How To:
Step l Prepare The Surface
Stain must be applied onto a clean, smooth, dry surface.
1. At this time remove any hardware/metal accessories.
2. Smooth the surface with fine-grit sandpaper.
3. Clean using a tacky cloth.
4.Sheild surfaces you do not want to stain. Use painter's tape around doors, windows,
trim, and a tarp to cover floor, furniture, etc.that you want to be stain free.
5. This product can be applied to bare wood or previously stained wood. Expect when covering
over a existing previously stained surface, the stained color will not be an exact match to the color
sample printed on the label of the can.
step 2 Mix The Paint!
1, Use a stir stick to mix the stain ingredients that have setled at the bottom of the can.
2. Continue stirring until the stain visible at the
top of the can looks smooth and even to the eye.
3. Do not use an electric drill to stir the stain.
This will put air bubbles 1n the stain that will
take days to disipate.
*re-stir every 30 mins while in use.
Step 3 Apply
1. Apply the stain using natural-bristle brushes or foam brush for an even smooth surface. The
more stain applied, the deeper the color. A second coat 1s not advisable. Use judgement on how
much stain you lay down, becasue this stain is semi-transparent, and it is best to allow the grain
of the wood to be visible.
2. When applying stain, the rom temperature should be 60 degrees or higher.
3. Allow 3-4 hours for dry to the touch, and 8 hours or more to be completely dry.
4. Varnish stain does not require a clear top-coat such as polyureethane.
