 and X-5400010 need to be purchased separately.

Caution:- To avoid plugging the showerhead spray outlet use teflon tape on the shower arm threads.
Remove temporary nipple from the shower elbow.
Use silicon to caulk the back of the shower arm flange(D).
Slide the shower arm flange(D) over the shower arm(E).
Apply the teflon tape on the both threaded ends of shower arm (E) and install the shower arm(E) to the shower elbow.
Carefully tighten with a clean strap wrench.
Press the shower arm flange(D) against the finished wall.
Turn on main water supply to flush out the system for one minute, then turn off main water supply.
Thread the showerhead(F) to the shower arm(E).

Turn off the main water supply
Remove test cap (G) with the help of 1-11/32” socket, relive the water pssure ensure all the debris are flushed out of the system.
Thread sleeve (H) to the valve body. Insert the cartridge (I) to the valve body. Ensure to install Cartridge unit so cold water flows first. Ensure the two notches underneath of the cartridge seats properly in the valve body. Hold the cartridge (I) and thread the locknut(J) to sleeve(H).
Thread retainer cap (K) to retainer nut (J).
For back to back installation:- Rotate the cartridge 180 Degree. Ensure
‘B-B UP’ symbol on the cartridge is on the top. Follow the instruction on
3 to install sleeve (H), locknut (J) and retainer cap (K).
Turn on the main water supply. Check for any leak. Turn the cartridge (I) counterclockwise to the full open position. Allow water to run for some time until the hot water comes out. Check the temperature with thermometer for the hot water.
If necessary to reduce the hot water temperature then, turn off main water supply. Remove the cartridge by removing retainer cap (K) and lcoknut (J). Turn red temperature adjusting ring (L) clockwise to decrease the temperature. Follow instruction 3 or 4 to reassemble the cartridge(I). Ensure the hot water temperature is set below 120 ° F.

Place the face plate(N) on the valve. Ensure the rubber gasket(M) is placed behind the face plate (N) to form water tight seal. Slide the es cutcheon (O) on the valve.
Use silicon to caulk around the face plate (N).
Secure the handle (R) by tightening the allen screw (P). Place hole cover
(Q) on the handle (R). Ensure the handle rotates counter clockwise from cold to hot from 6 o’clock to 3 o’clock.

Remove the protective cover if placed on the valve.
Thread the valve sleeve (S) on the valve. Install the handle adapter
(T) on the diverter valve stem. secure the handle adapter (T) with the screw.
Slide the face plate (T) on the valve sleeve. Ensure the rubber gasket is behind the face plate (T). If necessary apply silicon to caulk around the face plate (T) to form water tight seal.
Install the handle (V) on the handle adapter (T). Tighten the allen screw (W) with 3/32” size allen wrench.
Check if water diverts to desired outlet.
